  1. I think the op’s point was we needed more hero ball depending on what the definition of hero ball is…and if he had attacked deep more and thrown another int people would’ve been saying ‘sugar high josh at it again’ when in reality it is what the game required it also didn’t help that 4 pretty much wide open drops killed drives, tough to hold that against the qb. And the drives where we did score he had to overcome multiple holding penalties these critiques are all hindsight-y really. Like obviously if they knew going into it the team would forget how to catch on virtually every big third and medium attempt all game they would’ve taken a lot more shots on earlier downs. We have that information because the game is already over. But in the moment you’re down one score so there’s no reason to abandon what you’re doing
  2. The stafford/Kupp rams were 3-5 to open the season with a notable loss to the cooper rush cowboys. They were not even mediocre…losing whitworth sunk the oline, losing von sunk the pass rush. The rams team the bills saw week 1 was below average. calling them the Super Bowl winner is even more absurd than likening them to the raiders/commanders this year who will also be around that 3-5 mark
  3. Genuinely what is ‘hero ball’…this is one of my biggest pet peeves in football discourse right now 😂 the dude had to dodge pass rushers to buy himself time to attack deep to move the ball. Is that not hero ball? Is it only called hero ball when it doesn’t work? If hero ball is finding a way to push the ball down the field when your offensive line is getting smoked we likely needed even more hero ball in that one lol
  4. I wouldn’t worry about Miami just yet…3 of their 4 wins are likely against three of the bottom 5 teams in the league and they just snuck by a pretty good afc team week 1. That’s kind of their MO in the McDaniel era. They’re 2-6 against playoff teams and those two wins are against injury riddled ravens and bills squads that they barely beat. on the flip side of everything you said, beating Miami was huge for us. If we beat them again that’s a guaranteed tiebreaker against the only afc east team that matters
  5. We did not destroy the ‘Super Bowl champ’ rams last year…we destroyed a team that was at the same level as our raiders/commanders wins this year. The Super Bowl champ rams were disbanded in the offseason immediately following the superbowl. we get a 1.5 game swing on Miami if we beat them in the final week of the season and they’ve had a few extremely easy opponents also…arguably the two worst teams in the league(Denver,NYG) and probably 3 of the bottom 5 (Denver,NYG,NE). Their only quality win was just sneaking past LAC. Miami also has a well established track record of losing to teams that end up appearing in the playoffs (2-6 total, 2-4 with tua). Those two wins were against injury ravaged baltimore and buffalo teams and they just squeaked by.
  6. Oh not a gimmie by any means…I just didn’t see too many complaints about it because we played like absolute garbage so it wasn’t even worth complaining about for most. im not trying to argue that it wasn’t a trip this game felt different to me…that poyer personal foul completely swung the game imo…our starting field position was mostly terrible and that was pretty much the only time we got a stop on an early set of downs and were set to take over with good field position. All the offensive holds were only getting called one way too…most of the second half we were blitzing and the jags just held everybody but no calls. Just not sure what you’re supposed to do in that situation…holds are drive killers and a few of them we got called for were equal to or even less innocuous than what the jags weren’t getting called for
  7. We’d need a complete overhaul of the offensive line…they’re pretty good in pass protection but not great at run blocking as it stands
  8. Bills could be good enough…the eagles and niners cant both make it to the Super Bowl. Nobody in the afc looks remotely close to unbeatable right now
  9. The chiefs have games like this but they’re getting bailed out by the refs on a weekly basis. They could’ve easily lost to the jets and Vikings
  10. Hopkins’ catch was much more difficult 😂. Diggs had a one on one and caught the ball but it got wrestled out of his hands after he pulled it in. Even if he hangs on for joint possession that’s a huge play
  11. I’m sure he’ll never admit it publicly but I doubt we’ll ever witness a team getting back to back games in London again 😂
  12. Roger goodell said in an interview giving the jags back to back home games in London was to test if the jags gained a competitive advantage from playing there multiple weeks in a row…I think that’s what he’s referencing insane comment on goodells part…you can’t blow a teams regular season home game to ‘test’ something. If he had said we studied the effects of travel and rest and it’s got no effect on the game it would’ve been ok even if it wasn’t true 😂. But man self admittedly not knowing what it’s gonna be like is an absolute joke
  13. Oline was getting steamrolled…I wouldn’t have felt very comfortable in a 4th and short situation either
  14. Playing smart ain’t gonna get it done on a day you’ve got 0 running game, offensive line is getting steamrolled, defense is sitting on all the underneath routes, and opposing offense is moving the ball relatively easily. They gave him the green light to go nuts way too late in this one 😂.
