  1. I keep trying to read all of the optimism on here. I see how bad everyone else is this year and we are only a game out. I see our remaining schedule and know we are coming off a bye week. But with how we've been soundly beaten by good teams, barely beat the Titans, lost to the Jags, and overall state of our defense, I just don't know how to Bill-Iieve. It also doesn't help that the Pats look to achieve the undefeated season. And as everyone talks about what could happen, all I can see are the trends and what has happened. -Rex has been on a downward spiral for the last 4 years -Roman has had a crap offense for the last 2 years -The Bills have missed the playoffs for 15 years. Yes, there have been moments here and there within those truths, but the end results are fact. And right now, there's nothing I can do to not believe that the results will continue. No matter how healthy we get.
  2. It's one thing to overcome poor play. A dumb Int, inaccuracy here and there, a fumble...but what he did in the first half was beyond that. This is like saying that a guy robbed you, but brought the stuff back and is on okay guy in your book. Sorry, his comeback doesn't count because they didn't win. His damage was too much
  3. Yes, we shouldn't care what other people think. But having to be a Bills fan outside of Western New York is tough sometimes. We were in the public spotlight for the Pats game. This game is broadcast world wide. We have a Thursday night game against the Jets and Monday Night game against the Pats. I don't see us winning either of them. It's one thing to suck and be out of the spotlight like we have in the past, but to have 25% of our games (Losses) paraded for all to see....just sucks. Yeah, I wanted a nationally televised game, but hopefully one at home. This is just going to be salt on the wound.
  4. It doesn't matter who it is anymore. That's the point. Blame the D one quarter, EJ the first half, the coaching at the end. It doesn't matter because the result is the same. We are all just dumb enough to let ourselves get caught up in different excuses so that we can find a reason to be back next week. injuries or not, I think another coach has us with a better record right now.
  5. I just don't know how you do it when the team has given you any reason to believe in them after 15 years. I genuinely admire it. I don't know how to be positive anymore with this team.
  6. Winning would calm the sting, but not change the reality of who we are as a team.
  7. It's two hours later and I'm still not sure how to react to this. It's just so baffling to me. I'm so sick of the positivity and excuses. Other teams survive and win. We lost to the Jags?!
  8. It's something every week. We almost lost to the Titans. This is a great team being ruined by coaching and roster decisions
  9. In many jobs today, they have a "no fault" policy in regards to being late or tardy. It doesn't matter why you are late, it just counts against you. Now, they will give you more chances, but when you are done you are done. So, if you do get fired for missing work after the 6th time because something genuinely happened, they aren't firing you for being sick, they are firing you because you are unreliable and put yourself in a situation where you couldn't afford to miss again. The Bills are at that point. Sure, EJ stunk up this game for the most part. Although he did have his moments. But he is the QB they put out there. He was their choice as backup. Roman and Rex both came from jobs where the teams no longer want them due to poor performance. As an employer (Bills Fans) many have gone well beyond the point of benefit of the doubt. Just look at the sell-outs at home so far and those who traveled to London. I've heard your excuses all season. I heard you talk a good game. But now you are done. I'm so !@#$ing sick of the potential wasted with this team. Guess what. Every team gets hurt. Every team has penalties go against them. You don't want that phantom PI call to hurt you, don't be losing to the !@#$ing Jags!. This team is done. We will not make the playoffs. We are stuck with Rex and Roman for this year and at least next. The futility will continue. Thank you Pegula for saving the team. Thank you very much. I'm just sad that your first decision continued the misery of being a Bills fan. Good news is, the pressure is off to give a **** about this team this season. I can watch the games with a sense of "if they win, that's a bonus". Stress free.
  10. I'd almost say we are the dumbest. We are like the abused wife of an alcoholic. We deserve better and should have moved on by now
  11. This actually makes things worse for me. If he and Incognito are doing so well, then we are really messing up with coaching
  12. I don't disagree with you. But for some reason, it doesn't feel right. I want to make the playoffs because we are finally good, not because everyone sucks more than us
