  1. Snacks is the last guy I’d be looking at in FA. DT might be the most talented and the deepest position group in FA this year. It’s one of the few spots where there’s a bevy of value signings for talented rotational guys. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/defensive-tackle/
  2. That and optimism. People tend to believe “that won’t happen to me” until it happens to them. This is particularly true for younger guys. My attitude changed early, but that resulted from three months in ICU after a car wreck. Without that wreck I’d have probably been an idiot till my 35th birthday.
  3. I think this has been a sore subject since the early 90’s when GB pissed off the owners by guaranteeing that Sterling Sharpe the highest WR salary. It was a precedent the league didn’t want to set. Still, I’m surprised that no one has bargained down for a 100% guaranteed contract. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.deseret.com/platform/amp/1994/9/16/19131074/sharpe-catches-top-pay-as-receiver
  4. I still think it’ll be to jump ATL for Epenesa if we move up.
  5. There are a few others that could potentially start day 1, but they don’t check all the boxes. Van Jefferson and J Jefferson for example could be plug and play. Flipside is high floor, lower ceiling. Reagor can probably start, but he’s similar to John Brown. Shenault and Bowden would instantly take McKenzies spot, but they’re likely not day 1 outside receivers. 22 might be a rough spot to be for WR. Of course, Beane could always go another rout if talent drops. Hopefully some of these WRs separate themselves during the combine.
  6. Better than DiMarco
  7. It’s a bit harsh, but might fit for his first year or two in the league. It’ll probably shock casual fans if he gets drafted in the 2nd, but it’s certainly possible. I think most forgot about his WR tape after he lead the SEC in YPC the last 7 games of 2019’. He’s generally fearless in traffic and could rack up YAC. I can see him having extra value for us and the Pats due to his QB background due to system complexity. For anyone that hasn’t watched Lynn Bowden... 2018 is all WR... 2019 is WR and QB
  8. Anyone saying that Spiller wouldn’t be a 1st round pick does not remember how good he was in college or any of the hype. It’s that or knowing how he turned out as a pro is tainting perspective. He was a dominant RB good contact balance that could catch and outrun defenders even when they had a good angle.
  9. Minus the weed and poor dietary choices. I love Singletary. He’s just not a standard prototype. As such any guy who fits a prototype is a change of pace. Lol
  10. I see him as a vastly different player. Granted, I watched every Kentucky game in 2018. To use another wildcat: Randall Cobb with added versatility. If he runs a 4.3 at the combine I wouldn’t be surprised to see him drafted by an AFCN team or another playoff team just as an add on bonus of scout team on Ravens week. ?
  11. I agree. However, if their plan is to hammer other teams I can see a power back making sense. Particularly if they grab one that can catch like Zack Moss. I’m just not sure which direction the McB and Daboll want to go with the position. A guy like Perine can be lined up in the slot too. Maybe they grab Shenault or Bowden and use them in the backfield. ?‍♂️
  12. Singletary is unique. He’s a one stepper without a top gear. Just untraditional talent that can ball. I think he can be supplemented with a speed back or a power back. It’s really going to come down to what the bills think they want/need from the position.
  13. I certainly do. In order... Reagor, Shenault, Aiyuk, Higgins. I only have Shenault ahead of Aiyuk due to potential, but it’s extremely close. I think Higgins is slightly limited. I also have Lynn Bowden ahead of half of the OPs 2nd tier list. He was forgotten about after switching to QB (30/348 in 4.5 games), but the previous season he put up 67/745 in the SEC. Granted he ran for 1,200 yards in 7 games after the switch.... Bowden, Aiyuk, and Reagor are, to me, the guys most likely to be electric.
  14. I don’t think we need a pure power back. However, a bigger back that runs decisively and can catch would be ideal.
  15. Went with Allen over Edmunds because the ceiling for QBs is higher than every other positions. Chose Ford for the 2019 rookies. I think a year in a NFL strength program coupled with a fixed position and focused reps will make a big difference regardless of him staying at RT or moving to guard. With better upper body strength and technique he can take a big step, especially against speed rushers and inside counters.
