As much as we don’t like it, the ravens needed the mcd ‘don’t score too fast/control the clock’ strategy bad today haha. If he was on the other sideline they probably win ironically enough 😂. They scored a ton of points but scoring so fast extended the game so much obviously you’re not gonna go down when ripping off a 60 yard run though haha so it’s a tough spot
-
Oh yea he’s definitely getting closer though…I almost think they just don’t go through enough adversity and they panic when their opponent is actually able to bottle up the run and get them off schedule which most of the playoff teams can.. I think he’s got the physical skill to be an elite passer now and it’s mostly a mental thing

It’s gonna be hotly debated im sure but I think not challenging the spot on that slide saved the game. Clearly wasn’t a great call but I really don’t think they would’ve overturned the call on the field. It would’ve gotten bogged down in the whole ‘how do you define the start of a slide’ type stuff and I think they would’ve just left the call unchanged we also did something probably even more difficult than 13 seconds against them before halftime because of good timeout management/preparation but it’s getting lost in all the craziness haha -

The ravens are so weird they have all the ingredients to easily close out a game and just can’t seem to do it. This has been a problem for awhile now -
Idk…I mean if a player repeatedly slapped the sh*t out of an opponents helmet like that it would be a huge deal…I really don’t think a little shove is that big of a problem in this case.. it’s not like he jumped into the crowd either the dude leaned over the wall to smack ravens players in the head didnt davante Adams lay out a cameraman a few years ago completely unprovoked with zero consequences lol
-
Lamar’s a good dude…if he swung at the fan I’d say it’s a wild reaction but that shove when he was aggressively slapping Lamar’s teammate in the head was well deserved

Kinda funny cuz the dolphins did that against the ravens themselves two years ago 😂. Crazy how far they’ve fallen since the first half of the 2023 season -
Feels like the ravens bait you into short throws and then they close at an absolutely absurd rate and tackle insanely well an extra yard or two of yac on a lot of those short throws would’ve changed a lot but the ravens were stopping receivers in their tracks in the open field most of the night wonder what the plan will be next time because quite a few games in a row against them they’ve been well prepared for that
-
I don’t think they would’ve overturned that spot tbh. They would’ve stuck with the call on the field with some mumbo jumbo about it being subjective when a slide starts and you gotta remember at the time they were deciding that it was 3rd and 1. With the amount of risk losing a timeout in a game like that comes with there is really not a ton of reward. Ray Davis just happened to run backwards then Josh got sacked after that ironically I really think mcd not challenging that saved the game despite the call on the field being sh*t

Somebody pushed back on me saying it in another thread so maybe I was just biased haha but I really think Baltimore gets away with a ton of jersey grabbing/hooking and turning WRs every time we play them. Our dbs def get hands on receivers but I don’t see as much pulling/twisting guys up they are really good at pushing it just over the line though so there’s def some gamesmanship involved -
0-1 Chiefs, Ravens, Texans and the rest of the AFC East

Speaking of fluky statistical games holy sh*t what was that bengals game haha I think the bengals had like 7 yards in the second half and under 150 total 1 seed would do that likely…although who do you want to win a potential ravens chiefs matchup haha on paper I think def the chiefs but mannn that may be a ‘be careful what you wish for’ situation -
I’ll take a closer look at what we did in our secondary that may be true and I missed it…if that’s the case I’d amend it to Coleman would’ve been unstoppable in that game if there was a tighter whistle both ways I do remember the play where benford had a hand on somebody’s shoulder pad but the ravens looked like they were getting away with a lot of jersey pulls/hooks to me.. that late dpi Coleman drew felt kinda like a makeup to me
-
He did kinda get in his own way a few times in a night that was still absolutely stellar overall of course. Some of the heat Brady is taking were plays Josh checked into…a lot of the times they were the right decision too the ravens just tackled their asses off that slide was straight up bizarre like he def got it but probably shouldn’t have given the refs the chance to blow the spot given our recent history 😂
-
Keon was getting mugged most of the game or he woulda had an even better night…they did even it out a little bit with that late dpi that looked like it should’ve been a no call that ravens secondary always gets away with a ton against us he really is kinda the anti-worthy lol I feel like both teams got the guy they want in that draft. So many of those plays Keon made were just impossible to defend legally

If bishop doesn’t turn the corner we’ll probably have a safety shakeup by the time we see Baltimore again also -

I think they all had their Lamar revenge talking points drawn up before the opening kickoff and were very salty the bills foiled their plan tbh. The ‘Lamar should’ve been mvp’ convo was gonna give them a weeks worth of material -

The dude went 9-7 with tyrod and a pretty weak roster. They somehow won 6 games with guys like Derek Anderson starting half the season when rookie Josh got hurt with one of the worst rosters Ive ever seen -

Crazy part is Josh is probably a bit frustrated with himself lol I think there was potential for that game to be a much more traditional shootout that we win in a more normal way if he didn’t check into that short yardage hurry up run in the first half and didn’t slide so early that the refs could blow the call in the second half -

Theres some silver linings in even that defensive performance imo and they’re honestly pretty undermanned right now. Baltimore is kind of the perfect storm of sh*tty matchups so you gotta take it a bit with a grain of salt. pass rush was honestly pretty solid. after those first two blown plays setting the edge on Lamar bosa seemed to play pretty well. I’m curious how Dorian strong played…didn’t hear his name much which is a good sign lol but I was too overwhelmed to process everything that was going on admittedly 😂 having another good corner for depth would be pretty nice -

With a stolen drive by the refs too lol that was the perfect crime I think they would’ve upheld that slide being short on a challenge despite it obviously being wrong ironically challenging that obviously wrong call probably loses us the game -

The ravens tackling was insanely good…a lot of those underneath throws looked pretty well set up and they were flying all over the place making tackles. I really think they gassed out a bit down the stretch because of it -

It’s crazy how hated/overlooked or something the bills are. Collingsworth looked so butthurt too
