I’m slightly concerned too but the fact of the matter is that Hyde effectively missed 2022, and was a shadow of himself this year with his head falling off. Poyer only slowed down first last year because he was the only one playing so it was obvious. And this year played a lot of dual LB/S big nickel hybrid which allowed him to compensate for the step he clearly lost. The last time we had both safeties playing at the elite level we are accustomed to was probably spots in 21. We have basically made due without that level of play since, retaining a pretty good defense and still being one score away from beating KC. So ultimately, if we get a mid tier FA or a solid rookie, I don’t think the defense is going to miss a beat. Part of that is why I do think McD is a good defensive mind and far better at adapting than folks give him credit for. Once Milano went down, and Dorian Williams played himself off the field, McD brought Poyer down and ran a ton of 3 safety looks. Poyer playing LB was our best option, McD recognized that, and our defense found its level. And it sucks that Taylor Rapp injured himself picking off Tua, because his absence meant we couldn’t use that look against KC without putting Hamlin or Cam Lewis out there, both of who completely suck.

I would like to keep him, think it’s going to be about financially impossible. Tackle market is absurd. Jawaan got 4 for $80M. We don’t have that to throw around.

Unpopular take: The Bills have really not been that talented in this Super Bowl “window” and I’m not that worried about the future because of it. 2020 was probably the peak in terms of overall talent and we were an AFCCG team going up against probably an All-Time Chiefs team. Since then, the water has found it’s level a bit between both of our clubs, which is why that was the last time they ever blew us out. They have a great team/org along with an All-time QB and we have our work cut out for us going forward. But it would not surprise me to beat them in the postseason once or twice in the next few years. We have a better shot than probably every other team than the Bengals.

This is what SUCKS about the modern NFL. Brown had some shaky seasons but he’s always been a physical beast (he was probably the best offensive Bill vs the Cowboys, he was mauling them), and we stuck with him, developed him, and now he’s probably gonna get top 6 RT money by a team like the Texans and we are gonna lose him. So yes, we have found our RT until next seasons, where he plays elsewhere.

Does this team actually have the guts to move on from Tre White?

I think it would be very bad publicity. -

You admitted its bad PR. I'm not talking about end of the roster guys (spoiler: end of the roster guys are pretty much interchangeable and don't matter all that much), I'm talking about guys like Leonard Floyd, mid tier FA's who might raise eyebrows if the team cut the dude who died on the field and had multiple teams to pick. -

Being an attractive destination for free agents helps winning. -

PR matters. You don't want free agents thinking "Buffalo is the place where they cold-blooded cut the dude who died on the field for them." -
McD puts Beane in a full-nelson on draft day and makes him take a 1T DT in the first round

He is. I’m not running away from anything. You just tried to add in “obviously” and something I never said to win. Sad.
-
I never said that. It’s not as fun when you try to pivot and create strawmen because you lost. “obviously going forward.” Oh wait? No. Not obviously.

We gave Andy Reid Mahomes!!!!!!!!! He is. He, with a little help from Joe Burrow, is why we haven’t won a Super Bowl yet. That’s a fact.

What Rock Song Would You Pick That Reflects The 2023 Bills?

Look what you made me do - T Swift -
Holy smokes this is painful to read. The Bills had pick 10. They traded it to the Chiefs. The Chiefs selected Mahomes. Mahomes went to a team with Hill, Kelce, Chris Jones and coached by Andy Reid. They were a maxed out first or second round playoff team prior to that. We GAVE them the missing piece for their dynasty. And Patrick Mahomes has gone to the AFCCG 6 straight seasons, and won 3 Superbowls, and knocked the Bills out of the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years. I’m not forgetting about Dawkins or Milano or whatever the heck you are talking about. I’m not cherry-picking, because there’s nothing to cherry pick. If you want to say the trade was worth it because we also drafted Dawkins or traded for Diggs in 2020 or whatever the hell you are trying to say, more power to you. I prefer winning Superbowls so to me, the trade was definitively NOT worth it.

There’s no need for name calling when you think Stefon Diggs is relevant to the conversation lmao
-
I never said that lol. He definitely can’t win one in 2023, or 2021, or 2020 because he already lost to Pat. Hopefully he can eventually squeak by and win one. Unfortunately Allen is gonna have to deal with Pat for likely his whole career. If only we traded Mahomes to some dog ***** franchise.
-
I know it must hurt in the land of hypotheticals to know that Pat and the gang have knocked us out 3/4 times and Pat is a Chief because of us. Indisputable facts and all that.
-
I’m not sure how you could miss the point harder tbh.
-
The Pats made a large portion of Bills football unwatchable. The Chiefs are quickly climbing in the hate rankings. Another playoff exit and it’s gonna get ugly.

Yeah, I think Klein was awful. I also think if we have Bernard and Milano we might still have lost. It’s tough.
