  1. He is not bad .. he is actually quite good with still a ton of upside if his mind ever matches his freakish athleticism. People will pay for what he has done but also for what he could become. I understand not signing him as the sticker price is high, but those thinking he is a bum are just not being realistic. He was a good draft pick that had a chance to be awesome and he just remained very good
  2. I found it Easier to sit through the 4 amazing yrs which ended in Super Bowl sadness than to be the younger group like my son who until 2017 never saw the Bills sniff the playoffs
  3. Yeah .. rough math day .. in this case he is middle of he pack. I was thinking about these other stats when I was referring to the top of the 2nd tier of WRs - 33rd in the league in yards per game with 55.7 .. 4 yds less than DK Metcalf. - 33rd in total receiving yards at 836 yds .. (he missed 2 games). If you add in the 11 yards on average he would have caught it would have put him right behind Jerry Juedy in 24th place. - he tied for 15th in TDs with 7 As to the comment that 1/2 the teams would like an upgrade to their second receiver, that is true for second DE, interior lineman. The Bengals have two great WRs but they lack elsewhere. All teams want to upgrade wherever they can, the question is whether WR is as big of a hole as some other positions for the Bills - OLine to me is the bigger need.
  4. 48 th or 53rd .. with 32 NFL teams that would put him in the top grouping of 2nd receivers
  5. There was a good write-up on this related to JA17's injury. Short to intermediate throws put more torque on the elbow. They went to the longer passing game out of necessity to protect Josh's elbow
  6. Receiving including WR and TEs Gabe was - 33rd in the league in yards per game with 55.7 .. 4 yds less than DK Metcalf. - 33rd in total receiving yards at 836 yds .. (he missed 2 games). If you add in the 11 yards on average he would have caught it would have put him right behind Jerry Juedy in 24th place. - he tied for 15th in TDs with 7 The Bills had some of the worst weather games in the league. This is not taken into account when looking at stats but will always play a part in better numbers for other teams who have mainly good weather games.really bad weather all year. His numbers scream a number 2 receiver. His drop numbers were horrible and he does need to learn a broader route tree, but he is 4th round receiver going into his 4th year. If the Bills spent their first three draft picks on OL and no receivers I would be thrilled. Josh not getting killed will make our existing receivers better and we have a great one (Diggs), a very good one (Davis), and a promising youngster (Shakir)
  7. This to me shows they were best in the league for a 3 year period and then 11th for the subsequent 3 year period ( though the 2nd set will likely change as those players continue to develop - for good or bad). It seems like People have unrealistic expectations that every high draft pick should develop into a perennial all-pro. They view Edmunds as a bust .. yet the league will soon say via a contract that he is very good. We look at Gabe Davis, who had a rough year, and write him off yet when his time comes he too will get a nice contract .. and lest we forget he was a 4th round pick. I like this analysis as it compares the Bills drafting to other teams .. rather in the imaginary bubble where all other teams have rocked the last 6 drafts
  8. Are you implying Tyler Matakwvich wasn’t our 5th best defender??? Outrageous… they need to sign him to a 10 million dollar contract before he is poached. I cannot imagine our defense without him. Soooooo impactful
  9. Nothing Earth shattering .. but some questions more about life https://www.wsj.com/articles/stefon-diggs-damar-hamlin-recovery-buffalo-bills-routine-11675658919
  10. Josh Allen can also free up a bunch of space for the team. Sporttrac did analysis on the 2023 Bills. Solid read as it breaks down what they anticipate fre agents would cost to resign and breaks down the cap numbers of those that are not free agents this year to an extent. https://www.spotrac.com/research/nfl/whats-next-buffalo-bills-1754/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  11. I have enjoyed these last 5 years of football and am happy that we have a tandem that works to ensure the culture and the talent can put the team in a position to win a Super Bowl. For the last 3 years if things had gone differently they were good enough to get the Lomabardi. As Josh stated, only one team feels good at the end of the year and quite often it is not the best team from that year. It is the NFL and things happen, and this year lots happened. It seems only a few weeks ago people on the board where saying no matter what happened they would understand given what the team went through .. apparently many were not of that mindset. My wish list is 1) Improved OLine; 2) Faster reads and throws from Josh. Burrow was not touched in part because he threw it in around 2 seconds on average while Josh was at over 3 seconds. 3) Another DL rusher.
  12. Von with cameos by Tre and Cole on the Pat McAfee show. Really good interview! talks about how he came up with the motivation technique, his work with Brandon, being around damar, ...
  13. Cappa, Williams and backup CB Trey Flowers all still DNP for Bengals https://www.bengals.com/team/injury-report/ I hope they get better next week
  14. I have a friend who is a Bengals fan attending the game. I told him that as long as he and his son are not obnoxious they would be treated well. I suggested he go to hammer Lot and try Bar-Bill Tavern. Would this be considered good advice or might they have problems at the stadium / Hammer Lot.
  15. Bengals injury report from PFT The Bengals called right guard Alex Cappa and left tackle Jonah Williams week-to-week because of injuries heading into this week and Wednesday’s practice report brought little reason to think that either player will be ready to go against the Bills this Sunday. Cappa and Williams both sat out the team’s first practice of the week. Cappa is dealing with an ankle injury that also kept him out against the Ravens in the Wild Card round and Williams left that 24-17 win with a dislocated kneecap. Max Scharping played in place of Cappa and Jackson Carman took over for Williams. The Bengals are also starting Hakeem Adeniji at right tackle in place of La'el Collins. Cornerback Tre Flowers (hamstring) and defensive tackle D.J. Reader (rest) were also out of practice. Cornerback Eli Apple (neck), defensive end Joseph Ossai (shoulder), and safety Michael Thomas (hamstring) were full participants in practice.
  16. That was prior to the Dolphins game and therefore things could have changed (better progress than expected). Nobody is officially ruled out until the week of the game.
  17. I will respect what he has accomplished .. but not his demeanor. Another case of him being above the law after a pick this week he slid at the legs of the ball carrier.. now we know where the baby goat gets it https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/17/tom-brady-gets-away-with-a-dirty-move-for-now/
  18. It seems that historically he has had few turnovers in the red zone. This is new and similar to the Bills can’t win one score games (just remember a few short months ago when their was handwringing on that topic) i believe this too shall return to the mean . Is the John Brown failed bomb that got picked 60 yds down the field considered a red zone int or only those where the team is in the red zone at the start of the play?
  19. It happens .. at least you didn’t create the infamous the Bills have been historically healthy post at the start of the year right before a tidal wave of injuries like I did .. the response was brutal.
  20. Discusses what he saw / felt, His texts with Damar’s dad (finish the mission). talks Pats game and a few other things
  21. The Ravens didn’t play mistake free and barely lost to Cincy on the road.. Josh had to be very good but not necessarily mistake free.
