  1. Compared to his standards yea but compared to the league he’s been good lol
  2. Yea to me this interview is pretty unforgivable like you can’t admit you just don’t know if one team will have a competitive advantage or not. We can all argue about how much of a role it actually played and say no excuses yada yada but the nfl officially scheduled this not knowing how it will play out One thing that will never make any sense to me is how that was a home game…one team is already there and they’re the away team? Lol
  3. Oh there’s tons of criticism warranted haha they did not play well and I absolutely agree that the receivers past diggs were an issue. the offensive line which has been solid all season got steamrolled in this one also. I think Kincaid will be a very reliable slot option if he gets the opportunity but he and Knox are busy chipping for Spencer brown who needs a lot of help when he draws a tougher offensive line matchup. Then everyone criticizes the usage of Knox/Kincaid a little bit unjustly imo. by comfortably I meant a one score win that didn’t really feel like was in a lot of danger of getting away from us…I’m not trying to say we would’ve blown them out which seems like is what you took out of the sentence which is fair based on the wording but not really what I meant. Criticism in general is welcomed and certainly warranted after that game I just respectfully disagree with a lot of the directions the criticisms have gone. They feel really hindsight-y and cherry picked at times especially when people try to evaluate offensive playcalling. Like obviously if you know your team is going to drop every single wide open third down pass before it happens you’d know you had to start attacking deeper downfield on earlier downs just as one example. I’m sure Dorsey was losing his mind in the booth watching that go down 😂. and then things like ‘Knox and Kincaid should be running deeper routes and not chipping’…that’s easy to say now because we lost but there’s a good chance if we tried that in the game things would’ve gone even worse with how much stress the offensive line was already under. The defense is kind of getting a free pass also based on the circumstances which I completely understand, but the offense had bad field position all game long because the jaguars were converting a lot of third downs and driving the ball downfield without a lot of resistance Poor offensive line, bad field position, stone hands on third down, diggs getting a ball wrestled out of his hands, defensive injuries all played a part in that loss and I just think we’re exaggerating the state of the team based on the results of this one game. Milano and jones may be done for the year but a lot of the defensive players we lost will certainly be returning
  4. Completely agreed…I’m surprised more people don’t see it this way. Brown will likely need some help against good dlines but I wouldn’t expect Dawkins to get bulldozed in the vast majority of games. this game was the perfect storm of bad offensive line play, key drops, a ridiculously good defensive play by the jaguars,a rash of injuries on the defensive side for the bills maybe some of which was exacerbated by the scheduling. Either way I wouldn’t really expect those things to occur on a week to week basis
  5. I’m not sure what ‘not built for the playoffs’ means in this context…who is the afc playoff team that looks like the total package and doesn’t have exploitable weaknesses on the defensive side? Miami certainly does, KC the defense has improved at the expense of the offense, cincy hasn’t looked the same since Jessie bates left who is playing great in Atlanta, the chargers defense is historically terrible. maybe if the browns came out of the north they could give us some trouble but I’m not seeing a lot of other teams that would. Super Bowl you’ve gotta assume will be the niners or eagles which is not a great matchup but it’s a single game at that point and anything can happen. If we were in the nfc I’d agree with you cuz there’s a good chance you’re seeing two of Dallas/philly/SF in a playoff run then whoever you get in the superbowl
  6. What? The jags were using a ton of simulated pressure to get free rushers blitzing josh and your answer is to hold the ball longer? Lol that is entirely the opposite of what you should do. What you are describing is when the defense blitzes and your offensive line can actually slow it down or pick it up which they very much couldn’t. this is just what I don’t understand about the negative posters after that game. We were throughly dominated in the trenches for the first time all season and absolutely need to clean that up, but people wanted deeper routes and less help sent the offensive lines way? I can’t wrap my head around it. You’re playing to win not playing to rack up stats for your rookie tight end so you can feel good about drafting him 😂 silver lining of this one is that’s the best josh has ever looked by a long shot when his offensive line forgets how to play football. I’d liken that to the bengals playoff game with how dominated the oline was and he played significantly better with taking the underneath stuff when he had to and taking the deep shot when it was warranted
