  1. Will the Bengals win playing the way they did? They should have lost that game the Chiefs lost to the Colts and wen to overtime with the Texans. The next game is different than this game .. hopefully they make fewer mistakes granted.
  2. There are many Muslims in the NFL as well and likely other religeons. The players have the right to share their beliefs on such things and we have the right to listen or even to care or not. As an example Aaron Rodgers has discussed his leaving Christianity .. which is his prerogative. I personally have led youth groups for decades and I am thrilled that Josh has felt drawn closer to God where an atheist may feel sorry for him as they would believe he is wasting his time. I think the article was interesting as it impacts our star player and I was happy to read it, but as a football site I think we should be careful about going too far down a rabbit hole that is more about our belief in God (or lack of belief) than it is about what Josh has been dealing with.
  3. What happens to significant players on other teams directly impacts the Bills. Unless the Bills no longer have to worry about playing the Ravens .. it is relevant
  4. Lamar wants a fully guaranteed monster contract. He has missed significant playing time the last two years and stated yesterday that his knee is not 100% .. still swollen. The contract negotiation this offseason will be interesting. I hope the Ravens blink and give him a top contract, but they do not seem to be that kind of organization. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/12/lamar-jackson-my-knee-remains-inflamed-and-unstable/
  5. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/12/bills-sign-cole-beasley-to-53-man-roster/ As a corresponding move, Buffalo released offensive lineman Justin Murray.
  6. Thank you Jets for being so blatantly dysfunctional… you give me added hope that you will remain irrelevant. Sincerely, The Bills, Dolphins, and Patriots
  7. Damar taking tests in the hopes of being discharged from the hospital .. see you Sunday Damar https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/10/damar-hamlin-is-taking-tests-in-the-hopes-of-being-sent-home/
  8. Per Peter King: "The vote to approve the proposal was 25 in favor (24 were needed for a three-quarters approval), four abstentions, three no votes. Kansas City, Buffalo, Las Vegas and the Chargers abstained. Cincinnati, Miami and Chicago voted no—all, presumably, on the basis of being against changing a rule eight days before the playoffs begin." The proposal was all good for Buffalo, and abstaining had the same effect as a no vote. I think it was pretty classy of Buffalo to basically say, this helps us so we are not going to be part of the number needed to make it happen. It potentially hurts the Chiefs since if they used the old rules where it is based on percentage .. they would have hosted us if we meet in the AFC Campionship.
  9. Classy https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/06/damar-hamlin-named-nflpa-community-mvp-for-week-18/ “On behalf of Damar Hamlin, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude and humility towards the NFLPA community for selecting Damar as a NFLPA Community MVP,” Hamlin’s family said in a statement. “Damar holds firm that leadership is best displayed through servitude, and the community’s generosity will allow Damar to continue serving those in need.” Hamlin will be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award at the end of the season, although no award is likely to adequately note the impact that Hamlin’s fight has had on so many people this week.
  10. I didn't see the full Dane Jackson / Mitch Morris press conference 28 minutes long. Great insights.
  11. Interview with Colts S Rodney Thomas high school teammate of Damar .. he visited Damar before he woke up .. and the emotion shows the weight that the players were feeling before he woke up. I found it very powerful. CNN has the audio for free. It was Greek to me .. but some of you might understand it and find it interesting. https://www.cnn.com/videos/sports/2023/01/06/damar-hamlin-collapse-emt-audio-ctn-contd-vpx.cnn
  12. I am surprised there is no mention of a scenario where if the Bills play the Bengals in the divisional round that there would be a coin flip for that since the Bengals would be the 2 seed if they beat the Ravens and if they had defeated the Bills. In the scenarios laid out the Bills are treated favorably.
  13. A couple of videos about Damar (if they are buried above and I missed them sorry) .. 1 is an interview with Maddie and Micah with Damar. 2) Is his draft family video
  14. Injured December 12, diagnosed with ACL tear on December 13th .. surgery on January 4. What is the likelihood that the best QBs in the league, Mahomes, Burrow, JA17 wait 3+ weeks to get this surgery? I am thinking 0.0%. He just does not seem to be focused on being the best he can be and doesn't seem to care to much for what is best for the team. Maybe there was some extenuating circumstances .. just doesn't smell right. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/cardinals-kyler-murray-undergoes-successful-surgery-reportedly-needed-acl-reconstruction-and-meniscus-repair/ar-AA15YSFa
  15. Agreed .. The Bengals have won 3 straight against the Chiefs and the Bills are 2-1 with Josh walking off the field in the loss with the lead.
  16. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/04/momentum-builds-for-cancelation-of-bills-bengals-game/ per PFT the league is leaning toward no contest with playoff positioning decided by win percentage.
  17. I would think it is Daboll or shanahan given he has the 49ers as one of the favorites for the Super Bowl with a third string Mr. irrelevant QB
  18. A little bit of a different concept week 18 plays out . If all 3 win, chiefs top seed, Bengals2, Bills 3 - but the Bills get the bye in the wild card round. Gives the Bills a chance to recover and gives the Bengals and Chiefs homefield for the divisional round. Nothing will be totally fair but this makes it as fair as can be without replaying the Bengals game
  19. I have always been a build a team for a long run vs a buy a team for a year kind of guy. It changed a bit for me this year as I was diagnosed with cancer in October and later diagnosed as stage 4 since it has spread. I am not working today as I started my 5th round of chemo. So given my odds of being around longer term aren’t overly great I was really hoping for a Super Bowl this year because I am not certain if I get a next season. Having said all that, and I am fine as i am in my 50s and have had a great life, seeing a young man in that situation really broke me. I have shed a few tears about the cancer, but nothing like what I have shed for Damar. Him surviving would be greater than a SB victory for me personally. I have worked as a volunteer with teens for decades and when one of them achieves her / his dreams it is so rewarding for all that were involved with her / him making it. By all accounts he is a solid young man and I want with all that is in me for him to survive and thrive.
  20. They corrected that statement. He only had the cardiac arrest on the field. The uncle misspoke when he said there was a second instance at the hospital
  21. He is just one of those guys you expect will be back on the Bills on a veteran minimum contract to end his career
