  1. I remember telling my friends, "Wait 'til the year after next!" (Because I knew we would suck the next year, too.....)
  2. The Rams traded two 2nd round picks for the rental of Von Miller. That worked out pretty well for them. I don't know if I'd do it for a RB with our O-line though.
  3. When the Bills went down 20-3, my wife turned her Bills cap around and declared: Rally Cap Time! The Bills scored 20 unanswered points after that. You can't overstate that amount of skill and edication. (And if someone were to ask me what I did, I smiled at her as she did this...)
  4. He probably still has the Key to the City already!
  5. True, although those injuries occurred in the Titans game when it wasn't dangerously hot. Also, I believe both players sustained neck injuries, not concussions. Or at least not suspected concussions. I don't know the procedure for when a player who gets hit in the head has to enter the "concussion protocol". Then again, it seems like no one in Miami knows that either.
  6. I really don't know what to think. HIs stumbling really appeared to be from a concussion, not a back injury. Either way, I did not notice Tua having any difficulties throwing the ball or running the offense after half time. You would think that either of those type of injuries would have affected his game. Pretty amazed that they didn't, at least from my untrained eye. Maybe whatever it was wasn't so serious after all?
  7. I know you are joking (hope you are joking?), but today's sports are lightyears ahead of yesterday's sports in terms of player safety - and player performance. I remember back in the day, coaches would not let players drink water during practice to "toughen them up." Now we know that staying hydrated improves performance substantially. Players are also cognizant of long term health and performance. That's why we see so many players go to the ground or going out of bounds before they get hit. Getting injured (aside from being painful!) can lead to a shorter career, less career earnings, and missed games. There are also long term consequences leading to poor health later in life. Possibly even a shorter life. While I get upset when players give themselves up early, or don't play after a seemingly minor injury, I get it. I'd probably do the same thing if I was a pro athlete. The game is still fun to watch and we get to see good players play over a longer career. I'd call that a win-win.
  8. I've seen this happen in soccer games. They will take a timeout for the players to cool down and rehydrate. I actually thought that was happening in the game when Bates got hurt because it lasted a longer time than normal and so many players were taking a knee.
  9. I'm hoping it was the part about eating taffy that won the game for us and not the part about cracking a tooth! 😄
  10. I cracked a tooth while eating taffy at the game last night. The Bills won. Does that count? 🦷
  11. You always seem to be hurting for money. Why don't you start fining some posters for unsportsmanlike writing? 😇
  12. I just got mine a few days ago.
  13. I'll volunteer to be sent to Fiji to jump under a coconutif it helps our odds out any!
  14. I thought this thread would be about the Bills not punting for the 4th time in the last six games! Why do we even bother wasting a roster spot on these people?? 🙂
  15. My wife and I have been spending a lot of brainpower on this very question, since a Bills win means we will be eating it at least 16 more times this year...
  16. I think it's a combination of the defender being a good sportsman and not hitting the QB when they are close to the sidelines and heading out, and defenders not wanting to draw an unnecessary roughness penalty by an overzealous official. That is when some QB's take advantage and fake going out of bounds. If a QB gets known for that, they risk losing the "good sportsman discount" as well as drawing flags for late hits, making defenders more likely to hit them if they are close.
  17. Yeah, but it's a dry heat, right?? 😉
  18. If these guys can block, why can't Gesicki? Is this something our staff can teach him, is it something he would be willing to do to be on a SB favorite, or he is unwiling to do so and thus he is not a process guy?
  19. I anticipated this response and started addressing it in my initial post, but then I thought better of it. Just as our offense was not playing against the defensive #1's, our QB's did not get to play with our offensive #1's. It works both ways. I just don't think we can write off the team as being unwinnable without JA. It was an overreaction on your part based on a single preseason game, and the first one to boot. We are certainly not the same team without 17, but fortunately, there are 52 other players on the field who have a say in game outcomes.
  20. We won today without JA, didn't we?
  21. He appears to be askinbg the staff member, "Does this Poyer jersey make me look fat?" 😆
  22. I don't know. Have you ever hit your funny bone? It's not very humerous/humurus....
  23. Certainly possible, and maybe even probable. I can just envision a scenario where they want to look tough.
  24. I can see a scenario where the NFL hired the 3rd pary judge, then appealed their decision to "show" the public just how tough they are with sexual deviants. "The fair and impartial judge said to give a 6-game suspension, but we think it should be even higher. See how tough we are?"
