Bears DC Alan Williams Leave of Absence
RangerDave replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pro-John Adams newspapers and pro-Thomas Jefferson newspapers used to print lies about each other all the time when they were running for President. Dishonest media has been around longer than just for decades. Probably since media started. Humans haven't evolved all that much in some ways..... -
So, your Philosophy 101 class is going well? 😉 I like your analogy.

This makes me wonder. It seems like most of the folks on this board don't like these types of drama sports personalities, yet they (supposedly) do this to get high ratings. So the question is, who watches these shows to give them such high ratings? Is it like Yogi Berra's saying, "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded." People do watch, but not real sports fans?

Bill Belichick Officially On the Market

And even if she was, I am pretty sure she would not be a "covered entity" by HIPAA rules. -
Interesting Buffalo News article on Dawkins
RangerDave replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I applaud his renewed commitment to his weight issue. But what about strength training? This diet doesn't seem like it has enough of the right calories to build, or even maintain, muscle. -
And in other just as shocking news: The sky is blue!

I don't know what in the wide, wide world of sports ever happened to ESPN, but I can't remember the last time I watched a show other than a live game.

Josh Allen: Assistant Offensive Coordinator?
RangerDave replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe we can pay Josh $5 million to be QB and $50 million to be the Assistant OC Coordinator??? 🤔 -
I loved the article under the one about Josh when I read it this morning: Report: Connor Hellebuyck has no interest in signing long-term with Jets Even hockey players don't want to play in Jersey!
-
Dang, this negates my sneaky 4th and inches play where the QB takes the snap from the center, then gives the ball right back to the center to move the ball forward a few inches. 🥴

I've often wondered: Can only "eligible receivers" take a handoff, or can it be handed off to, say, a pulling guard as well?

Jags @ Bills in London: Week 5 - 10/8 @ 9:30am ET
RangerDave replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder how income taxes are handled when NFL teams play abroad? Jacksonville plays in Florida, which has no income tax. Do they have to pay anything to the UK? Also, do the Bills' players and staff pay NY income tax, since it is a "home" game? Things that make me go "hmmm"... 🤔 -
GOAT debate related to era Montana vs Brady
RangerDave replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was certainly a lucky win for the Giants, no doubt about it. -

Maybe I just will do that. Thanks! 😀 -
GOAT debate related to era Montana vs Brady
RangerDave replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am also always amazed at how "lucky" NE was during many of their Super Bowls. Seattle throwing a pick at the goal line instead of running Beast Mode Atlanta's historic collapse last second field goal win vs the Rams last second field goal to beat the Panthers I believe you make your own luck, but how would people feel about Brady if he had lost more Super Bowls than he won? -
GOAT debate related to era Montana vs Brady
RangerDave replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think what helped Brady was his ability to avoid taking big hits, prolonging his career and avoiding injuries like Josh had last season that hurt his season. He had a very quick release, played a short passing game, and threw the ball away when needed to avoid a hit. This was all part of what made him great. He also won with a lot of pedestrian receivers. I think Brady saw this coming and wanted out before it did. Then he chose a team with all the right components to win another championship. This does not demean his accomplishments in any way. He was just smart about where he played. -
How ChatGPT would have handled the 2021 Offseason
RangerDave replied to Yantha's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow, just like me! I may have to change my username to ChatGPT. 🤔 -
He is coming off an all pro season. And I'm pretty sure someone will pay him big money, so why wouldn't they trade for him? Maybe for an O-lineman? Gotta be a better return than a potential comp pick, no?
-
Is it possible to tag someone and then trade them?

Bills 10 highest graded defensive players for 2022
RangerDave replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, this list is only the top 10 list for Buffalo Bills players, right? There are only 11 starters on defense, so this list has a huge curve. Somebody HAS to be #5 and someone HAS to be #10. This list doesn't compare them to other defensive players in the NFL. Our #6 best defensive player may be #95 in the NFL. Although how they don't have Milano as #2 is beyond me..... -
Even if you don't know CPR or aren't "certified", you can still do the patient a lot of good by doing "hands only" CPR. Push hard and push fast on the middle of the chest. CPR usually doesn't restore a heart beat by itself. You are just buying the person time until the AED or more definitve care arrives by pushing blood throughout the body, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the body's cells.

Something very different: who we really are. 😄
RangerDave replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am Dave. ("Hi Dave.") I've been a recovering Bills fan for all of my 59 (almost 60) years. My last Bills game attended was 17 days ago.... I retired as a National Park Ranger in 2016, then worked as an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for a hospital in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. My wife and I retired (again) in 2020 and started a 10-month trip around the world. A trip that was cut short after 78 days due to the global pandemic that I had written a plan for while working as a hospital Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. 🙄 We only made it to 3 of the 20 countries we had planned. We honeymooned in Italy and are planning to return for our 20th anniversary in 2025. Among other areas in Italy, we want to get up to Milan and the Italian Alps. We read the book, "Beneath a Scarlet Sky", which is now one of our favortite books. We are so intrigued to hike in the mountains where Pino Lella guided Jews escaping into Switzerland. The book was so well written, we can envision exactly what it looks like. Giulio, are you familiar with this book? Do you know where Pino and his brother were sent to escape the Allied bombing? When we get there, maybe we can meet up.
