  1. Lawrence is far from a sure thing. If I'm Jax I put the first pick up for bid and see if they can fleece someone.
  2. Luck looked better at Stanford with less talent around him. Fields is making all the throws and reading the defense perfectly so far.
  3. ESPN is reporting he could be back for wild card game if it is on Sunday but not Saturday. Playoff scenario also says they can still get a first round bye
  4. During that same time White and Wallace came back from injury, Klein was named Defensive Player of the week and played at least three really good games, they benched Murphy, the DT play improved, and Milano has been playing steadily more snaps. I don't doubt a healthy Edmunds has been part of the improvement but he is hardly the sole reason and more likely a very minor reason.
  5. We have eyes and brains too. We may not know the calls but we can watch the plays and analyze replays/film. The same coach that loves Edmunds at MLB started Nathan Peterman more than once.
  6. Adams and Diggs should be first team all pro Hopkins and Metcalf second team
  7. The OP didn't specify what year so he/she has an out...lol
  8. Exaclty and if they pay Edmunds top 3 MLB money to line up the defense and drop into zone and make virtually no jmpact plays all year then they are crazy Hopefully I am wrong and he fulfills his potential next year. Having a great MLB that is only 23 for another 4 or 5 years beyond 2021 would set them up for consistent success.
  9. Funny the Bills are about to win 13 games doing almost the exact opposite of what you are suggesting. They have a QB, MLB, top two CBs( yes White was extended but still on rookie deal this year) and a couple DTs on rookie deals. They do have a lot of money invested in the WR spot. The highest paid linemen is the center.
  10. If that is all you ask of a MLB then you don't need to pay him 10 or 15 million a year.
  11. I think Cam is shot too. But for the record, Cam had almost 2000 more passing yards in his first three years than Josh does. He was a great QB and always was a better pocket passer than people gave him credit. Far better than most QBs with his athletic ability. A league MVP. And the refs and his coaches let him get killed. I didn't see him being as good as he was coming out of Auburn. I didn't understand those that wanted Bills to draft him. But he turned out to be a great QB for a period of time. He carried that Carolina team. He has zero talent around him in New England and they still won 6 games.
  12. Never said cut Edmunds. I said I changed my mind and they should bring back Milano. They can let Edmunds walk after year 4 or if the pick up option year 5. That assumes he doesn't get any better. And he has not come along at all. He is playing as poorly as he did at the beginning of the year just not as bad as the first few games after the injury.
  13. Lol. I don't think our players are any better in the cold. We are a finesse passing team. Arm strength matters in the wind not when the ball and field are wet. Rivers and Roethlisberger are old and the cold will affect them. Not with Barkley at QB against their defense. We will be lucky to score 10 points.
  14. Establishing the run hasnt been a thing since Brady and Moss emerged. Its a passing league and has been for over a decade. Pass and rush the passer. Can you win with a run game like Baltimore and Tenn? Yes but that is the exception not the rule any longer.
  15. Good take. What you describe is what it will take to beat the Bills. If the Bills don’t settle for FGs, get a turnover or two, and don’t get completely manhandled at the LOS they should win against anyone
  16. Just want to clarify. I am not advocating Edmunds is released or even traded this off season. I would pick up his fifth year option and see how he plays the next two years before committing big dollars to him. He is still young and maybe he gets better, but he has not done enough to justify an extension yet. Bills have all the leverage. I truly hope he is the long term answer at MLB. I doubt it but would love to be wrong. I still think if he is played like TJ Watt is used in Pittsburgh he would be a superstar.
  17. Do you bench Allen when he fumbles? Did Moss get his carries cut ? He is the best TE on the roster. He made two great catches. Keep feeding him the ball. He drops more than average but they all drop some.
  18. Interesting take. In 2020 NFL, you may be correct that your MLB may need to be better in coverage than in run defense. It's harder to tell on the TV how he is doing in coverage. They don't always show his drops. He seems rangy but I have not seen him break up many passes this year.
  19. 8 guys opted out and two of their top 4 defenders. They have holes everywhere. Doubt they can fix it in one year. They likely need two off-seasons to reload. Unsure if Belichick even has it in him to try. They would need to add two high quality receiving targets and a couple linemen just to be competitive on offense. They might stick with Newton or be in the running for Ryan or Garoppolo or Winston. There will be numerous veteran QBs on the market again this year. They are dead and buried this year. Belichick built a great non-name defense in the past. He has cap space. I suspect he can do it again. I just don't think they can do it in one year. With a 3rd place schedule they could stay competitive until the final quarter of the season.
  20. I'm sure they will be happy with the collective defensive effort and result, but the coaches grade the individual performances too.
  21. From what I see Edmunds is lined up over the center >80% of the time. He had 5-7 snaps lined up on the outside shoulder of the tackle. He mostly dropped into zone but was man to man on the RB a few times - he went into coverage and delayed blitzed on a couple plays after seeing the RB stay in to block. That is classic MLB play in a base 4-3 or nickel D. The only play I remember Milano lining up between the guards was on an early blitz call that led to a sack by Addison or Butler.
  22. The injury is the great unknown. Chances are he still needs off-season shoulder surgery. If that is the case maybe 2021 looks more like 2019 when it really looked liek he was playing at a high level.
