  1. Dolphins are garbage Suck suck suck suck suck suck suck Bills win tomorrow (I'm not good at haiku... was that enough sucks?)
  2. This is true, but only to the extent that an innocent person would know they are lying.
  3. From what I have heard, the department has already put the officer on administrative assignment. That part of the investigation has already started. I also read that Hill was issued two citations. That will end up in court if not plead out. Hill can also sue the police if he believes his rights were violated. I don't think this is over by any means.
  4. If the police can articulate that the driver "failed to obey a lawful order", he can be yanked out of a car and arrested. Whether he was issued a lawful order will be debated.
  5. I agree this was a pissing match between Hill and the officers. One the officers will almost always win. Some officers are badge heavy. These appear to be this type. Whether they acted within the "range of reasonableness" will be up to the courts and/the department, if it gets that far. I believe officers like this damage the credibility of police everywhere, but they don't often lose in court.
  6. In Graham vs Connor, the US Supreme Court established what has become known as the “objectively reasonable standard” when it held that “the ‘reasonableness’ of a particular use of force must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight. This could be enforced by civil or crimninal courts. That said, each police department can establish its own (more restrictive) Use of Force standards for its internal policy. As you said, that would be enforced by personnel discipline actions.
  7. Just a point of law: You need just reasonable suspicion to pull a vehicle over. You need just reasonable suspicion to detain a person. You need probable cause to search a vehicle. In my opinion based on what I have seen on video and what has been reported, they had reasonable suspicion to stop the car and reasonable suspicion to detain the driver. They did not have probable cause to search the vehicle.
  8. At least he doesn't get a 15 yard penalty for hitting his own teammates. 🤦
  9. Hence the, "Super Bowl Halftime Acts That Will Never Be" 😉
  10. You want to get the crowd pumped? Get The Blues Brothers!
  11. Um, hello, this isn't true. It was a Seinfeld episode! 🙄 😆
  12. I don't think a leader has to necessarily be more nurturing. There are made shades of leadership. Running away from the team after a loss is just not any sort of leadership. I agree with you that the rest of the players you cited were good leaders and their leadership will be missed. At some point, though, management has to make difficult decisions on how much of the cap they can afford to spend on veteran leaders who command a high salary, however deservedly. At some point, it is time to turn the reins over to younger leaders.
  13. You call Diggs a leader. A leader does not cry and run away when things go badly.
  14. I could absolutely kick it... assuming I could sneak up behind him and kick it really quickly. Of course, he would chase me down afterwards and beat me to a pulp. So, maybe it's not worth it.
  15. Takes one to know one! 🙂
  16. Absolutely. The movie producers did not invent the term "blind side." It had been used to refer to the left side of right-handed QB's for quite some time.
  17. I don't know. I think they have played well, but haven't gotten over the hump yet. Saying the whole team folds in cold weather is akin to saying the Bills fold in divisional playoff games. I still believe it's just a matter of time, not that we CAN'T win a divisional game. Edit- I think I attributed the quote to the wrong person. Sorry, Klos!
  18. ...sometime in the future... Keon, Jr: "Daddy, how long would it take you to run the 40 yard dash?" Keon: "Well, son, that's hard to say. I'm 45, and I haven't finished it yet."
  19. Jenny, Jenny, is that you? Are you the one I can turn to?? 😄 I don't think so, but thanks!
  20. They still pay federal income taxes, OASDI taxes, health insurance premiums (I assume?), etc. They don't get 100% of their salary in their paychecks like I do. (My salary is so low for two of my jobs, that they do not take state or federal taxes out. But at the end of the year, I have to lump all income from my various parttime jobs together and pay taxes if the combined total is over the standard deduction.)
  21. I just love how 20-30 players at every position want to be paid top-5 salaries. 🙄
  22. "Dual threat"? How about the "triple threat" of "Slinging" Sammy Baugh, who lead the league in passing, punting, and interceptions as a safety for the Redskins. The only player ever to do that in a single season. Two of his records as quarterback still stand: most seasons leading the league in passing (six; tied with Steve Young) and most seasons leading the league with the lowest interception percentage (five). He is still second all-time in punting average. He was the first player to intercept 4 passes in one game. It's hard to compare players from different eras, but the early days had some amazing multi-threat players such as Sid Luckman, Otto Graham and Sammy Baugh. (Sid Luckman probably doesn't make it to the "dual threat" category of today's game as he had a career rushing total of -224 yards. 😄)
  23. What, exactly, are the HOF standards, though? The HOF does not list any standards or requirements other than being out of football for 5 years. And any person can nominate a player, coach, or contributor for the HOF. All nominations are then sent to the 50-person selection committee. I've gone back and forth on who should be in or not be in. I've finally realized that this is a Hall of Fame, not a Hall of Greatness. Players like Joe Namath and Lynn Swan were undoubtably famous in their time, even if they were not great players. Players like Steve Tasker, although a great player, may not have been famous enough outside of Buffalo. Being ambiguous keeps the HOF in the minds of people as they debate who should or should not be in. I think that is by design.
  24. How does a man his age even find a 24 year old and engage them enough to start dating? -asking for a friend
  25. Another save by Mr Auto-Correct!
