  1. I don’t think they missed, I think it shows there’s no point in drafting a RB high when the journeymen they have had there do the same work and the whole offense is still predicated on the QB. You have a team with one of the best in the game at QB, he’s always going to be the focus, when he’s not, Singletary was averaging 5ypc. What are you going to gain? A name and a contract you won’t want to renew in 4 years?
  2. Harris was also a higher rated prospect in most peoples eyes. The Steelers also are a run heavy team. Everyone wants to be the Chiefs, learn from their Edwards-Hillarie mistake, RB isn’t valuable enough to draft high with JA as the QB. The best get 5.0 YPC, Mediocre get 4, the most they get the ball would be 20x a game. 20 yards a game is no reason for a first rd pick, might as well swing for a punter who should gain you 28 yards a game vs the bottom of the league.
  3. The contract terms weren’t met, stepper ends up losing a lot of money on the deal, not sure how anybody sees this as his fault. Rock Hill pulled a bait and switch.
  4. I mean, if the Legends, only Thurman is at a position where you don’t have a current star, so that’s the right answer.
  5. The only way I see the Bills going w Hall is if all the CBs have been taken and all the 1st round WRs are gone and all the LBs are gone, which COULD happen because I don’t know if a single QB will go in the first this year.
  6. The more I think about it, the more on board I am to either go up got Sauce or move up in the second for Edmunds replacement ( trading Edmunds in the process).
  7. Simple math, just in income taxes ALONE, it’s worth it. You have 8 regular season games to collect taxes from all of the players at ~7%, but let’s just look at Josh Allen, one singular player, whom they’ve gotten to take over 8% of his income, let’s simplify, on average, his new deal is worth over 3M per year to NYS in taxes. Pegulas will profit about the same as JA, there’s another 3M+, then the rest of the team, you are looking at 12M+ and all of these numbers are conservative as hell, that’s an easy 18M a year, 30 year investment on increasing returns, but again, simple math, the investment is back to NYS and we haven’t talked about the actual rake they pull from the other teams or the extra cash infusion to the restaurant’s, Hotels, NyS Thruway, gas stations and all of the employees for the team, game day staff etc. It makes sense JUST in football, forget anything else that happens at the stadium as a bonus. The author can’t see past their own nose.
  8. Yeah and how many others just this year haven’t come, now look back at the history of FA signings we have missed out on or had to DRAMATICALLY overpay, so your one example gets blown up. So you’d rather pay an unproven rookie 4x vet min, vs a top 10 corner at Vet Min, because you think an All-Pro couldn’t go to an easier system, but a rookie would have no problem. That’s what one would call, insane.
  9. If they draft his replacement, he’s traded for anything they can get to salary dump.
  10. Honestly, would have liked to had him. I know I’m going to be flamed first it, but I do think the outdoor stadium in Buffalo plays a role in older players choosing to go elsewhere. They will have to play/lose a game in Buffalo in Dec/Jan anyway if they want to go to the SB, so they might as well suck it up, but I get wanting to avoid it.
  11. I was hoping he would come to Buffalo late in the year, bubble wrap him until the playoffs. He’s a top 10 talent, when he plays and actually tries. Too bad we’ve only seen that about 4 games in his career.
  12. Gotta save some space for in year signings. Draft picks will consume some of it, at least until cut downs.
  13. He’s made a decision to get paid more for doing the same job, with a different company. 99% of you would do the same thing. Let’s not forget the average NFL career is less than 4 years and is easily taken away by a freak injury. I would rather he stayed a Bill, he’s a solid player, but I’m not mad at him for choosing to get paid.
  14. If you take a guy in the first round and they perform to expectations, the 5th year option is almost certainly worth it, regardless of position. The problem children are the ones that show flashes and don’t get over the hump per say. You don’t want a guy who is a reasonable starter that flashes occasionally and is non-existent other times. The Bills found themselves in this pickle with Edmunds and I would argue Oliver as well. You may not want to lose them, but guaranteeing them is also more than you want.
  15. I think you could justify it considering the guys that play out of the slot a lot these days. You are going to see Hill twice a year running from there and all over, it’s a good position to be set at.