  13. Why does anyone want to see Roman as our HC?!?
  14. I'm happy for Chan and Fitz, but I think history has proven that this is what they do. Through the first half of the season they look like all-stars. Teams adjust and they just look absolutely lost in the second half, making Fitz have to create plays. We know how that works out
  15. I'm not trying to be an @ss by calling this out, but can you please explain this to me? And please don't count any Tyrod Scrambles in your rushing totals (besides the designed runs against the Titans) or throw-away offense time in the 4th during our 3 beat downs I struggle so much this thought. I mean, we should be ecstatic if we make the playoffs. Even if we lose in the first round, that's a win for us, right? But I agree. Even if we make the playoffs somehow by beating all the teams with losing records, you just know it won't mean anything once we get there. I feel spoiled as a poor kid
  16. I mean, why else are they worse with the same players and getting confuse every other play? And to be fair, I blame coaching for our offense as well 😉
  17. Where did the OP say that EJ was the reason we lost? He wasn't the only reason we lost. But he wasn't going to win it for us either. I love EJ. Was happy when we drafted him and bought his jersey immediately. I wanted him to win the job. But the fact is, he's erratic as all hell, can't hit guys in stride, and his deep ball is terrible. He's a back-up at best. That's independent of the outcome to this game.
  18. I feel 100% comfortable saying that this is the same old Bills futility we have all come to get used to over the past 15 years and I'm now going to say that we are actually worse than we were last year. The most frustrating thing is that we are actually a more talented team than last year. We've actually gotten better with our offensive line, QB, and CB. But, what I can only point to as terrible coaching has us in line for the same, if not worse record than last year. For every excuse I'm sure we will hear after this loss, I could easily give you an example of the opposite. Whether it be EJ playing, which many people wanted to see and other teams won with their back-ups this week. Injuries, again, look around the league. Or QB quick releases, not today folks. End of the day, this is the team put together by Whaley, from coaches down to players. We did a great job with some players, but there's a reason you need coaches. This is what I believe: Roman is nowhere near the offensive mastermind he was claimed to be. His offense in SanFran was weak and revolved around running the ball and TE's. Here, he's found a way to make our WR's disappear just as he did there. Rex had 2 great years, and then fell apart as he was outcoached and lost his team mentally. I mean, Marrone lit him up twice last season. Our defense is worse than last year so far. Even with Gilmore and Darby having amazing seasons shutting down 2 of the opposing teams offensive weapons. And with our run defense being stout. We still can't get any pressure. (5 sacks so far vs 20 at this point last season?). Now, they aren't a lot worse, but with a crap offense keeping them on the field so much, any defense would get winded or have a few bad moments. And mentally, I'm proud of them for not just giving up due to knowing they won't get any offensive support. The sad truth is, nothing is going to change. You can't fire Rex, nor should you. Rex can't take tweak the offense as he doesn't know how. We are just stuck with it. And like the same old Bills, even if we win a few in a row, when it comes time for that "Statement" game, we will put up the same effort we saw today and against the Pats. 9-7 Sept. 13 Indianapolis W 27-14 Sept. 20 New England L 40-32 Sept. 27 @ Miami W 41-14 Oct. 4 NY Giants L 24-10 Oct. 11 @ Tennessee W 14-13 Oct. 18 Cincinnati L 34-31 Oct. 25 vs. Jacksonville* W - because it's the Jags Nov. 1 Bye Nov. 8 Miami L - Just call it a feeling. Playing hyped with new head coach Nov. 12 @ NY Jets W - This will be Rex's big game Nov. 23 @ New England L - No explanation needed Nov. 29 @Kansas City L - We find a way to lose to them Dec. 6 Houston W - Even playing badly, we are a better team Dec. 13 @ Philadelphia W - Push game, think we win Dec. 20 @ Washington W - They are that bad Dec. 27 Dallas L - Romo and Dez are back Jan. 3 NY Jets W - Playoff game implications, won't matter as others win and eliminate us
  19. EJ could have ran for that first down. No containment and had all day
  20. Bengals 27, Bills 17. Close game at first, but no running game and lack of discipline lose for us and wastes a great crowd.
  21. He's not wrong. I say it's 25% young qb, 75% scheme. Roman doesn't utilize WR's the right way. Sammy has proven he can be that guy if you put it near him. Roman needs to utilize this kid. He's special. Usually I don't like stuff like this, but he's right saying what needs to be said.
  22. While they do some things well, the things they are doing well are the same things as last year. The offense showed some pop early on, but has look more unprepared than anything else. The defense is the same as last year, at best. Our running game is mainly coming from our qb. So no, I can't agree with this. If anything, they've shown an inability to control emotions (pats game and penalties)
  23. Because those teams have established themselves and winners and earn the benefit of the doubt. We've proven nothing but futility and an inability to close a season out. So when we have these kinds of games, we honestly don't know what the real product is.
