We are in the middle of the season, what o linemen do you suggest? OBJ is available and can help take our offense to another level (especially if the run game stays improved like the last couple weeks). Also, as mentioned, Robert Woods tore his ACL mid November last year and was back for the start of the season. A big factor being that DB’s put more strain on their ACL’s and play more reps than a number 3 wr. Probably best to stay out of an OBJ thread if your sick of hearing about him. Because your presence and comment show that you want to hear/talk about him 🤦♂️

It’s not just you OP, I’ve felt the same way this year, and that MN game felt like the culmination of that frustration. I don’t know why the Bills aren’t doing great with the contested catches this year, but our opponents have seemed to pull off contested catches better in the games we’ve played them atleast.
-
I know, but even though, “undrafted” is in the name, it’s still feels like drafting them. Either way, I don’t think any team actually, “drafts” that many o-linemen in one draft, so I also assumed and gave the benefit of the doubt, because it was how I read and understood the comment.

I imagine he is looking out for himself as he should. It is a business after all. Last year he tore his ACL in the Super Bowl screwing his chance for a new contract this season. If he comes back this season, he is coming back early and has a higher chance of Re aggregating the injury. However, if he waits until the offseason, he will DEFINITELY get a multi year deal. It seems to me, if a team is wanting to get him for a bit of a discount, while also increasing their odds for a Super Bowl win this season, then they have to show good faith and give him more than 1 year, otherwise I don’t see it as worth it for in (in the off chance he doesn’t get a new injury, and plays at a similar level as last years post season, then he would really cash in. But that route is full of risk and little guarantees).

I took that to include UDFA’s, with 1-2 actually drafted.

Josh Allen helping folks get out of debt.
Tanoros replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
At the end of the article it said donating $20,000 can help relieve up to 1 million in dept. That leads me to believe Josh didn’t just hand over 10 million. Sounds like it was around $200,000. That makes much more sense than 10 million. -
Marquez Stevenson Released (update 12/10 - signed to Bills PS)
Tanoros replied to Dick_Cheney's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think this person is thinking about the ones that could have been drafted earlier. Like you said, Beane hasn’t done bad at all with the wr’s. However, I really hope Beane gets Josh another great wr talent. It could be TE, RB, WR, vet, rook anything. We just need someone else who can really take over like Diggs in the pass catching game. -
Let’s say there was an, “eye for an eye” rule and a Bills player let up due to not wanting to deliver the hit and thus be removed from the game. How would you feel about that? I know I would be furious, especially if it allowed a td. It seems like there isn’t really a good solution for a situation like Hamlins. He definitely didn’t try to take the Pats players head off.
-
Thanks for sharing. Wow! That hit is worse than I thought. Full shoulder to the head. Yet, what choice does he have in that situation? It’s either let up, or aim as best as you can and hope for a good call when making the hit. That’s such a hard split second decision to make.

They played the Bills and Bengals twice last season and 1 each this season. The Chiefs only win was 13 seconds. I see, if we beat the Chiefs the Bengals don’t play them.

I trust McDermott, so if they go the route you suggest so be it. However, Elam was always going to take time to get used to zone, and it’s his first season with us. The staff will be patient with him, that’s their MO, I don’t see a switch to safety in the next year, unless it was always part of the plan. Atleast not next season.
-
To be fair, he would have missed more than 1 game if not for other wr injuries (crowder, Kumrow). Also, he plays a very high (90%) of snaps. Perhaps his ankle hasn’t fully healed? That’s the speculation here anyway.

He has one more year on his rookie contract FYI

I mean your right, but these, “propeller head” stats add context to the win/loss records. Are you not on this board to talk Bills football, and a deeper understanding of Bills football? For instance, when I look at those stats, I see Vikings and Eagles towards the top of the list (luck helping to explain some of their records, but not all). Where as the Bills and KC are towards the bottom, but still have a good win/loss record. Meaning, they are playing to make up for the bad luck. Which further shows (what are eyes see) that KC and Buffalo are much more solid teams, that don’t need luck to win (personally, QB play has to be a big part of willing a team to win). Before looking at that list, would you have argued if anyone mentioned the Giants are the luckiest team in the league? Because, I’ve felt that much of their wins are luck, but Daboll has gotten them to play hard (plenty of teams do that and don’t win though). Anyway, stats can be used to help take a deeper look at the metrics behind the win/loss and help confirm what our eyes are seeing. I’ve been amazed this season (especially the last 4 weeks or so) at how many times our DB’s are playing tight coverage and the wr makes a great contested catch. Many times our DB’s could have played the ball better, but it was still tight coverage and those catches aren’t always a given.

