NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - post game thread
Ya Digg? replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can keep the first drive in and the Bills played MUCH better than just decent-barely 200 yards of offense, shut down their running game, multiple 4th down stops. The defense was awesome today -

This actually was on the 2 PT conversion, but it was the one that didn’t count because the Bills got a penalty. It was actually a relatively easy completion to Davis -
Bills open as 1.5 point favorites against Bengals(O/U 49)
Ya Digg? replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have been hearing this statement for weeks now, yet they have won 6 in a row. The Bengals are also playing really well, but they also almost lost a 22 point lead today, had to come back from 17 down last week so they have major flaws as well. The Bills don’t NEED to play well in all 3 phases to win. Get a defensive game like they did today and that’s going to go a long way towards a win. They just need to play better than the Bengals do next week-they have 12 wins for a reason this year, I’m confident they will put together a good plan for next week too -

This is one of the weirdest flexes I’ve ever seen here. Calling yourself a Bills fan but can’t wait to fry someone’s ass if they lose. Maybe just stop with the highly emotional bad takes during the game and you don’t have to fry anyone- 458 replies

Uhhhh Davis was also open for the first…how is this Josh’s fault?? -
Not disputing that, like I said it definitely could’ve happened…hard to believe the source though. A disgruntled jets fan accuses the GM who picked Wilson of attacking him. There’s way too many of these stories out there as well where someone who is completely innocent gets accused, their name is dragged through the mud, rep is lost, all that stuff just to find out later someone made it up. All I’m saying is if someone is going to come forward with that, they better have someone or something to back up their story
-
Josh’s contract is fine, the cap is going up big time over the next couple of years, especially now with the new Sunday ticket deal. The Bills aren’t in cap trouble, they have contracts they can easily restructure. If there are guys out there they want to sign from other teams or re-sign their own, they can without much of an issue

Dareus? The guy made the pro bowl
-
Not saying it didn’t happen, but is there anything out there verifying this in fact happened? Or are we just going to believe some random story and just run with it?
-
Wilson is definitely not on the list…yet. Just like the hall of fame, a player needs time to be considered an all time bust. Jamarcus Russell deserves to be up there because people remember how extraordinarily bad he was. Tim Couch is just a forgotten player, so for me he wouldn’t be even in the conversation. Certainly wasn’t a great player, but you don’t really remember anything about him. Can’t label a guy in his second year an all time bust (although that happens here all the time)
-
I think Russell definitely deserves to be on there. Being drafted first automatically puts huge expectations on you-not sure why you would draft someone first if you don’t have huge expectations. Plus the whole coaches giving him a blank DVD thing puts him up on that list. This is very true. Virtually no QB was going to succeed in Cincinnati, same with many of the QBs drafted by the Seahawks. Those 2 franchises at that time makes the dumpster fire that the Bills were during the drought seem like a very small flame

Diggs throwing his helmet and asking for the ball more
Ya Digg? replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
For those of you who think he’s a diva, I need a better explanation than “well listen to his comments when Knox is mic’d up” or because he got frustrated and threw his helmet. Perhaps you need to explain to me what you think a diva is. let’s completely ignore all of the comments he has made publicly since he got here about wanting to win, let’s not pay attention to the videos before games of him playing catch with kids or the video from the game the other day of the gift he gave to that boy, let’s not mention that he was basically the first one on the field after Bass kicked not 1 but 2 game winning kicks (go back and watch the Ravens highlights if you don’t remember) but sure he’s a diva how the %*#^ did this topic reach 6 pages??? -
MVP; Hurts / Allen / Mahomes by the numbers...
Ya Digg? replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure he deserves it but they do like giving it to different guys (yes I know Rodgers win the last 2 years) Even though there’s so much more access to actually watch the players play, the writers still just mainly look at stats. It’s why Rodgers won 2 years ago and it’s probably why Mahomes will win this year. Mahomes has passed for 1000 more yards than Hurts, they can run with the narrative that he did it without Hill, etc -
Diggs throwing his helmet and asking for the ball more

There is so much unnecessary body language reading that goes on in this board. First it’s Cook looking “disinterested” and “clearly he wants out” and all that nonsense. Now people are taking a deep dive into a football player getting angry because the team was having some struggles. Pretty soon there’s going to be threads about the big dubs videos the team puts out….”well Poyer clearly wants out, he didn’t say big dubs as excitedly as last game. I bet it’s his wife making him unhappy she’s just after his money anyway” -
Regarding Milano (who absolutely should have made it) look at the guys who did - they are all pass rushing linebackers, they get all of the stats and glory. TJ Watt was out for a while and still made it because his primary job is to get to the QB. Milano doesn't get as many sacks, fumbles, pressures, etc so unfortunately many people are too lazy to vote for him

MVP; Hurts / Allen / Mahomes by the numbers...
Ya Digg? replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let’s be honest this award has become a who puts up the best stats as a QB award, it’s no longer MVP. To think that it’s not is naive. When you look at the stats Mahomes has a sizable advantage over the other 2, it’s his award to lose and I’m not sure there’s enough time for either guy to catch him -
So, reading the board, we lost again. 3-11. Sigh.

Read people’s posts, I absolutely do think people on here aren’t aware of other teams flaws. There’s new excuses every week as to why the Bills WON’T (not can’t) beat certain teams. I am certain there are posters on here who are almost as interested to be able to say “I told you so” if the Bills lose as they are to see the Bills win in the end -

Ya Digg? replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
No what’s mind numbing is reading week after week how this team isn’t good enough to beat (insert team here) because of whatever reason you want to come up with-yet the team keeps winning. Also there’s no acknowledgment that the other teams that the Bills apparently can’t beat also have flaws. I think everyone on here can say that the O line is needs to improve, receivers outside of Diggs need to be more consistent, the corners are struggling…but can you honestly watch KC, the Bengals, Dallas, and Philly and honestly say the Bills can’t beat them? That’s what people are getting tired with around here. We scrutinize every little thing about the Bills here-it’s a Bills discussion board, that can/should happen-but just look at stats and highlights of the other teams and some assume I’m here that the Bills can’t hang. Be negative, no problem with that, but realize other teams have flaws too and maybe, just maybe this lowly Bills team that is currently the 1 seed in the AFC has as good a shot as any of them (if not better in some cases) of holding that Lombardi trophy in the end. -

Ya Digg? replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point it’s because they don’t want to. They have to know that other teams are struggling too, but they refuse to acknowledge that. It’s just like all of the media that trashed Josh for so long and the refused to admit he is actually a top 2 QB in the league -

They’re paid like they are though! 😂 -
And we used 6 first round picks on him…or was that for Allen? I get so confused with the math some people use around here, especially when it comes to draft picks
-
He didn’t have much value on this team. At best he would be the 5th receiver so there would be a bunch of games where he wouldn’t even dress. Not a huge loss for this team, good for him for catching a couple of touchdowns. Let’s not make it sound like the Bills lost a potential #2 receiver though
