  1. Smokescreen. Bills know they have a hole at Corner. Not looking to draw additional attention.
  2. There was note of his father being Dr. Charles Rosen, famous spine surgeon who went to U Penn and his mother who went to Dartmouth and played lacrosse. Josh was UCLA of course and his political commentary was, to some, admirable. I think the negative blowback you mention was something continued to grow with time and coverage. Maybe I'd say his cocky draft night statement was the tipping point for his reputation.
  3. The media also fell in love with Rosen's apparent social pedigree and "intelligence".
  4. I don't draft a guard in the 1st round, but I don't hesitate to get one in both rounds 3 and 5.
  5. Do the Bills stand a better chance of getting three starters by trading up and ending up with (say) only 4 total picks or keeping all their picks and assuming the hit percentage is better with numbers? When you trade up, losing picks is a certainty. Knowing that the picks you move up for are worth it is far from certain. I'm in favor of whatever strategy gets more starters on rookie contracts.
  6. No, it's because the role of a modern defense is to have only a marginal role in the outcome of a game.
  7. Dan Price: When your team loses Russell Wilson and all you have left is shaming others on the disease that is social media.
  8. Ducasse, Bovine, and Mills were not who you would field to help your rookie QB. That Allen improved rather than implode that year was very impressive.
  9. It would much to assume that he'll start game 1, get full snaps, and run 17 games plus playoffs.
  10. If KC hits on the picks and Hill is blah in Miami, this new "pay the WR $$$$" movement stalls and balance is restored.
  11. If he didn't defy convention, who would read the article? Who was he intending for Hall to run behind?
  12. Bundling picks, trading up, and assuming all of your reduced number of picks will make the team seems as much hubris as logical. Other than maneuvering for a QB, I like using all the picks and getting those players into the Bills camp and culling them after you've worked with them through camp. Wouldn't you want to look at players extensively in your own system before eliminating them from consideration?
  13. I liked that they gave him some game reps last year in a heavy package. Valuable experience.
  14. ...so we can still draft a punter.
  15. Shows the importance of rookie contracts.
  16. The Manute Bol of linebackers
  17. ...and out-Robert Crafted Robert Craft by a good multiple?
  18. Bills need 6-7 starting caliber O linemen to prosper over a 17 game season plus playoffs.
  19. As of today, corner. Check back tomorrow.
  20. True. Diggs puts himself out there. Has the body control and awareness to avoid brutal hits. I'm thinking of those games where the defense will give you underneath yards if you're willing to take a hit. Beasley excelled there and would play hurt. Really tough dude at 174 lb. However, my comments are less about putting Beasley on a pedestal than they are about seeing how the Bills will work certain areas of the field with him gone. Flex a back, use your TE, etc. ?
  21. Need to hit on multiple draft picks who start and play on rookie contracts.
  22. Arguably the most willing of any of our receivers to take a beating to make the play. I'm guessing we'll ask the tight ends to pick up the underneath yards.
  23. In 1991, Walt Corey ran the 2-5, the Sic 'em Defense featuring Cornelius Bennett. Play to your strengths I guess.