The point is, while we have struggled, it’s not as bad as many here make it out to be. While also a acknowledging the very things that have contributed to our struggles (because there are reasons why). Even with our struggles, we still have a top offense/defense. Which means, once/if the team can overcome the struggles, we will be in really good shape. About the other 31 NFL teams. At times all teams struggle (aka excuses as you call it). Many of the struggles teams endure is related to injuries, but not all. The point is, when struggles occur, it’s good to understand why (root cause and contributing factors) because there are reasons for everything. Your comment provides absolutely no value, or contribution to the thread. What you call excuses are in fact contributing factors towards our team not performing up to their standard that we were accustomed to. It’s worth talking about, especially on a forum dedicated to Bills football. If you have nothing to contribute it’s better to move on and say nothing. Instead posting as a grumpy/negative person doesn’t do any good for this forum or yourself. You just look dumb.

Gabe Davis - Getting a Bum Rap From Some Fans
Tanoros replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s not what I’m staying. What I’m saying is breathers are obviously important, because Diggs gets them, and he is our main weapon offense (besides Allen). If Diggs gets them, it’s because they want Diggs fresh so he can make plays. They wouldn’t rest Diggs for any reason other than to enhance his performance, and he is a number 1. You stated, Davis being a number 2 should be out there all the time regardless and still preform, without acknowledging that our number 1 gets breathers in order to enhance his performance. Like I said in my previous post, I’m not saying Davis doesn’t have room for improvement. He does. I’m just sick of posters overacting and and over exaggerating/over stating things without acknowledging the full context of the facts. There is absolutely no benefit to over exaggerate anything or to ignore other relevant info. -
Gabe Davis - Getting a Bum Rap From Some Fans
Tanoros replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s playing more snaps than Diggs because of his blocking. If Diggs needs a breather every now and then, so does the guy who’s playing more snaps than him. Obviously Davis has room to improve, but your comment is completely wrong. Being out there as much as he is, has to be tiring and if it wasn’t, Diggs wouldn’t be coming out like he does. -
THANK X A MILLION! Too many are complaining about the sky falling, but their opinions are purely emotional and have no bearing on reality. I think these people want us to be like the Chiefs week in and week out, if not, the sky is falling.

I agree we could be getting more out of some of our early draft picks. However, this is year 6 (5.5 for Beane) and the team we have is legitimately good on paper and in action. Beane is built the team. It’s the offense that seems bothers you the most, mentioning Allen having to work so hard, and also later the stuff about Tua. Hill and and Waddle are much more talented than any two wr on our team. But our defense is better than Miami. And the defense is better than your giving it credit for. I believe we will see the team come finish strong much like last year, with the defense getting healthy and the offense finding it’s groove. Who knows. We just see the team differently. Time will tell.

Sean McDermott = Best in the NFL on 4th Down Decisions
Tanoros replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
The coach makes the calls on the field based on all of their input from ALL sources. Your take is flat ridiculous! So we should never fault/praise McDermott for 4th down attempts then? Because it a Bills thing? How many other teams value analytics, yet aren’t calling as many 4th downs? -
The way you speak about the underutilized guys comes across as if you think the offense is broken or something. We have one of the top offenses in the league, and yes we also have room for improvement. Cook, and Shakir are rookies. They have both shown flashes, and have earned more reps over the course of the season. Hines bas been in the team for a few weeks, and is a role player. He will get more work, but he and Cook steal reps from each other. So your noting two guys as being under utilized while acknowledging that there reps directly compete each other. Knox is the most baffling one, I mean he has a great all around game, but I expected more from him in the passing game. This is Dorsey’s first year, maybe that has something to do with it. I don’t know. But that one’s legit, the rest are guys who it’s a bonus if they are more than a role player this season. BTW, it’s a bit of an over reaction to begin to even suggest Beane isn’t getting good player. Like I said, our offense is far from bad, we’ve lost 3 games by a combined 8 points, and if not for mistakes made by our team (as in correctable) we could have won all 3 of them. Yes, we can better, yes we have things to fix, but it’s plain silly to act as if there are major issues. Let’s see how we finish the rest of the regular season and go from there.
-
I don’t personally think offense is the issue either. Most who want a new coach want an offensive coach, and my point is, we can do just fine taking the next hot thing at o coordinator who can parlay that into a head coach gig. Between a top offense with Allen and a top defense. What more can anyone want? A team like that is always in the hunt for a Super Bowl. It comes down to how the season unfolds like injuries, weather, personal stuff, etc. Even though last offseason wasn’t as good as the one before, the team was, and we were 13 seconds away. Yes it’s on McDermott, but the team as a whole DID grow even though the record in the post season didn’t. Yes wins matter, but we can’t deny the team itself didn’t grow and McDermott was driving the boat. We have no clue about this season. No reason to speculate. But as you said, our offense is top notch, as is our defense. Id argue, that this years team (when mostly healthy…big if I know) is better than last years team. Again, growth/improvement. Let’s see how it ends before we make assumptions, but the team IS better. No argument there.