  7. I think you misunderstand…I did not say their defenses overall were juggernauts. They have been loaded with quality pass rushers though. And if a defenses strength is pass rushers and not much else, you’d be crazy not to chip with TEs it just doesn’t make sense not to do that. You shorten one route to buy your qb time to expose a ton of problems in the secondary. idk how they’ll finish but the jags played a pretty much perfect defensive game on Sunday. I think they’re more than likely top 10 in defensive DVOA. I guess that final point depends on how you look at it. 12 personnel gives them an unparalleled way to give their RT help in a tough matchup imo, but if you’re only looking for passing yards for some reason and not wins then that changes the equation. There are teams like kc where the big time pass rusher plays inside where our more competent players are and I think you’ll see more of the routes out of the TEs that you’re looking for. this board is pretty funny with everyone banging the drum on three separate issues which have a single solution to fix all of them but people still complain when we do the thing that fixes all of them 🤣. People have been calling for a reliable Beasley-esque slot guy that can catch the tough underneath throws in traffic, help for Spencer brown, and a weapon that takes some attention away from diggs and Kincaid has proven capable of doing all of those things so far despite the jags defense having a whale of a game and all the injuries and the scheduling etc we were a few execution issues away from winning comfortably. it gets so frustrating in here after a loss 😂. Dorsey getting blamed because what he was doing wasn’t ‘clever’ it didn’t have to be clever it just had to be properly executed and it wasn’t. Peoples answer to drives blowing up because players are dropping wide open passes in the middle of the field and the oline getting blown up is to make the offense more complicated and send our tight ends out on deeper, longer developing routes? Just doesn’t make sense to me simultaneously saying oh sugar high josh is back trying to do too much and will lose the game then turning it around and criticizing him for taking checkdowns when the pocket is collapsing doesn’t make sense to me
  8. Depends entirely on what the defense is doing…we didn’t run the ball much on Sunday because the jags had pretty much everyone in the box. They were clogging up the underneath stuff and shutting down the run then they ran a bunch of impressive simulated pressures to prevent us from having enough time to work the ball down the field all at the same time. I mean everyone is sad that we lost that’s understandable but with how well the jags defense played I thought josh showed a ton of maturity. That was the kind of game where he has completely melted down in the past. I think you need a josh Allen(defensive player lol) who can line up anywhere and do anything to replicate that jags defensive game plan and only really the cowboys have that of the teams we have left on the schedule
  9. In the context of a game where dudes were dropping wide open passes and the offensive line was getting flagged all day, it’s pretty hard to criticize a qb for throwing a 50-60 yard rope and hitting his guy after having to reset in the pocket. People makin it sound like he could just step into that one from a clean pocket but that is not at all what happened lol had to drop back right into his own end zone and throw that one over a linebacker jumping right in his face which prevented him from fully stepping into it. Certainly wasn’t a perfect throw but it was a great one. He threw that ball nearly 60 yards virtually flat footed. Watch that short stride he has to take in the replay I’m not even sure he could’ve physically thrown it any farther like that. It looked like he was loading up to throw an absolute bomb and the time ran out on it to me
  10. A lot of it is opponents…even the bad teams we’ve played have had a monster or two or three on the defensive line. Leaving brown one on one with like maxx Crosby just to please the people lurking on the message board looking for a ton of receiving yards out of Kincaid wouldve been ridiculous 😂 Vs the jags we got absolutely mauled in the trenches and both our tackles needed a ton of help I’d let the season play out a little longer…I think people are comparing the offense to Miami’s who will have played probably 4 of the bottom 5 teams in the league and the chargers on top of that who are probably the second worst defense in the league we’re likely going to light up all those teams too(except for the panthers who we don’t play)
  11. Everyone complaining about Kincaid running short routes needs to read this lol if you’re just sending tight ends down the seam brown is gonna go full turnstile and nobody will be getting the ball 😂
  12. They are chipping a ton because Spencer brown is terrible…can’t run as deep routes with tight ends that way. Vs the jags Spencer brown and Dawkins were both terrible which is why the offense looked especially rough. Tough to help out the RT and the LT at the same time. Josh balled out considering if our tight ends were just free releasing down the seam josh would be getting bludgeoned every down. You need time to hit those long developing routes y’all are looking for
  13. I don’t think the bills have officially said anything besides knee/lower leg injury that will require surgery so all of that is speculation…there was also a quote that they feared ligament damage I believe but it was never confirmed People just guessing based on the phrasing of knee/lower leg it seems.
