One should expect that. The other guy is not starting, especially at QB in todays world, if he were that good, he would be traded for a haul and starting elsewhere. I personally look at MVP as an award where I say, “if that guy wasn’t there and an average starter replaced him, how much difference is there?” To me, that means the award this year is Stroud’s, then Mahomes, then Allen, then Hill as much as I don’t like it. Basically, Lamar got the award because his team’s record was good, but I don’t think he’s the real difference maker there. Plug in Kirk Cousins and the team still wins. That can’t be said with the guys above.

If you wouldn’t trade him for a Breece Hall, your entire view is clouded by your fandom.

This is why you can’t take stats at face value. You don’t have the whole picture. Schemes, average yards per touch etc, people in Pittsburg still think Najee Harris is great bc he’s had 1000 yard seasons… and yet he’s doing it 3.8 yards at a time. I like Cook in a Kamara Role, when the saints still had a true bell cow back. You need a gu who can get tough yards on his own, that’s not Cook. I’m going to get somebody telling me how great his yards after contact are next and again, doesn’t tell the whole story. The guy is good, but just like Gibbs, you need a Montgomery in some situations. If you bring in Henry to add to the fold… now you have a super threat. That would be good ole fashion fun.

I’m for it, would be nice to have a guy who can be a hammer AND a home run threat all at once. I’d feel much better about him getting key touches vs Cook. The amount of times Cook screwed up in key moments is concerning, Henry is the consummate pro, even if he’s on the back end of his career. I doubt we can afford him, but I’d be excited to have him.

They have a stellar all around team, a great D, OL, TE, etc. that’s what a championship team looks like, and doing it with a 2nd year nobody from no where QB. If they had Allen, my Gawd.

For as great as he was, did Julio win a title? The Dolphins had the best WR duo in the league, how’d that play out? The Eagles, Lions, etc are all sitting at home. It’s great to have WRs and the Bills DO need them, but ultimately it’s a team sport, giving up 5 players for one is unlikely to be the right move.

He catches the ball, but at no time has anyone been scared of Diggs. He’s not a game breaker in anyway, NEVER has been. He’s been a PITA to cover in short areas, but nobody was worried about him “taking over” a game. The entire defense has to be aware of where a guy like Hill is at all times because on mistake and it’s going to the house, even if you don’t make a mistake, he may just flat out burn you. Diggs might get a first down, but that’s the end of the threat.

I said it when he was good, he’s never been a guy that scares anyone, he’s a good possession guy, not a big threat.

Knox needs to catch the ball and then it could be lethal. I love the way Knox plays, but he’s unreliable at best in the passing game.

The only stats that count are championships and Allen is N/A in that category.

And another second for Sweat and then made him absurdly over paid. Could have just waited and paid him.

I’d be really surprised if they don’t tag and trade him, they have the room to do it and unlike some dumb teams who let guys walk and hope for compensation picks, they can just work it out to get their picks this year. Think AJ Brown, Eagles gave up a first and paid him, I’d bet someone is willing to give up a second and pay Higgins, the way the Bears waste picks they might even make it a first 😂

Playing Devil’s advocate. Is Daboll wrong to hold the D coordinators to the same standard he holds himself? Maybe it’s just over inflated opinions of under achieving coaches he has issue with. Perhaps the young coaches figured they could ride the coat tails of Josh Allen to better jobs next season and they should take that over the unknown. Maybe all the players watched what’s happened in the last and decided to show public support to the control freak so his ego wouldn’t be hurt and they wouldn’t be put on the bench like he has done to numerous players who didn’t do it the way he liked. They choked again, maybe it’s proof Dune is right. To get there or to lose the game after giving the D the lead?

That team just gave up all their talent and has nothing set at QB, what’s good? A new owner who’s proven to be ruthless in pursuit of winning? Yeah, not where I’m starting my HC career if I have a choice.
