  1. Wow, that all sounds vaguely familiar. Luckily, during the drought I developed the "short memory" thing as a coping mechanism
  2. Poyer needs more love here Bass-O-Matic's "Oh, I'll just chip in this 57-yarder" kept my blood pressure under control for a while Allen is just everything and everywhere Beasley gets hammered but keeps coming
  3. McD - Chiefs needed this game more.... we wanted this game more
  4. Thanks for this write-up, I look forward to them now - as soon as I saw the interception, I started wondering what this week's report would look like...
  5. Agreed, and just like that, Virgil returns to MVP form this year also!
  6. Thanks for the reminder on this - I finally broke down and got it
  7. Oh yeah, I forgot about that beat-down, would love to see redemption there!
  8. Thurman lived in the apartment above my grandmother his rookie season - behind the Tops market near Maple and Transit. We asked him why he didn't take a fancier place - said he was just a rookie, felt good coming off the injury but you never know. My grandmother was a Bills fanatic and introduced her 12 grandchildren to him one by one across his first season. He made time for us, was always positive and gracious. I certainly do not know him well but could see that he was raised to have good manners and did not lose that as he started to gain fame.
  9. Yes good question on OJ, the overall lack of OJ on this site is interesting, seems like we'll talk about anything BUT OJ.
  10. Seemed to take sports and journalism seriously but knew it was about having some fun. I worked as the delivery flunky at the pharmacy where he and the Carballata's went in the late 70's /early 80's - seemed like a good guy.
  11. Nov 30 1969 at War Memorial vs. Cincinnati, my dad got tickets from a friend who didn't want to go in the snow They couldn't get the tarps up so the field was marked with orange dye and there was a lot of snow Whole game was in slow motion and there were 10 turnovers. Booked Edgerson returned a fumble for the win and I was hooked for life
  12. Thanks for bringing us along to the stadium with you
  13. Just watched the replay and saw Taron Johnson with 2 blocks, the second one after he was knocked down, got up and ran downfield
  14. Charles Romes - tenacious, bit of an iron man, 12th round draft pick who made receivers miserable every week
  15. I'll be writing a thank you letter to the Pegulas that the Bills still play on most Sundays in the fall.....
  16. Main take-away: Get parents to name you Sean to make the top 10.....
  17. Grant Guthrie - Bills kicker in 1970 - came to my school, PS #80 to sell insurance to teachers I think. Also, Thurman lived in the apartment above my grandmother during his rookie season. She was a huge Bills fan and he was so gracious, so kind to her.
