Bowden comes into play in the third IMO This is why I’m higher on Bowden for Daboll’s offense. You get a similar skill set as Shenault - less size/physicality, but more speed and athleticism - while maintaining all of the gadgetry bonuses. Plus, on top of the ability to run the ball - 2nd nationally in YPC - Bowden has a lot of QB experience for those WR option passes Daboll loves to use.

What a long way we have come

Yup. If J Allen takes another big step forward this team will be in amazing shape -
Allen’s youth likely plays a part as well. A QB like Wilson, Brady or Rodgers can direct traffic and explain things like a coach on the field which helps young WRs. Allen isn’t quite experienced enough for that. Adding Diggs makes that a non-issue. They can now draft a developmental WR later and groom them to replace Beasley and/ Brown when their contracts are up. Also let’s a rookie get comfortable before (I hope not) an injury situation forces action.

I think Bryce Hall is a bit of a sleeper as well. He’s a bit limited as far as fluidity and he didn’t run at the combine, and folks forgot about him after the injury. However, he’s a big smart and instinctive corner with leadership qualities and solid tackling. Would fit for zone schemes and as a corner/safety hybrid. I see him coming into play mid 2nd round.

All comes down to whether or not they hit on a QB. -
I assume that they went harder on defense to replace Phillips, Lorax, Johnson and Lawson. McB probably believe that the draft is better suited for upgrading offensive positions this year. Plus, a lot of these defensive players have experience in McDs scheme.... They’ll be seamless fits in an abbreviated off-season.

Duke, Foster and Roberts could all be in for a camp battle. Really depends on the skill set of any other acquisitions. If they get Mims/Claypool then Duke could be gone. If they get a Reagor/Bowden then Roberts could lose his job. Gonna be fun to see how this shakes out. Regardless, we now have an excellent starting three.

E. Ogbah to the Phins 2yrs $15M

They’re also setting themselves up to make a move for Tua if needed.... filling roster holes in FA in a similar way to Beane. -
Bills sign LB AJ Klein 3yrs $18M

Fills a hole on a decent contract. I don’t see anything to complain about. That’s Beane’s MO.... fill the holes in FA with value signings then maneuver in the draft to try to nab cost controlled studs. -
Fire Beane! We are doomed!!!!

The power of team continuity

Continuity could be a huge advantage if the off-season is abbreviated due to this virus or a CBA related work stoppage. -
Huge Bills contingent at Clemson pro day

This basically sums up my sentiments on the matter. I think that as a whole we should be focusing on the wideouts with QB experience, advanced route running, exceptional separation skills, and/ experience in Daboll’s system. -
There have been plenty of players that have come out and said that the only thing that matters in NFL contracts is the guaranteed money. Taking advantage of additional guaranteed money is likely more important to established vets who aren’t “premium” players at premium positions. Particularly if that player is over 30 when making an extra $1MM two to three years from now is less likely. Bird in hand.... “For 2020, Lotulelei’s base salary drops by $1.75M, but becomes fully guaranteed, with $2.5M in injury guarantees for 2021 added.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2020/02/buffalo-bills-restructure-star-lotulelei-contract-what-it-means-for-both-sides.html%3foutputType=amp

They often do when they’re 30 or older, play an unheralded position, get another chunk of guaranteed money, like where they’re at, and value job security. Plus this offseason there are a bunch of good NTs (Hargrave, Reader, Pierce, etc) on the market which is rare. Star’s restructure was a win for both sides as it not only cuts his cap figure, but guarantees salary and insures he doesn’t have to compete with a saturated market. I’ll concede that Star is not a top 5 NT, so his initial FA contract was an overpay. However, I view that contract like buying a part for a SAAB.... You’ll have to over pay for a critical OEM part because the only alternative is something unreliable from the “pick and pull”.
