So a couple of things-the NFLPA does represent every player, so they aren’t going to let someone take far less than what that players value is. If Josh takes $50-$100 million less to “help the team” what’s going to stop the teams from asking all players to take less? A team certainly isn’t going g to pay more for a WR, DE, LT than they are a top flight QB. Also, this is a business and Josh understands that part too. He feels loyalty to the Bills but he also feels loyalty to every other player in the league. These guys all want to see each other get paid. Josh is going to keep the price somewhat high because that means the next guy and the guy after that will get paid. These GMs and front office people are paid a ton of money as well, it’s not the players job or responsibility to make everything fit under the cap, it’s the front office-so they have to do their job as well

See this is why fans aren’t GMs. We go through this every year-people want to trade away guys when their value is at its lowest. It makes absolutely no sense to trade Kincaid at this point

Out of any of those guys you mentioned, which one did anything of significance last season? The Bills may have let them go because of performance, not cap

Can you explain why the teams and NFL have a problem with STH selling most of their tickets? The team has already gotten the money from those tickets, they’ve already been sold, so why does it matter?

This is one of, if not the weakest sayings in all of sports. Wanting it more, especially when it comes to teams in the playoffs, is absolutely not a thing

It hasn’t really continued though. He made a post, ended up deleting it, then went on a podcast and talked about it. I think there are far too many people who are stuck in the old ways, pre-social media days. This is a negotiation strategy. Many players have used it in the last couple of years. I bet most in here couldn’t even tell you what Cook’s voice sounds like. Guy has been quiet since he’s been here. Took the game day inactives his rookie year like a pro. Has played hard the last 2 years. Has even come out and said he doesn’t want to be a cancer (but way too many people are choosing to ignore that part of what he said, hmmmmm interesting). Nothing over his first 3 seasons has shown anything of a diva attitude. Where was all this anger during the season when he was scoring all those touchdowns? Oh that’s right, there wasn’t any. Now he’s enemy #1? Seems pretty weak to me

Once this comment is used, people lose me. We sit here and demand Von take a pay cut, have another guy restructure, move money to a different spot for this guy…basically saying teams don’t need to honor their contracts. So why do the players always have to honor theirs if teams don’t need to as well?

I was fine with what you were saying until that last sentence. Contracts get changed and not honored by teams all the time, can’t hold players to a different standard. He’s allowed to start re-negotiating after his third year, that’s all he’s doing

So let’s say he did say he wanted to leave? What team would he go to that has a better situation than Buffalo? I’m not convinced there are many out there
