I think the big fish is Chris Jones.
Buffalo Junction replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IIRC... They met with him at the senior bowl. -
Isn’t reliable or consistent seeing cut backs, lacks top end speed, no proof of catching ability, narrow stance at contact, will bounce runs outside when there’s an available lane inside, doesn’t have the speed to bounce runs consistently in the NFL, lacks burst, poor jump cuts, can be impatient..... There are a fair amount of knocks. Kid is a hammer with some wiggle though. Plus he’ll be a nightmare if you can get him into the secondary. I think he has more value to teams with solid run blocking lines than teams that are pass oriented.
-
My big question is this... Can he catch? I watched BC twice this year and can’t recall Dillon catching a pass. Gore being used solely for runs between the tackles was likely a big tell for defenses. This team has to move on from that. It’s one reason why I see Perine and Moss as more likely to be targeted.

I think the NFL is in a transition phase at QB. Even with Brady, Brees, etc nearing the end there is more talent at the position than there has been for a while. I’m not saying that there’s necessarily more talent at the top, but talent is coming in and coaches are figuring out how to use it. It looks like there’s going to be a bunch of middling QBs - system guys, bridge QBs, etc - that might create a middle class of FAs over the next five years.... Tannehill, Bridgewater, Foles, Winston, etc. This could potentially lead to a more diverse and competitive league.
-
Might be a low cost value option. No clue if there’s any validity to him being a cut candidate, but if he is a 6th or 7th rounder would definitely nab him. https://clutchpoints.com/packers-news-green-bay-could-consider-cutting-cb-josh-jackson-this-offseason/

It makes sense for him to extend now if the money and years are right. Tre is 25 now and the Bills could technically drag this out so that he wouldn’t get his first big guaranteed contract until he’s 28. That would limit his career earnings as he’d only get one big chunk of cash. By keeping the term to 5 years he could get cash in hand now, injury insurance, and be a FA again at 30 or another extension earlier. That could lead to two large contracts with guaranteed money if he stays healthy and productive. Make no mistake though, if this gets done we’re looking at a market setting contract in one way or another.

Maybe. He was good up until this season. I was just being a bit hyperbolic about the Rams having very few tradable assets. -
Yes. He’s one of the Florida guys I’m high on along with V Jefferson and Perine.... Greenard is one of the few college edge players with a reliable spin move. Needs to do a better job of engaging OTs when he gets to the NFL to set up his counters as he can take himself out of plays. Certainly pops on tape. The big knocks are injuries and that he’s a redshirt senior.

I don’t think so. OL was a big need and getting a plug and play olineman is considered a good thing by most. If he gets moved to guard and becomes a pro bowl level talent it’s even better. WR is an unaffordable luxury with a young QB and the worst Oline in the league; ref. OBJ in Cleveland. It’s not like Ford was a total whiff like Kujo.

TSW Mock Draft 1.0 - Complete
Buffalo Junction replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The GB Packers need a lot of things on offense. RB? WR? PR? Backup QB?????? We’re going for all on them in one prospect The GB Packers select Lynn Bowden Jr (WR, RB, QB, PR) Kentucky We’re not quite sure if he’s Antwan Randle El, Randall Cobb 2.0, or a poor mans Deebo Samuel. What we do know is that we need a playmaking X factor receiver that can return kicks and think like a QB. @CNYfan (Rams) is on the clock -
Beane might be willing to throw out a huge contract for a playmaker. He did put his toe in the water for Mack and AB, so it can’t be completely ruled out. I doubt Shaq and Phillips get signed for megabucks so one or both might be back if they’re not big on the market and willing to sign a reasonable contract with escalators. The rumors will start coming in around the combine, so we’ll start to get more insight then.

Bleacher Report predicts Funchess to Bills

I don’t see it. He’s a slot guy and already knows McCarthy’s system. Unless they do some maneuvering to keep B Jones along with DAK & Amari I think Cobb will stay in Dallas. -

IDK. Rumor has it that Jerrah has the last Marlboro man chained to a wall in his basement. -

Admittedly, I haven’t gone back and watched DPJ after the college season ended. It’s on my to do list. From what I recall he was kind of streaky in games. Might just be the 2-3 Michigan games I saw though. He certainly fits the bill as a smart WR, so he might be on their radar. It’s really hard to tell before combine and FA. My top 3 WRs are Ruggs, Lamb, and Jeurdy. We will probably have to trade up for any of them. I don’t think Beane will sell the farm for anyone, and it’s likely that he will double dip at WR. I can see him trading up to 15-16 for any of the top 3 WR and AJ Epenesa. I’d love Ruggs here because he has deadly speed -among other things- and would start day one. If we stay put at 22 I like Reagor, Shenault, Aiyuk (in that order) at WR. However, Shenault is probably the best schematic fit as he has the size to develop into a true X. Reagor and Aiyuk project to the z and slot roles due to size and play strength, which would mean that they’d eventually replace Brown or Beasley while taking McKenzie and/ Fosters’ jobs right away. Thing with Reagor (also Ruggs) is that when he beats press he can outrun the safety help on deep routes. This lead to a lot of off coverage in college. IMO Shenault has the longest development time of the three, but Daboll can find ways to get him touches. Aiyuk is fast, but he doesn’t seem to be top 10 in the league fast. All three can be YAC monsters. With any of the tier two WRs we will need to hedge our bets in FA or later in the draft and get an immediate starter or a bigger X WR. This is where guys like Van Jefferson, Pittman, Claypool, etc come into play.
