Not confusing at all. Teams generally make an exception if a player has an all pro season in their past.

For sure. Vontae tried to go and after two quarters knew he didn’t have what he needed physically/mentally/emotionally to play the game…. He put in the effort and found out he didn’t have enough. It was strange, but understandable.
Honestly, I’m not sure that many teams have enough solid linemen to effectively utilize these heavy personnel packages. To top that off, Allen’s running ability means he must be accounted for which makes it easier to pass out of that personnel grouping.
In a league that has switched to more light boxes and smaller LBers…. There’s certainly something to getting ahead of the trends. Same goes for this Bills offense being run focused with big WRs and 12 personnel that can beat on secondaries in the ground game and break Cook/Davis/Johnson for run gains - plus Shakir and the RBs for YAC.
After losing in Cleveland he’s likely used to rust belt weather and apathy in the locker room. The way the community bonds around this team is extremely additive for a lot of these guys. As a pro it’s a positive experience you can really only get in Buffalo and Green Bay. Add in JA17, and Buffalo is a unique experience that a quieter guy like Cooper probably really enjoys and appreciates.
