  1. It’s a prime time game in GB. Chiefs ain’t gonna get the benefit of the doubt considering the Packers have a massive fan base. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the calls shift in the second half though. Gary is a wrecking ball. When he’s on he frees up the rest of the front seven.
  2. Oh, I seriously doubt it happens, especially after they lost to the Texans today.
  3. If that happens you almost have to hope Denver somehow wins the division so we have a head to head tiebreaker.
  4. Tackles usually get penalized more often than interior players. They’re more visible and DEs are generally the most physically gifted D linemen. Agree with the 12 men statement, and that likely came into play when McD decided to ice the kicker in Philly.
  5. True, but it doesn’t account for the Packers also fleecing the Jets for an aging QB that would ultimately get injured. 😆 Seriously though. It’s impressive how that team has managed to reload and rebuild their rosters around the timelines of young QBs three times in a row. When Favre came in they got him a starting center, then drafted Robert Brooks and Chmura among others. Rodgers got Jordy Nelson, Finley, and Sitton.
  6. This ^^^. Only way I see McD fired is if Allen and/ a groups of players approaches him and says he’s lost the faith of the team.
  7. It’s slutty and dirty feeling, but honestly…. This current offense stems from the patriots offense. It could actually work with the condition that Beane retains GM roll, and Brady maintains offensive autonomy, and takes over after Belichick beats Shula’s win total. It’d feel weird AF to if they won a Super Bowl with that setup too…. Like giving in to the dark side or trading everything at the crossroads. 😂 It’s slutty and dirty feeling, but honestly…. 8. The problem is we only have one of those guys with the physical/technical talent active on defense right now (Douglass), and McD’s end of game schemes take him out of the play. No pre ACL all-pro Tre making a timely 4th quarter pick, no Milano to force a turnover or make a TFL, no DQ to collapse a double team for interior pressure, and Poyer, Hyde, and Von ain’t what they used to be physically. This team really doesn’t have enough defensive closers to ice a 2 minute drive, especially when McD wants to go prevent or cover 0. ….. then there’s the unreliable special teams with inconsistent coverage and missed kicks….. part of that likely stems from the injuries and guys getting called up into duty, but that’s no excuse for Bass, Martin, etc. Things like the 12 men issues are a coaching problem, and it’s on McD to fix that. IMO his focus on the duel HC/DC roll has significantly influence the precision and execution of both the offense and particularly special teams.
  9. If they miss the playoffs I’d rather them get a better draft pick and make a HC change. This team needs a playmaker and an injection of optimism. I’d imagine all the top coaching prospects would love to luck into a job with Allen at QB.
  10. That’s why it should be legal to nudge Philly fans into traffic. 😜
  11. It’ll be an interesting wrinkle moving forward if Brady sticks Shakir in the slot and Kincaid outside in 12 personnel once Knox is back. Certainly some cool possibilities with matchups and motion with that type of setup.
  12. IDK if Kincaid as first read is best, but I’d lobby for scheming Diggs some 1v1’s and motion while giving Kincaid the Beasley option routes. Then when giving Diggs the option routes sending Kincaid down the seam to stress safeties and LBers. Anything has to be better than running two separate concepts on each side of the field that rely on Allen and 1-2 pass catchers to read the defense at the same time. I’ll give Dorsey credit for the fact that when it’s clicking it’s unstoppable…. But that “when it’s clicking” aspect is like Sex Panther; 60% of the time, it works every time. The hot read being an option route on the backside isn’t always reliable with a rookie. DK is coming into form, but he’s not at an elite level of processing quite yet.
  13. It really isn’t. The whole receiving corps and the TEs are all first and second year players, Love is in his first year starting, and the Oline has dealt with injuries. He’s proven that with a top QB he can win 13 games a year. LaFleur is safe for another year. Joe Barry though is probably toast. That defense has massively underperformed for the talent level. Only way LaFleur gets the axe is if he won’t get rid of Barry. They’ll likely make some changes to assistant coaches, but not to HC unless there’s a huge division in the locker room.
  14. Good point. I’d also say this is where 12 personnel and tempo can be beneficial, particularly with Kincaid’s ability to flex out wide. That 3rd down run could be under center with both TEs inline, and then no huddle a shotgun spread formation after the play without a substitution. The reverse would hold as well.
  15. I’d like to see Dorsey incorporate those spread formations and RPOs with 12 personnel once Knox gets back. The threat of a TE and Diggs stacked for a screen or 2 TEs on one side blocking downfield for a swing pass to a RB could be a nice wrinkle that causes some hesitation and leads to a big gain.
  16. Dorsey made it for 6-7 years as a player as well…. Reich is a proven coach, but Fitz definitely hasn’t shown any interest there.
  17. Another aspect is that RD played under Holcomb in Carolina, so he likely knows that scheme and terminology already since the DC job went from McD to Eric Washington to Holcomb. The guy is familiar with everything and should get up to speed quickly having previous experience with this defense.
  18. I don’t think they’re all in on winning. They’re more likely thinking it’s a good idea to keep weapons around Levis to get an honest assessment of his play instead of ruining his confidence after a fire sale.
  19. I just hope it’s a draining, physical game that goes into overtime. If I had my druthers they’d both beat each other up and wind up with a tie.
  20. He’s probably going to have to win a Super Bowl before he wins an MVP…. Pre-draft narrative, Buffalo narrative, inconsistency narrative, etc. It’s a fair amount to overcome. They’ve painted him down, and unfortunately for his MVP chances a bunch of those “journalists” clinging on to those aforementioned narratives have votes.
