  1. Could it be that the Giants were interested in Daboll but wanted to find out what one of the people Daboll has gone against him thinks about him. Would you say hey we are also considering Daboll for this job - would you get an honest answer out of Flores his competition? Instead you flip it around a bit .. hey we hear Daboll is unhappy in Buffalo .. what do you think about him as a possible OC on your staff - my guess is Flores would provide a much truer answer. I do similar things (though I don't actually make stuff up) while in interviews. I don't ask what are your strengths and weaknesses .. I ask "what is the most difficult thing somebody has said about you, work related, that you later realized was true", and "if i spoke with your previous supervisor they would say all these nice things about you (whatever the person has told me so far) ... but they said .. there is one thing I would like to see {name} work on .. what do you think that would be?" I am not saying that this isn't true, but I think it is far from a far gone conclusion that in the interview process the Giants could have made that up .. never expecting it to see the light of day. One could argue Daboll could have said something to refute it after it came out .. but is he going to call out his new bosses as liars. In the end sometimes there is fire with the smoke .. and sometimes there is just smoke .. we will likely never really know which it was in this case.
  2. For all those pining for cordarelle Patterson it appears that the Falcons (per their owner) are working toward resigning him https://www.profootballrumors.com/2022/02/falcons-have-discussed-new-deal-with-rb-cordarrelle-patterson#ref=home
  3. This I think is what is also holding back Eric Bieniemy. Andy Reid calls the plays and the view is that Mahommes dropped into the league as a stud so what has Bieniemy done .. whereas Daboll is credited (whether or not it is deserved) with changing Josh from a perceived bust-worthy draft pick into a top 3 quarterback.
  4. so either Isaiah is trying to get one last favor from Bills mafia or he is open to returning. Either way, he has been a good Buffalo Bill and he does have nice dance moves .. so a little support would not hurt. Isaiah did retweet this .. so it is a legit favor request.
  5. Obviously it doesn't mean anything, but it is enjoyable to see him suck so bad. As a comparison, the NFC QB Russell Wilson only missed a few.
  6. Very good insights into what went wrong (D pre-snap out of position) and what could have been done on the 13 seconds, the season (getting home-field advantage), etc. It is long, but worth it.
  7. She asked great questions and was charming and he was very good at answering .. even though he didn't know her. He is just a very genuine guy. Talked about his TD dance he is working on Favorite team growing up Gave advise for how to fulfill your dreams. Worth the three minutes.
  8. If I was a candidate for OC or QB coach .. if I had to choose between any other teams and the Bills, Chiefs, Chargers or Bengals .. I would take the Bills, Chiefs, Chargers or Bengals. I would want to be with Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, or Burrow. It is almost a lottery ticket to move to the next level. I am confused by the Bienemy thing as he may just be a terrible interviewer, but Kafka is already being discussed as a future HC. In the end, I would be shocked if Dorsey is not a HC in 2 years due to coaching Josh.
  9. Based on looking who we got as Carolina North .. I would think Buffalo East would target some guys that have the right "mental make-up" to break the losing culture while they do a full rebuild even though the players they steal are not great or past their prime. Feliciano, Taiwan Jones, Levi Wallace, Boettgger are possible cuts / free agents I could see them attracted to.
  10. So while rightfully ticked .. this is not about race. It is about the thing that drives hirings in the NFL .. personal relationships. Mara may well have been interested in Flores on January 11, but then he hired his GM .. the GM did what seemingly most new GMs do .. they bring in somebody they know who they feel they can work with. I have seen this in the workplace .. we are going to hire Sally but we need to interview 3 candidates to satisfy a rule by HR, so two people get interviewed when the hiring manager has no intention of offering them the job. The NFL does have a nepotism / friend problem, how many Ryan's, Shanahan's, Shula's, Belichick's, Reid's ... have gotten into coaching and then their friends, who are in their circles (and friend groups often look like the person) get opportunities .... so I am not saying that black coaches have a harder time .. they do, but not because of their skin .. but because of the relationships. This I suspect will change over time and the Rooney rule I think has helped Bottom-line the owner of the Dolphins didn't fire Flores because of his skin color, he fired him because the relationship wasn't working for the owner and he had an under .500 winning percentage over three years (I am just guessing if he had taken the team to the playoffs this year .. he would still be the coach). The Giants didn't hire Daboll because he is white and Flores is black.. they hired Daboll because Schoen was comfortable with him based on their working relationship .. and they were only going to interview Flores to avoid a penalty from the league.
