Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut
DCofNC replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So if you cut him, you get hit with 1.6M dead cap, his overall cap hit to keep him is 9.5M, his base salary is 7.05M, so if he gets cut, he essentially loses all guarantees of money this year and the Bills take a $1.6M cap hit for not keeping him. This is option one. The Bills would then have to replace him, which I think it’s pretty obvious they would not be able to do with a quality veteran for less than 4-5 million a year, probably more. My purposed idea is to convert his salary this year into signing bonus, and kill his other bonuses for the year, he gets paid 7.05M and doesn’t have to worry, winner. Add a year of non guaranteed money to the deal, now the Bills have a cap hit this year of 1.6M for his original signing bonus and 3.6M for this bonus. You keep your number 2 WR for a 5.2M cap hit. Winning. Now next year if you want to move on, designate him a post June 1 cut, the 3.6M in cap you moved to next year can be deferred over 2 seasons, so he’s only a dead cap hit of 1.8M for 2 years. If you keep him then you can play with it from there. I would much rather have a true #2 WR, who is already trusted and knows the system for $5.2M than have to rely on Davis or somebody like Stills who will cost about the same anyway. -
Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut

Why not approach him with a renegotiation? Just add a year to his deal, convert his salary to signing bonus, with base at vet min, guaranteed for this year. Low base plus roster bonus for next season, no guarantees (If he’s smart he gets a no offset guarantee thrown in to next year) He gets paid, you keep the weapon and punt the cap hit out a season, which you could then defer again as a post June 1 cut next year, so your cap hit becomes ~7M this year, moves to 4.5 next year, if you keep him the roster bonus kicks it up, or you post June 1 cut and it’s 2.25 against the cap for 2 years.. Hopefully, Beane is as intelligent as an average guy posting on a message board. I see no need to lose a talented guy in the middle of a SB window that’s going to get awful tight when Josh resigns. -
Drew Brees renegotiates, now making the league minimum.

This ***** should be against the rules, but it’s not, so good for them. -
I bet Diggs will ask for a new contract
DCofNC replied to DCofNC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow that’s news to me. Only been a Bills fan for 35 years, but ok. -
He clearly out played his deal this year, I bet he threatens a hold out if he doesn’t get paid to match production. All this FA talk and we are about to enter the situation with 50-60M a year in the QB and 1 WR, lots of people are going to be gone.

Micah Hyde - surprise cap casualty?
DCofNC replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No problem, let Edmunds go backle elsewhere and Milano can make 2x what he’s worth somewhere else too. Neither is anything special, Milano just looks good bc he’s the only one with a clue. Hyde can play out his deal. -
Daboll apologized to Beasley, Diggs after loss
DCofNC replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daboll sucked the entire post season, I don’t care what anybody says the interviews for other jobs changed his focus. He became the loser he was last year, right when it mattered. -
Theory on why Allen struggles against KC
DCofNC replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In surprise move of the year, Bills fire OC Daboll for ***** performance in the playoffs.. ahh doubtful I guess. -
Literally needs a complete gut and rebuild. Smoke and mirrors got them through, but there’s not a single starter on the DL, and only Milano, Poyer and White are anywhere near “better than replacement” players. Complete trash honestly and has been all year. They need at least 6 new starters, really sad, especially with all the draft capital wasted on the D.

Chiefs I would attack if I were Frazier or Daboll
DCofNC replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will be interesting to see if he can move well enough to try it IMO. Well, in all honesty, the Bills are trotting out much the same to block for Allen. We have the Chiefs old Center (bad move) and Dawkins who was supposed to be a guard 😆. Outside of that you have Journeymen. -
Kenny Stills, Dane Jackson elevated from PS

I’m with you. I still consider him the 2nd best corner on the team, the coaches must see something I don’t. -
Deshaun Watson prefers the Jets
DCofNC replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The honest truth is Miami is the only team that could put him in a situation to win, that could offer reasonable compensation. They were competitive already, they could ship back 2 first round picks, Tua and some future compensation and still have enough ammo to surround him with some talent. The Jets are a virtually barren team and once they get him will have no picks to fill in ALL those holes, plus a limited cap situation due to his contract, he’s walking into a worse situation from a talent perspective, than he’s in. The only other options would be for him to go to a ready made contender like the 49ers who would have to send back top tier players (D line), Jimmy G and give up a lot of draft capital in the future to get him, but at least he would have a shot to win. Texans at least have a good option to turn to in this scenario. Maybe if Brady retires (fat chance), he could go to the Bucs for players and picks, but their picks aren’t high enough to work with for Houston IMO. Wild card, option(s), the Cowboys. Get a deal for Dak (tag and trade) and Cooper plus this year’s first and second and next year’s first. Trouble would be getting Dak to sign the tag, but maybe, just maybe, he feels “disrespected” enough to go play across the state and try to prove something. I guess you could look at the same idea with Cleveland for Baker and OBJ, plus picks. These scenarios seem unlikely, but might actually be best options for the Texans and Watson. Very few teams have the fire power to make it worth it. If I were the Rams to try to make a package with Goff, Arizona with Murray, Etc, where you could offer a reasonable, proven, alternative at QB for the Texans and more, vs nothing but draft picks. Virtually every team in the league minus the ones left playing right now should have serious considerations to try to make the deal to land Watson. Of course, the smart thing for Houston to hold on for dear life. -
Justin Zimmer...unsung defensive hero?
DCofNC replied to umangatan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s not a great player, but he gives a ton of effort and has a knack for making plays in recovery mode, he’s not a guy you really want to rely on, but he’s definitely been a nice surprise and made some big plays. -
Both teams are good in their own right. When it comes down to it. I think GB is “easier” to match up with, they have 1 real good receiving threat and a bunch of guys in the NFL because of Rodgers. Brady has a lot of weapons we can’t match up with. Have to play zone all day and he’s a master against it, plus he’s familiar with what he’s seeing with our guys, not the team you want to deal with. First things first, you have to beat the best team in the league, in their house, let’s worry about that one. Allen has to ball out tomorrow and again in the SB if we have any chance of winning. I love the kid, but this is a HUGE stage, hopefully he gets going early and settles right in, we have seen what he can do when he does, just hope he can do it tomorrow. I think he’s going to have to put up 350+ passing, 60+ running and 5tds to have a chance.

I have not seen anything to indicate he can be an NFL QB, but it’s low risk and high reward for the Steelers. I doubt he makes the roster honestly.

Josh Allen named Most Improved Player of the Year by PFWA
DCofNC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If anybody has Lamar in front of Allen, they need their head checked. Not saying you are wrong in terms of where he falls on the list but Jackson should be the 5th Qb at best. It’s Rodgers/Maholmes (you pick), then Allen/Wilson, then you may argue for Jackson. -
The fact this is even a conversation is a win. For me, Allen just has to prove he can shake the early game jitters here in the playoffs and continue to make good choices, the rest will take care of itself. Josh IS more physically gifted than PM, but what you do with it is what matters and PM is the best in the business right now, until proven otherwise. Injuries are the biggest concern for him if you are being honest, Rs about the only thing that has slowed him down.

I’d be sending Poyer on the blitz from play 2 forward (they will run play one). Poyer is the guy who will get there and he will lay him out. If he gets up and plays well, good. If that’s the end of him for the game, sorry, but it increases our odds of winning. You know they are coming for any weakness, gotta go for theirs.
