So my OP wasn't based off of yesterday's game, it's based off the fact that he has been in the league several years and has gone to the playoffs only 2 times. The Chargers have invested heavily on the offensive side of the ball to give Herbert weapons. Multiple first round picks used on wide receivers and the offensive line. When he was drafted by them they already had big time weapons in Ekeler and Allen. As a fan of Josh (as we all are) and have had to defend him from criticsm for years, I think it is more than fair that it is now time during this offseason for Herbert to face his fair share of criticism. The guy has somehow escaped it ever since he came into the league, and I hope people are finally starting to see what I've been seeing for a while

Russell Wilson threw for 250 yards in the second half yesterday…the Bills can put up points on that defense

They literally said the day he signed that he knew what he was signing up for. There were no promises made, he was signed to the PS not the active roster, and my guess is that you would’ve crushed both Hyde and the Bills if he did in fact play and got burned a couple of times

As I mentioned in my OP, I think he is really talented. That being said, he should not be above criticism and for some reason he largely is. Outside of perhaps Mahomes, go through any QB other than Herbert who most would say are, let’s say, the top 8 QBs in the league and they all get criticized. Herbert has gone to the playoffs twice, lost both games, has missed the playoffs several times, so I don’t understand why he gets to skate by

Absolutely people do/did. All offseason he was very much in the discussion of being in the top 5. I’m not saying I agree with that, clearly I don’t, but he is always mentioned as a top guy. Same with Stroud, but his team won so I will hold off on him for now

Yea he was-I didn’t see him during the game but I saw a bunch of pics and videos of him in the sideline before the game. Him and Dell were both there

Watching this game should let us all know how lucky we are to have Josh on our team. Herbert is unbelievably talented, but it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t have “it”. Somehow year after year this guy has avoided criticism, so if there isn’t a “Herbert is overrated” club I would like to officially start it. To me, the difference between what Josh brings to the table and what Herbert does is the size of the Grand Canyon. If there is anyone who still thinks Herbert is a top 5 QB, please let me know what you see in him, because he’s not the guy

If the Chargers don’t win, Herbert better start getting criticized finally in his career. He is unbelievably talented, but he’s just not THE guy

If you read the other thread about Cooper, people were definitely questioning him I wonder if any of them are going to eat crow publicly about what they said....I'm guessing no

I’ve said it many times on here before-the negative posters look at these situations as a win win. If the Bills win, nobody cares what they said, they don’t get held accountable and they get to celebrate with everyone else. If the Bills lose, there are some in here who get to say “I told you so” and to them that is more important than the team actually having success

It was a meaningless week 18 game, one that he hardly would’ve played in, calm down. Also, football is a game, it’s literally just a game. Nobody is owed any sort of explanation at all

What the over/under on how many replies it takes before some a**hole is legit pissed at Cooper, calling him overpriced/bad teammate, etc

I do find it quite entertaining at how upset people get because he doesn’t give straight answers. I don’t really understand why people think any coaches are going to give straight answers or why they feel entitled to it

Define “a lot of experts” I read that as you think most experts will choose Denver, which isn’t true. Are there going to be some that choose Denver? Sure, you are very rarely going to see the experts all pick one team in the playoffs.

It’s going to be next to impossible for them to create pressure, keep him from rolling out, AND keep coverage on everybody

So I’m not saying he can’t/won’t be a pro bowler, but do you actually think this or do you just really really really hope this could happen? If he had been a 2nd/3rd round pick from Kansas instead of the undrafted local boy would you still think the same thing based off what you have seen?

Look, I’ve been railing against Burrow all week….for MVP. The guy is definitely a pro bowler this year. Honestly, winning should never be brought into the conversation when people are talking about Herbert. 1 playoff game his entire career so far (yes I know they are playing next week)