  16. The never been to the playoffs caveat makes this more difficult as it eliminates Pat Williams, Moulds, Rueben Brown, etc. I’d have to go with Jason Peters. That one addition turns the Oline into a top 10 unit.
  17. It’s interesting to me because one quoted part in the article: Most of his production came from slot or as outside receiver in space. Must prove he can win as route runner against quality cornerbacks. Play strength is below par. Gets muscled around by physical defenders. Very aware of oncoming traffic and will stop routes to avoid big hits Is the same knock that Jalen Reagor has... Then you go back and look at his tape with a solid QB and he looks very different. Particularly against Ohio State. Sometimes these guys get knocked and drop. sometimes they don’t.
  18. He will throw tantrums when he’s not getting the ball and his team is losing. There’s no way around that. As for being selfish... from what I’ve been told by Vikings fans I know, Diggs also tends to spend his off days doing charity work everything from coat drives to visiting children’s hospitals and handing out turkeys on thanksgiving. I guess Diggs and Kyle Rudolph are the “charity guys” in that locker room. I certainly cannot comment on his work ethic or locker room fit. His antics definitely lean more towards TO than AB. It’ll be Beane, McD, and Daboll doing homework and making a decision.
  19. I’d do a 1st for Diggs if he’s willing to play under his current contract. Extension, restructuring, etc. a 2nd.
  20. I see Willekes as a replacement for Alexander/Murphy. High floor low ceiling though. I’d be happy if they nabbed him in the 3rd. For the OPs exercise I’ll throw a few options for different positions.... DE: Epenesa (1st), Anae(2nd) CB: CJ Henderson (1st), Bryce Hall (2-3) RB: Zack Moss (3rd), Vaughn (4th), Perine (4-5) WR: Ruggs (1st), Reagor (1-2), Lynn Bowden (2-?), V Jefferson (3-4) LB: not seeing it till late TE: Kmet (2nd) OL: no clue this year. If Beane sees value it’ll be from left field or what most consider a drop.
  21. Agree. J Brown commented on it though, so it can’t be ruled out. The Pats have used guys with QB experience for years.... There’s enough smoke to look for fire. That said, it just means that it might take longer for some of the raw guys to show well in this offense. As much as it’s a potential issue there are a lot of guys in the draft who fit the Bill: Jeudy, Ruggs, Reagor, V Jefferson, etc. I expect them to take two unless they grab an AJ Green.
  22. I can’t rule out the possibility that they didn’t see Metcalf as a fit for Daboll’s offense due to complexity, or they were afraid of the neck injury. It’s also possible that McB decided a WR was useless unless Allen had time to throw. As to the former, I’m starting to look into WRs that may have an edge conceptually with regards to Daboll’s scheme. That’ll include Alabama WRs that have played under him and WRs with QB experience (Lynn Bowden) or advanced insight into NFL life (V Jefferson, Reagor, etc)
  23. I would love to see Bills fans after our punter gets a 15 yard taunting penalty in a close game. ?. Particularly if we lose. If folks thought penile lawn art was over the line just wait
  24. One guy who I can’t get out of my head as a match for Daboll’s system is Lynn Bowden Jr (KY). 6’1 200 lb. HS QB who converted to WR, lit it up, then went back to QB this season after injuries to the starter and backup... He proceeded to light up the SEC on the ground like L Jackson (8+ YPC) after racking up 30 receptions in the first half of the season. I have no clue where he’s going to end up getting drafted due to the positional switch, but the kid just balls out.... Plus he screams process. Switched positions for the team, cut his dreads off because he was nominated to represent KY at SEC media day, etc. Uniformed claim issue list (to and from providers).pdf
  25. I like Mims. I’m not sure he’s a 2nd rounder though. I think he’ll go in the 3rd barring a dominant combine. Kind of reminds me of Davante Adams with concentration lapses and poor routes.
