He’ll, if Shakir gets targets all this upcoming season at a similar or a bit higher rate as he did the second half of last season he is likely to put up a thousand yards on the season, iirc he had six hundred sixty yards last season and basically wasn’t targeted for the first six or seven games,

Exactly this, which receiver is going to be doubled? the defense especially during the beginning of the season will have no clue as to who is being favored as the receiver on a given play, the advantage is with the offense, if Brady can scheme effectively and Josh spreads the ball around we will maintain that advantage, imo it’s going to be a very exciting season, 👍

Lots to consider for sure, but the end results are what they are, like I said Diggs was generally great during the regular season. Hopefully Brady can scheme up some good stuff, and keep defenses guessing, 🤞

I would add that Diggs while continuing to insist on targets was under performing in the playoffs annually, (9 playoff games with 2 tds), and had noticeably underperformed the last half of his last season in Buffalo, Diggs was generally great during the regular season, not so much in the playoffs,

IMO, Josh will struggle with taking the easy short / check down pass to move the chains and keep the opposing defense “on the field”, and by doing so will keep the “opposing offense off field as well”. Josh will have next to zero problems getting used to his new receivers, because he has no choice, so he will make the adult decision and throw the new guys the damn ball…, really what’s he going to do? Not throw them the ball…,

Well it’s the NFL, it’s supposed to have a certain level of difficulty, but I suspect that after the first six or eight snaps and the defense is still on the field that “extra body” will be shadowing the guy who is catching passes or is getting first downs /YAC, I also suspect it will be more than one position player WR, TE or RB etc, so who’s going to get the extra attention? The defenses will be having to make assumptions…, and we all know what happens when one assumes…, Josh throws a TD pass to Coleman, stranger things happen on any Sunday, 😁👍

I can except your thought process, I think though that that any defense will only double the guy on a passing play that they believe is the biggest threat, that will alleviate some of the coverage issues for the other receivers, just a thought…,

For only one reason, I voted for Mahomes, that reason is that Mahomes will choose a short / check down pass to move the chains more effectively than our guy Josh, out side of that Allen is his equal to better, now I could be dead wrong with this assessment, but at this moment I think that I am correct, 😁👍🍸🚬

Be that as it may, he didn’t get separation as frequently as a #1 is expected to, Diggs didn’t walk the walk as well as he talked the talk , his career postseason numbers are not good,

Ya gotta remember, Diggs was not being double covered as much as many here seem to think, Diggs was not getting separation a good deal of the time during the second half of last season, on top of, frankly, never being a game changer in the playoffs (nine playoff games, two touchdowns)

We could call him the “Maybe Man” which coincides well with “HDJ”

Don’t confuse him with reality…
