  1. What do you mean pass catching chops? If it's about drops, that narrative is extremely overblown because of his 2nd year. If it's not about that, can you explain?
  2. the same guys who need their deals re-done for Benford, Shakir, Groot, Bernard.....or is it only Cook that makes things not affordable now? Do those other guys not count?
  3. Read @DrDawkinstein comment - Cook is, in absolutely 10000000% whatsoever, going to be the reason they can't sign McGovern in the future. This whole "Cook's contract is going to cost the Bills players in the future" narrative needs to end, and needs to end quickly
  4. Not sure, but I'm positive some on here will blame it on Cook
  5. So I've asked this before but no one answers this - why is it Cook's deal that makes it so they can't sign their OLine? Why isn't it Shakir's deal, or Benford's deal, or Groot's deal? Why is Cook the one that prevents them from making those deals?
  6. Doesn't the longer deal for the same APY actually make it more likely to keep those guys? Your example is $8 mil guaranteed per year, his actual deal is $7.5 mil per year
  7. There are about 10-12 people who have been destroying Cook about all of this-not honoring his contract, non Bills DNA, ME player not team player, he’s a distraction, trade him for anything….looking for their responses to this 🤔🤔
  8. I don’t think this would do anything. Cook is a vet in a familiar system and there’s still several weeks until the first game. He’s sitting out of practice right now because it doesn’t have any bearing on how he In the team will play against Baltimore
  9. They can’t fine him, he’s not doing anything wrong according to the CBA
  10. Great, Josh is still doing commercials? How are the Bills ever going to win a Super Bowl if this guy is off making commercials!! ….in the offseason…when he has time…and is a normal functioning adult and can handle multi-tasking Still, he needs better focus, it’s obvious he’s the reason there hasn’t been a parade! And now he’s gone all Hollywood on us ok, now that that’s out, that first commercial is pretty funny
  11. Honest question-where did you see or hear any reports about this. Just curious because I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere
  12. Bad night: LITERALLY ANYONE WHO IS OVERREACTING TO A PRESEASON GAME!
  13. He showed up for mini camp, he showed up for training camp, the hold in is language that is allowed in his contract. Look at what happened to Rashawn Slater for the Chargers-if Cook blows out his knee during camp he will lose out on ever getting paid. Whether you like it or not, Cook is honoring his contract, he’s not doing anything that breaks it
  14. If he plays and the Bills let him walk, they will get a 3rd round comp pick for him, but your feelings are hurt and you’ll take it whatever you can get for him. This is why fans don’t run teams Your military contract doesn’t have language in there that makes hold ins possible. It’s in the CBA that players are allowed to do this
  15. Well, no, it’s still a hold in…he’s in meetings, he’s watching film, he’s not getting fined for not being there…still a hold in
  16. Also, the Bills just re-signed a bunch of guys this offseason-Rousseau, Shakir, Benford, etc so how do we know those guys won’t cost the Bills any starters? Why is it only Cook whose contract will make it so the team can’t sign any other guys?
  17. For those of you who are upset with Cook's hold in, Rashawn Slater of the Chargers got taken off on a cart today and wasn't able to put weight on his leg. He just got paid - if this happened before he got that record breaking deal, there's a good/great chance he doesn't get that record breaking deal. Cook is taking a major risk by participating in training camp, that's why he isn't participating. You might not like it, but it's not the smartest business decision for him to fully participate
  18. You’re right, I meant to say most fans, which I get, most are fans of the team not of the players
  19. But that's the thing you're not getting - it's not a negative distraction. Like DrDawkenstein said, he's in the meetings, he is watching film, he's talking with his running backs coach, he's just not practicing. Just like the fans are always on the owners side, the players are always on the players side.
  20. Well he was, until he (god forbid) did something as awful as…asking to be paid
  21. It’s a player in a contract situation, they never win the court of public opinion. Just read through the Cook threads now-so many people diminishing his value, calling him selfish, overrated, etc
  22. You are really distorting things comparing Ty to Cook. Ty wasn’t going to get any more money than what he took here. They are not even remotely the same. Here’s the other thing-2 things can be true. Cook has done everything fans wanted him to do. He showed up for mini camp, he showed up to camp, he even did extra work during and after practices those early days. The world is not binary but that’s the only thinking you’re applying to this. Connie’s also in a position (that Johnson NEVER was) to get paid and he is doing things to try and get paid. What if Cook goes to practice and tears his ACL? He will never see that money. Guys can be about the team AND be looking at this from the business side, they’re not mutually exclusive.
  23. The devil you know vs. the devil you don’t people love the devil you don’t
  24. “No shade to Cook” then immediately throws shade at him 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
