They’re taking up a roster spot and paying out some cash to pretty much imperceptibly hurt a single conference rival they might not even see in a game again? I think we’re being a tad dramatic about this 😂 the discourse around this has been weird like I get everyone looks for every reason to hate beane but there’s plenty of valid ones already that people can stick to. This feels like the convo is getting warped to maximize the beane hatred to me lol

I’m not sure what happens if he just refuses to retire and doesn’t report lol probably just gets fined a bunch of times. But if he ‘retires’ and tries to unretire we’d have his rights still and he’d negotiate to come back which could involve a trade to Philly

Ravens have really fallen off in the trenches on both sides. I don’t think it’s a ‘they’re going through the motions in the regular season type thing’ as much as it’s a schematic issue. Madubuike went down and they kinda fell apart they are nowhere close to the 2024 ravens or the ravens we saw week 1 it’s really tough to say but I think Denver is a tougher game tbh

I get everyone hating on beane overall but we really did the league and ourselves a big favor if slay rots on our did not report list. hes a solid player if you don’t ask him to play a ton of man at this stage and an instant big upgrade to that cb2 spot in Philly.. really think slay was a nice scheme fit here if he decided to give it a shot and he probably would’ve been an upgrade to Tre even.. Steelers hurt his public perception with some strange usage

I mean of course not haha that was more a comment on how the ‘hot’ team can be accurately course corrected to the ‘overrated’ team at the drop of a hat in the nfl. Beating teams like the titans in September/October is essentially meaningless if you’re losing to teams like Baltimore/Buffalo in December pats have had maybe one playoff relevant game all year so it’s still an incomplete for me but most of the sports world has crowned them it seems.

Real talk I don’t even think that would work for Baltimore haha I don’t think Henry is effective if he’s waiting for a cutback lane…he’s a ‘get up to top speed quick and run people over’ type dude

I think we gotta wait a few weeks to really know who the pats are. If they lose to us and Baltimore their public perception is gonna take an absolutely massive hit.. if they win both the ‘don’t talk about NE’s schedule’ people will be completely vindicated. Should be interesting to see what happens

Pit signed Asante Samuel recently and pit liked him better I’d assume makin slay kinda the odd man out. Slay was probably a bit disgruntled with the scheme and just said screw it and wanted to get back to Philly where he’d probably start immediately in a defense he liked.

He’s an immediate huge upgrade to adoree Jackson in Philly if you even want to just stick to pff grades and we play them in a few weeks possibly in a must win game. not sure if this was just a blocker thing by design but the bills probably did the league and themselves a big favor here haha Philly fans have been begging for slay to come back

Was just mentioning this in another post but if this dude is so hung up on pff grades adoree Jackson in Philly has to have the worst pff grade in the league so even as a pure block by beane it’s pretty impactful tbh. Not sure that was the main intention though

He either has to play in Buffalo or not play and he had no intention playing anywhere but Philly. To be fair I’m almost entirely certain Buffalo was where he wanted to go and the saints tried to game his contract to get him here I’m pretty sure lol. I don’t think cooks would’ve done this if he ended up getting picked up by someone else on waivers but we don’t really know 😂.

Should be interesting to see…I really think the ravens defense bad pass rush and all had a pretty good game against them it was just such a fluky one with the 5 turnovers… cincy just had so many drives because of that. bengals were 8/19 on third down and 2/11 finishing drives where they weren’t just running out the clock with TDs. Both tds came on third and long passing tds but we’d probably give those up too so that’s not really a point in our favor 😂 Baltimore has pretty quietly been one of the worst defenses in the league themselves

To be fair the sample size is about as small as possible to make that claim lol I think we’ve played against burrow once at home and once on the road. Their team is objectively quite a bit worse than those two bengals teams also I’d rather avoid both ravens/bengals if possible but of those two I’d definitely take bengals

I’ll happily accept the eye rolls for this. I think it’ll be the bills from the afc side and I can’t say I’ve ever strongly felt that before so I dont believe it’s a homer thing but you never know 😂. I really think the whole defense was playing banged up a lot of the year and guys like Milano are starting to turn it around. If Ed comes back for a playoff run I really wouldn’t be shocked if the defense was just suddenly good surprising everyone wouldn’t expect them to beat the nfc team in the superbowl though unless we absolutely nuke the eagles in the regular season which seems very unlikely haha

Health wise specifically I guess I could see that. Skill wise I think he’s underrated if anything tbh but idk how hot of a take that is 😂. we get hung up on ‘he’s officially a TE not a receiver’ but he’s doing everything everyone wants a wr1 to do with threatening downfield and he’s really tough to cover with a corner.. if we broke down production on a snap count basis he’s gotta be way up there statistically. they’ll pick up his 5th year option but if he continues to get banged up the next few years I’m assuming he’ll be out after that. You just know he’s gonna go to another team and be always healthy and an absolute monster though haha that seems like something that would happen to us

NE had just about 400 yards of offense on them but getting stopped on the goal line that 90 yard drive kinda tipped the points scale a bit. I think it was one of their highest yardage totals of the year Baltimore is a weird team I don’t think they’re good in the trenches on either side of the ball