  14. I think they’re waiting to see if milano’s knee ligaments are intact when they get in there. it’s probably closer to good news than bad that we haven’t heard anything…maybe things didn’t look too bad in the X-rays/mris Minor fractures don’t take terribly long to heal if that’s all he’s dealing with he could be back. torn pec feels like more of a ‘you could return at massively diminished effectiveness so what’s the point’ issue though so I’m less optimistic on jones he probably could play in the playoffs in a harness
  15. It’s always been an obligation to money for him, but sometimes safety issues end up costing him money so those get addressed 😂
  16. Tre injury will be ok once benford returns…also once we get all our pass rushers back I think a lot of the back end coverage issues will get covered up. poona could be an ok replacement for jones although there’s admittedly a dropoff there. The Milano injury hurts though it’s crazy how many guys had short term injuries too against the jags though. It’s honestly kind of embarrassing they only scored 25? Haha idk if it’s too soon to be saying things like that. That was pretty much a preseason let’s see what we’ve got in our third string type defense i think the best silver lining is you need guys that can make impact plays and get a couple stops against the chiefs of the league so as long as the offense is intact and you’ve got a couple of those types of defensive players there’s always a chance. We’ve still got those type of players on the defensive line look at kc they’ve had pretty much one impact player on defense in their Super Bowl runs and he made a big play every time they needed one.
  17. Yea I don’t even think he had to rip the ball out and possess it solo though…if he just falls on top of the guy with his hands still on the ball too we probably get credit for the catch. a lot of that would’ve come down to the ruling on the field though of course
  18. Yea the majority of Josh’s ints actually have helped us. One was an arm punt on 2nd and long which isn’t a huge negative but it’s throwing a down away, and one was a very bad pick at midfield against the jets. all the others were fine. It’s kind of crazy all ints count the same on that stat sheet 😂 I can’t believe how important that play to diggs was. Obviously you change the way the game is played a bit but that could’ve been a 400 passing yard 4 total td win for josh if diggs hangs on to that ball that was literally in his hands
  19. Haha yea I was chuckling about that as I was posting…still an absolute nonsense call. I believe it was Tyler kroft and that ended up sparking a huge rams comeback
  20. That’s gotta go down for a joint possession at worst I still cannot believe that play…looked like diggs caught it and he lost the wrestle for the football on the way down have to say though if he wasn’t gonna hang on to it an interception was probably the second best option lol josh is slowly turning into an elite punter too 😂 I’d normally agree with you but jax was taking this a bit to the extreme. I think the way they were loading the box we probably ran the ball too much if anything if you could believe that lol but we likely still wanted play action to remain somewhat effective.
  21. This is absolute bollocks haha if anything, he trusted his progressions and reads TOO MUCH in this game. He had to improvise more and find big chunks of yardage because stringing long drives together with two of his tackles playing terribly and receivers dropping balls was impossible. even though this was a loss I feel like it’s more evidence that he could be the best in the league. He was virtually lights out and pretty much everyone on the field let him down…unless you want to harp on the fact that he slightly underthrew a 70 yard laser under pressure. I also don’t really see it talked about, maybe because they’re the jags which somehow keeps him from being a household name but other josh Allen is an absolute beast. He pretty much wrecked our offensive line single handedly
  22. I feel like it’s the classic let’s pick up a bad player that knows the system over a pretty bad player that doesn’t. I mean he’s comfortable with him cuz he’s played in the system…he could probably find a slightly better player in free agency that will take time to learn the defense. We need bodies right away until benford returns
  23. I’d say they’re still pretty positive…in all the things that went wrong in that game if Dawkins played like 10% better we would’ve won. Brown gets a ton of help with chips and whatnot so Dawkins has to hold up. diggs and Allen have gotta feel like as long as they’re both playing well the team is in good enough shape
  24. I guess I’m not being clear enough haha the refs may have impacted the ending of the game for sure but the initial reaction was to flame the team and I didn’t really see many goin after the refs. it just felt like a total crap fest blowing a first half lead against the Zach Wilson jets. Really shouldn’t have been in that position in the first place the jags game definitely felt different…any time we got a big stop on defense or moved the chains on offense the flags flew in. Jets game it was one call at the end of the game that maybe/maybe not would’ve changed the outcome
  25. I don’t understand the term hero ball at all haha but my best guess given the context is people would see josh dancing around while the oline is collapsing trying to buy time to hit a deep shot as hero ball if it didn’t get the results they were looking for 😂 A lot of the hero ball criticism relies on ignoring those types of plays when they do work so the whole thing is a bit hypocritical in my opinion. Josh is making what should be considered hero ball type plays consistently but they are only brought up when they go wrong
