  1. I want this to be a place where despite people's contrarian opinions on the Bills they are free to : listen to my takes which are without gaps or errors including but not limited to understanding who messed up on a given play based on the play call as I have access to the helmet microphone and can hear Daboll talking to Josh accept my totally true guesses rumors I heard from someone deep within the inner circles of one bills drive aid me in getting my millions of dollars from Kenya (I am a Prince) into America .. I just need your bank routing number and you will be able to keep 25% .. just list your personal email and riches will soon be heading your way share recipes for Biskuti ya nazi' (coconut macaroons) which are a traditional kenyan dessert and proof of my Prince status
  2. Especially true given that Baker has stated they need to force feed OBJ this week .. though getting a rush on Baker so his throws are not crisp will be equally important. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2861669-browns-baker-mayfield-wants-to-force-feed-odell-beckham-jr-amid-struggles
  3. Raiders play @KC and @Chargers .. all else are bad teams. Would be best if Chargers win.
  4. I loved Chris Spielman, but the days of the guy sitting in the middle just plugging the run are gone .. if the MLBer can't cover the TE , RB on passes and go sideline to sideline on runs .. he will struggle. Think Luke Kuechly not Spielman. This is an older but decent article on the transformation of the role. https://www.theringer.com/2016/8/25/16044526/nfl-linebacker-position-evolution-deone-bucannon-mark-barron-6bd005ab96b
  5. Per the board we have several significant busts .. Allen, Edmunds, Ford, and Oliver. Why not try this: - Allen (a high ceiling prospect who needed time to groom) time is up move him to TE. Trade for Josh Rosen after the season since if you ignore the tape, he is clearly a product of a bad system and is in fact Pro-Ready but can be had for a fourth or fifth. - Ford (who after 8 games will clearly never be a starting level player) - Move to a blocking TE and bring back Jordan Mills as he was much more consistent. - Edmunds (freak athlete but can't man the middle). Give him a try at TE because he has a unique skill set that will allow him to beat LBers in space. - Oliver (never has it been so clear after 8 games that someone will never be able to make the leap to be a DT in the league). I would think you should shift him to TE as he is fast and big. Matt Barkley throwing to our new 4 TE set would be unstoppable. Go Bills.
  6. Hogan was ok .. not anything special as many Bills fans feared as they are always worried Belichick will turn our trash into an all-pro. As for Trubisky .. yes I knew you were not talking about him, but that is the crap shoot that is the NFL Draft. many thought that Trubisky, Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, and yes Josh Allen were franchise guys .. but you just don't know. If anyone had foresight that Mahomes would play like Mahomes ... they would have traded whatever it took to get to the number 1 spot. Nobody was that certain .. so while only 10 teams passed on Mahomes in a sense they all did.
  7. Not certain if this was already posted but the browns are planning to use Kareem Hunt this week. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/11/04/kareem-hunt-will-have-a-role-with-browns-this-week/. They already have Chubb so other than we do not know what to expect from their use of Hunt .. I am not certain it is a big difference, but for a team grasping for any positive .. this is likely one thing they can look forward to.
  8. I had many thoughts about what would happen this season, but none that I posted and certainly none that went against conventional wisdom like this one ... well done @BringBackFergy.As for all of those that put money on the Bills greater than 6.5 wins ... It would be an upset of epic proportions if the Bills did not make that total at this point as (0-8) with our remaining schedule would be nearly impossible.
  9. Will know a lot based on whether he gets elevated to the Colts 53 man roster (which I would suspect). If Jacoby is out a few weeks, I could see him getting time if Hoyer struggles. Jacoby is cementing his place as starter, so it might be an interview for another team.
  10. Hmmm .. I wonder if we would get the same consideration .... need 8 months to gather more information .. that is some serious investigations for a straightforward situation. What are the odds that the initial discussion that led to the agreement to postpone until March were had in a comfortable box shaped office high over a stadium. https://www.newscentermaine.com/article/sports/patriots-patrick-chung-to-return-to-court-after-season-ends/97-de319365-3ab0-4a43-804b-e1eed5368e3c.
  11. Mitch Trubisky and who is the other one you are referring to? All teams pass on great players that they do not know are going to be great .. except the all knowing Patriots. Just curious if you think they let Tom Brady last to the 6th round if they had any premonition as to what he would turn out to be? The answer is of course not. The Patsies have "stolen" Scott Chandler, Chris Hogan, Mike Gillislee, and Alan Branch .. and only Gilmore has really worked out. Bottom line is he was a very good player for us and based on his abilities, his desire to be excellent, and some great coaching he has risen (looked shaky at the start of his tenure) to be the best. Kudos to him and the Pats.
  12. Perhaps he is blaming all three and he is saying we have learned from the past and he isn't necessarily talking about just trades, rather all personnel decisions that basically put them in cap hell or impacted their draft capital. You need to balance both. In this case some of the trades being discussed were for players on expiring contracts or solid players asking for exorbitant dollars. They made the call to stick with what they have .. keeping their draft picks and not limiting their cap space. It can be an excuse to blame the old regime .. but if mentioned as a here was our starting point it is probably fine. I don't think he views himself and Beane as separate entities in these decisions (unlike many GM / HC situations they are fairly joined at the hip. It is certainly not sign of incompetence to admit to your failings. People who don't never grow and get better.