  16. Josh got to secure his future, the Bills took a risk after one good year, it was calculated well by both. Josh also got an exorbitant amount of guarantees (at the time), so he got what he needed. The beautiful thing for him, he’s going to re-set it all again in a few years. He signed a very smart deal. Agreed, I’d have Watson at tier 2 until he’s back on the field and showing success outside of trash time.
  17. I agree with what you have to say. Regardless of circumstance, Brady has been nothing short of amazing. I still don’t like home, but show the man some respect. I agree completely on Herbert, he’s got the tools and had the flashes than got us all intrigued with JA. He may not be quite as athletic, but we are splitting hairs on it all., they are top 7 picks in the NFL, they are freaks. Herbert is far better than I realized from his college days, he came in with far better coaching than Allen, he may be further along in development and maybe he hits a plateau, but at this point he’s the closest thing to Allen there is. Nothing against him, I just hope he suck’s against the Bills for the next 20 years.
  18. Isn’t it nice to not be debating if Tyrod is a top 15 guy? There’s going to be somebody who likes somebody better than somebody else, no matter what. I don’t think there’s a sane person in the world that wouldn’t agree, when you talk about the best QBs in the league, Allen is in the conversation. When you are talking about a guy to build your team around, Allen might be the favorite. To me, Herbert is a better version of year 2 JA, a lesser version of year 3 JA, but the guy looks to be on the trajectory to be a great. Maholmes has had amazing success, Burrow looks damn good, Aaaaaaaaaron is always an MVP candidate, Brady is the Goat, Wilson has been a great when healthy (last year was not the norm) and Watson was a stat machine, albeit on a team that was getting blown out often, so idk what to make of him. So pick the flavor you like. JA is one of the very best in the business and still has room to grow and the attitude to want to, that’s awesome. To me, you have to look at the “would you trade them straight up for the other guy?” My answer is, I think most GMs would say there is nobody they would trade straight up for Allen or Maholmes, to me, all the others fall under, the “damn right I’d make that deal” category. So in terms of most valuable, it’s those 2, followed closely by Herbert, and Burrow. I’d bet you would find at least 50% of GMs that would swap Herbert or Burrow for Allen or Maholmes. The others are all trade-able. Age plays a part, stupid contract plays a part, injuries play a part, but when you look at it, nobody would consider trading Allen or Maholmes, unless they just preferred the other for some reason and would swap only for the other guy. They are both dynamic playmakers with enough body of success to prove they are great. Herbert has to step up and do it at a truly high level all year, Burrow though really good, not nearly as scary as the others and the others have either been traded or dangled for trade, or are 40+, that’s all you need to know. I’ll say this, there’s nobody I’d trade Allen for. He’s just as good as Maholmes and has done it with less weapons. Side note, way less drama, that’s my guy. I’m sure there are fan boys of the other guys that think their guy is better, but objectively, nah.
  19. You always have to have an eye on the future, if you trust your scouting department, an awful lot of guys drafted well past the first round have been good enough to play LT as a rookie. Money can be moved, but there is a limit to that, so locking a valuable position to a rookie deal is a big thing. Not saying I would, but I wouldn’t be shocked either.
  20. Agree to disagree. A difference make doesn’t have to touch the ball. That’s why DEs and CBs get paid so much. WRs are the over pay dujour, give it time, it will be figured out a guy that touches the ball less than 10 times a game isn’t worth it either, the elites at any position are worth better money, and CBs will be getting big money to shut down these good/not great 20M WRs.
  21. Vs the guys we have now? I’d take a good rookie
  22. I wouldn’t be surprised if they trade up using Edmunds to get him. Edmunds is a mis-fit, would clear 12M in cap. Then you have your guy for the next 5 years at a reasonable price. Makes it easier to move around again next year.
  23. Knox is a rising star, this year will determine how big of a star people think he can be. He may get monster money, maybe just good money. I’d like him back, but money talks. Oliver, good player, not worth a monster deal though. We’ll see what this year says. Edmunds, I hope the dude gets PAID, by the Dolphins. Motor isn’t going to be big money. Poyer will be decided upon after the Edmunds decision is made, if he gets another couple years, Edmunds is gone. I like him, but she and body abuse is a question.. if he and Edmunds end up gone, won’t be shocked.