  11. So there is a good possibility there are fans of different genders / ages here .. can the RACK garbage stop. This is about a new OC .. and it would be nice to think that we could refrain from swimsuit pictures
  12. Not bad for a physical freak without the accuracy to play NFL football.
  13. What I would like to see https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ Contract changes Have Cole take a pay cut or just cut him (I like Cole a lot, but his price is too high for the production, could save 6.1 M by cutting him) Have Klein take a pay cut or just cut him (I think he is replaceable and you could save over $5 mil by cutting him) Have Feliciano take a pay cut or just cut him (He is a good backup .. like his toughness, but can save 3.5 million by cutting him and the line looked better without him) Cut Tyler Matakavich. save 2.5 million (doesn't add enough to justify keeping him) Cut Cody Ford. Save 1.5 M. Cut Matt Haack if another viable punter comes up. Extend Diggs (22.2 M est.), Knox (8.3 M est.) - negative hit to the salary cap Note: Star not included because almost all of his salary has been guaranteed at this point) Resignings (estimates are based off of a few different web-sites .. so just guesses) Harrison Phillips (5.4 M est.) Justin Zimmer Ryan Bates Jerry Hughes (3.3M est.), Levi Wallace (9.6 M est.), Efe Obada, Ike Boettger, Tyler Dodson, and Siran Neal if their respective prices do not get too high Others I would like to see them add DE Shaq Lawson - The current coaches got the best out of him. 1 year prove it deal TE Mo Alie-Cox (7 M est.) or O.J. Howard (2.2 M est.) RB Rashad Penny or RB/KR Cordarelle Patterson (6 M est.) - elite kick returner, can handle the Isaiah gadget plays S Terrell Edmunds WR Laquon Treadwell - I thought very highly of him coming out of college and he never put it together. Would be cheap. CB Donte Jackson (10 M est.) Given they are not flush with cash, the best thing to do is see who gets cut by other teams that will want to do a prove it deal later in free agency (e.g., Trubisky)
  14. It isn't at all, very blessed with good health, a great family including 1 grandchild and one on the way, great friends, and a good job.If the NFL went out of business I would be disappointed, but it would not wreck my life. I think if it wasn't the up and down of that last two minutes where I went from excitement to disappointment to jubilation to shock .. I would have been fine. Just crazy. Thank you though .. it was good advice though as some have mentioned mental struggles.
  15. I have high hopes for the future .. but it is really hitting me that we had it within reach. The closest I ever felt, before the last Bills TD in this game, to wow we have a great shot to win the Super Bowl was after the 51-3 dismantling of the Raiders in 1990. I keep thinking I want to watch the game again, but then it will only make me second guess every little thing. Truly expect great things in the years to come .. hopefully that starts with not giving away home field advantage next year.
  16. https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/aaron-rodgers-davante-adams-love-broncos-trade sports illustrated story .. discussing Rodgers + relationship with Hackett and the desire of Adams and Rodgers to stay together. What a division Indeed. Could help us get top seed next year
  17. You do realize that on the TD is was their CB Hughes that he beat .. right? On the final TD he beat Snead another CB. Also .. just wondering if you think Hill goes off for 150 if Tre was there. Nobody in KC even would say at this point in his career Honey Badger is anywhere near as good as Tre White.
  18. They beat us on a coin flip .. and while they were about Honey badger .. we were without Tre .. Tre would have been more impactful in that game than the Hone Badger IMO.
  19. I think that is the point … players took less money to play with Brady because they wanted to play with Brady and win. Money for a lot of these guys is the most important factor but if you take a few hundred thousand less but got to play with Brady … it was viewed by many as worth it. The Pats had players they shouldn’t have been able to get at the price they paid. That plus Brady and Belichick were the principle reasons they stayed on top for so long .. good thread @JerseyBills
  20. Not many free agents on our team they expect to resign .. mention two possible cap targets Beas and Morse. For those Edmunds people .. no benefit to getting rid of him. One extension candidate they mention is Diggs. https://www.spotrac.com/research/nfl/2022-nfl-offseason-series-afc-east-1351/ good analysis in general though high-level
  21. Almost every coach takes that timeout because it causes the defense to better understand what is coming if the offense doesn’t change or it causes the offense to go to a secondary play that they like less than the first one called. It appears it was Kelce who spotted something… so kudos to him. I hate the result but I would be surprised if you see any coach use their timeout differently in that situation
  22. Amazing response .. you entered this thread .. told me to shut up and not read the threads if I don’t like them. So If you didn’t like this why did you read the thread?? To the old argument of 4 out of 5 years .. the non-playoff streak was a lot older. We have been capable of getting to the Super Bowl for the last two years … both times we lost to KC at KC … I get that it sucks .. but the burn the house down crowd are delusional.
  23. https://www.yahoo.com/now/bills-devastated-hurt-heartbreaking-loss-143627023.html A snippet "Fellow safety, Micah Hyde, talked about the bond in the locker room and how tough moments like this really dawn on you once the clock runs down to zero. “Something you don’t really think about until you take the last snap,” Hyde said. “Walking off the field you realize, this is the NFL. You don’t have the same roster each and every year, coaches included. We’ve been together… a lot of us have been together for five years and that might not be the case… we’re literally like brothers in the locker room. We’ve celebrated, we’ve failed together, we’ve cried together, we’ve laughed together throughout the years and then when something like that happens today, it’s a hard way to go out. It’s tough, it’s tough.”
  24. Josh Moved up to 44th with 1718 yards total. He and Patrick Mahomes also broke Bart Starr's all-time passer rating for a career (at least for now). Pat is #1 and Josh is now #2 all-time. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/01/24/patrick-mahomes-and-josh-allen-both-broke-bart-starrs-54-year-old-playoff-passer-rating-record/