  13. You want your quarterback to not like losing .. but you also want a quarterback that can handle adversity. Adversity happens unless you are on the Hoodie's team and if you can't handle it you are going to struggle to lead your team. having said that it is way too early to say he will get a bust or be a bust.
  14. When he was drafted he was considered by all to be the rawest QB with the highest upside. We are basically one full year of starts into his tenure as our starting quarterback and people seem surprised that he needs to develop. Actually .. in many ways he appears to be ahead of schedule. He is a leader on and off the field and while he needs to deliver consistently he has shown that he can deliver especially in crunch time. "139.6 = NFL-leading fourth quarter passer rating His completion percentage might be a bit behind the league’s best. His touchdown to interception ratio is an even 1:1, and he’s averaging just 220 passing yards per game. But even Josh Allen will tell you, he’s all about the ‘W’s, which is why when the game is on the line the Bills quarterback is at his best. Prime evidence of that comes in the measure of Allen’s play come the fourth quarter. Allen currently leads the league in fourth quarter passer rating with a mark of 139.6. The next closest players, who have appeared in all of their team’s games this season are Atlanta’s Matt Ryan (130.5) and Houston’s DeShaun Watson (116.9). Allen’s completion percentage in the fourth quarter jumps more than five percent from his season total as he’s completing close to 69 percent of his passes (68.8%). His yards per attempt of 9.75 in the fourth quarter also leads the league and his touchdown percentage of 12.5 percent also leads all quarterbacks who have started all of their team’s games thus far. Buffalo’s lead signal caller has four touchdown passes in the fourth quarter against no interceptions. Two of those fourth quarter touchdown passes happened this past Sunday in what wound up being Allen’s fifth fourth-quarter comeback in just 17 starts." this quote comes from this link ... https://www.buffalobills.com/news/josh-allen-leads-nfl-quarterbacks-in-this-category-plus-8-other-noteworthy-numbe If you were a wrong Josher because he was never going to develop accuracy .. well he has certainly grown in that area and you probably need to give him time to see where he ends up in a year or so. If you were a right Josher you signed up that he was a developmental guy and you should be happy with the progress.
  15. Football is a true team sport .. Archie Manning, Dan Fouts and many others were great QBs hampered by bad organizations. I prefer Josh "not the other" Allen over Darnold, but it is far from a certainty he will be the better QB. By this metric Ws and Ls Lamar Jackson is the best of the QBs last year .. and I just don't see it. Rosen looks shot, but the rest are still up for debate.
  16. There are some who think JA is the second coming, but most of his defenders including myself have a different viewpoint. When Josh was in the draft process most stated he had the highest upside but would either take time to develop or for the pessimists that he would never develop. If we had drafted Baker, Sam, or the other Josh we would be feeling more nervous because our pro-ready quarterback was not pro-ready. Josh has exceeded the expectations of where most "experts" and "JA haters" thought he would be.. and they reluctantly state he is not as bad as they thought. Terrific ...if he continues to progress toward his ceiling then he will be the QB we have long coveted, but given his starting point you would be foolish to give up on him .. or on the flip side based on where he is it would be foolish to crown him. The rest of this year and the beginning of next will tell a lot. I for one am cautiously optimistic.
  17. Here is a nice place that Buffalo stands apart .. they have had Devin Singletary and Taron Johnson close to coming back .. instead of forcing the issue they give them an extra week .. to a point above .. with the Cordy Glenn, Trent Williams, and now this situation ... free agents will notice.
  18. When you draft JA .. you expect that he will be outperformed his first few years. He is not one of the best QBs in the league, however, he has made surprisingly fast strides .. 52% completion percentage last year ... into the 60s this year; taken over leadership of the team; respected by his teammates. That is what you should have been hoping for. If he can continue analyzing his own game and making strides he will come closer to his very high ceiling which was the highest in that draft class. That ceiling won't be hit this year though, and that is perfectly fine .. just part of the process.
  19. Not implying JA is an all time great or even overly good at this point. My points are a) these "journalists" pull a single statistic and make it overly important b) the dudes have had an axe to grind on josh allen and to an earlier posters point .. they push all Baker mayfield stuff under the rug because coming out they had JA as a bust and Baker as an all-time draft pick c) they have some serious issues with the Bills - do I think we are a top 6 team .. probably not, but as mentioned earlier they dropped the Bills from 10th to 20th after the bye .. behind Tennessee in their power rankings .. explain that... https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-7-power-rankings
  20. JA has a lot of room for improvement, but this list just shows you how meaningless a lot of these statistics are. Winston and Mariota 6 & 7 ... one is benched and one may be soon. These are the same people who dropped the Bills one spot from 19 to 20th (behind the Titans) in their Power rankings. Really almost comical... https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-7-power-rankings.
  21. Then there is PFF who generously moved us up to number 19. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2019-pff-week-6-nfl-power-rankings But they watch every snap so it must be true .. maybe they missed the 4 wins and the near loss to NE or they are mistakenly watching film from last year.