  15. I have said this from the beginning no matter how good or bad things get so at least I’m consistent 😂 but I think you’ve really gotta let josh be the football wild man that he is and it feels like Dorsey has the handcuffs on him. today was definitely a run around like a psychopath behind the LOS and hit big plays type game and it looks like they’ve reigned him in too much until it was too late. When your offensive line is not holding up and the defense is sitting on all the underneath stuff it’s really all you’ve got the vast majority of qbs couldn’t even get those throws off that you’re talking about let alone hit diggs for monster gains in any capacity so I find it hard to criticize him on those. If he had a clean pocket I’d be more on your side though
  16. I don’t even think there was much complaining about that because they were pretty much in fg range regardless
  17. That poyer flag was a huuuge momentum shift. That would’ve been the best starting field position we had all game by a long shot as usual the discrepancy in offensive holding swung the game. There was a solid quarter where Lawrence was under siege and his entire offensive line was holding and it was only called against us Dawkins got hit with one that the jags were getting away with all day
  18. I didn’t see much complaining about the refs after the jets game
  19. Then you’re screwing with your recovery schedule from the game you just played…idk why this point is getting ignored. You’ve gotta pick what the best of two kind of bad options is for your team. It’s unquestionably a strategic advantage for the other team by definition. They are already there and don’t have to make that choice I doubt the nfl ever puts a team in that position again. If they want to pull that again it absolutely has to be an away game for the team traveling late…which it would be if they were experimenting to see how a London team would work out the experiment didn’t even make sense, if a London team had all their home games in a row to start/end a season they would, you know, be the home team?
  20. Isn’t that a double edged sword though? Like imagine 4 full weeks of practicing/gameplanning and 4 professional football games then you lose 5 hours of time while preparing for the next game. I’d say it’s BS to say we only lost because of that but to say it shouldn’t have effected them is a little unfair. at minimum those London games should be later in the day
  21. It’s 5 hours on a plane after playing an 60 minute professional football game the weekend before and you lose 5 hours time. Imagine if on daylight savings time you lost 5 hours instead of 1 haha thered be no flight involved in that case and it would still mess ya up.
  22. Scoring 20 with like 0 rushing yards, a bunch of holding penalties, 4 easy completions dropped on third down, and terrible starting field position all game is honestly kind of crazy lol. mcdermott is earning his money imo, that defense hung on without absolute scrubs in for most of the game. That was not an nfl caliber defense out there for most of the game and they still kept points off the board somehow. Elam literally could not guard Ridley and they still kept the jaguars from scoring for a long stretch
  23. Too much $$$$ at stake…they want the game in an exclusive window. Really starting to sour on this league…or continuing to sour on it is more accurate 😂 completely unacceptable making teams play on bad turf on top of concrete from a player safety perspective regardless of everyone’s opinion of jet lag
  24. Most teams are flying there late in the week to keep their recovery/practice schedule as normal as possible. It’s kind of a damned if you do/damned if you don’t situation though. being there for a week prior is an undeniable strategic advantage. even with that though this was a winnable game that we choked away…both things can be true.
  25. Guarantee you they’ll never do that to a team again and we will be the only team ever effected lol they’re lucky one of their household names didn’t get hurt on that terrible field too
