I feel like people have confused Josh Allen's development into a top 3 QB in the NFL with being equal to the Bills development as a team. We tied for the group in fith to eighth place last year. And we have several players in decline on both sides of the ball. We may need more than 1 or 2 additional top players.

in the sense that all 32 teams are contenders, yes they are a contender. A 5% chance to win is not really a contender. Put another way if the 2021 Bills with Josh Allen playing at the level he did could not advance to the championship game with Beasley, it is not reasonable to think Beasley would put the Ravens over the top. Its quite absurd actually.

Ravens have 20-1 odds from the betting world. This does not fit the definition of "contender". It fits the definition of "a little better than a random 1/32 chance"

The Ravens are not in super bowl contention. The don't have a QB who can stay healthy for a sufficient number of games.

Trading for Ridley now would be a great move. Ridley and Allen could spend a decade together after this year, and he might be cheap to get.

Grand Juries almost always indict. If as expected Watson is indicted it could easily be a year or more before it goes to trial. If convicted and sentenced to prison he may never play again. if indicted he is likely closer to the start than the end of his problems.

Anyway you look at, for the next couple of years, the Broncos are more of a competitor than they would have been.

Josh actually looks slower than he is, because people don't understand the impact of the length of his stride. His top speed is among the highest in NFL history.

Everyone who ever played pickup football knows that the team with the big kid always had a huge advantage. Josh is THE big kid. Malik will never be the big kid in the NFL.

Allen stepped forward in leaps and bounds. Dawson got better. Ed Oliver got better. bass got better. Pretty much everyone else was the same or worse. Coaching did not improve.

We traded for Josh Allen.

To extent that Deshaun Watson becomes viable in the NFL I have thought for a long time that Baker plus many draft picks for Watson could elevate both teams meaningful. mayfield is not a high end QB but he is credible and might be a popular player in Texas.

My guess is Flores went with the person he thought gave him the best chance to win.
