  1. Lol. Allen was my no 1 and Rosen my no 2. Had Allen gone to the Browns or Jets "expert" Beane would have taken one of the other QBs. Beane was bold trading up to get Allen but he was taking one of those QBs in the first round no matter what happened earlier in the first round.
  2. 100% agree. The ranking will drop but they will be a better defense. Hopefully when it matters most in the post-season.
  3. Glass houses...Rob Johnson, JP Losman, EJ, Edwards, Peterman ...I want to puke just thinking about thus list I still don't understand why they just didn't keep Baker. Why spend all that money on Watson. Is he really that special? I never thought so. Baker played hurt much if last season. Dumb moves but Bills fans have no room to criticize bad QB decisions.
  4. Exactly. JA was instantly the 2nd highest paid QB in the league, just behind SB Champion Mahomes. When Bills win a SB this year and Allen's contact drops out of the top 5 don't be surprised if gets a new deal.
  5. QB - Namath and Griese WR - Lynn Swann RB - Curtis Martin LB - Willie McGinest DL - Howie Long, Cortez Kennedy DB - Ty Law
  6. Unfortunately the hardest part of the schedule is the first 7 games. They play Stafford, Jackson, Mahommes and Rodgers during that span in addition to the wrecking ball Derrick Henry. Good news is only one of the 7 games is against an AFC East opponent.
  7. And Reid's replacement won it in year 2 going from 4th in the Division to 1st and a SB win - with a second year QB and a back-up QB in the SB. Dungy's replacement won in Tampa the first year. McDermott needs to win in the next two years or they need to find someone that can. They can not waste Allen's talent.
  8. I look at it the other way. If no SB in the next two years with Allen, the Bills need a new coach. Obviously I hope McD can win multiple Championships with Allen. But I remain a skeptic and 13 seconds did nothing to assuage my skepticism.
  9. Tyrod is still tied for second all time in lowest Interception percentage at 1.6%. He is tied with Mahommes and only Aaron Rodgers at 1.3% is lower. The difference obviously is those two QBs still take plenty of chances with the ball and produce TD's and wins. The Bills led the league in rushing two years in a row with TT and I believe were top 10 in points both years. If Rex didn't destroy the defense he could have been an average winning QB. His Bills legacy was forever written in Jax. It was a game the Bills should have won but he was terrible all game and missed a wide open TE (Clay?) for a go ahead TD in the second half.
  10. These are my bottom 5 1. Barkley - It is stupid to carry 3 QBs when you have a franchise guy and Barkley has already shown he is not good enough 2. Haack - They are only keeping one punter obviously and it will be the rookie 3. Stevenson - he didn't show much last year and Austin can return kicks and play some WR if needed 4. Gilliam - He has no talent at a position that is useless. If they really wanted a FB, they could upgrade without difficulty. Hope this is the year they just get rid of him. I would rather keep Taiwan to play special teams and I hate special teams only players. 5. Doyle - OJ Howard is a legit 2nd TE and far superior blocker than Sweeney. Doyle has no athletic ability to play OT. There are far better OT options on the team now that can perhaps play some OG. One of them can play the third TE role Doyle did last year when needed. 5a. Kumerow - see OJ Howard above. Howard gives you another guy they can split out wide when they want to show a power run formation. Jones does more on special teams, and they are 6 deep at WR without Kumerow. I think they carry an extra CB and one less WR this year whiel White gets back in to playing shape. Ford and Epenesa still have a shot at the final roster. Ford has a new OL coach. Epenesa has shown little but if they carry 9 or 10 DL again, he probably makes it. Sweeney has a small shot to make the roster but only if they get rid of Gilliam. Sweeney does not have NFL talent but if he flashes in training camp or Howard is slow to pick up the offense he might make the final 53.
  11. Why all the hate on this player? Bills just signed a 33 year old to 120M. Chiefs traded a ton of picks for him, why would he not ask for top dollar? He my not be as good as Trent Williams but he is in the conversation for top 5 LT, he is young, he is already playing under the tag, and the salary cap is going up. He put in his time and the system is set up to reward guys on their second contract. He might not get $25M a year but why would you start negotiating at a lower number if he is already playing on a tag.
  12. Please explain? How does a pound of muscle weigh more than a pound of fat or a pound of flesh?
  13. 18 games, 2 bye weeks, 1 preseason game. The pandemic showed preseason games are worthless. Paying full ticket price to watch guys that will be bagging groceries two weeks later is ridiculous. This gets you twenty weeks of great football as compared to the 17 of the past and 18 weeks we get now. More revenue for the league and therefore more revenue for the players. Additional benefit of two bye weeks is with proper scheduling most teams that play on Thursday can be given more rest.
  14. Is it just me or does the mom, girlfriend #1, #2, Zach, and the BYU WR all look related to each other? I can’t even tell the guys from the girls that well.
  15. And by my recollection he has had play calling duties taken away at least twice by McDermott. Nice guy but not someone I would hire as HC. There are far worse retread hires that have been made though. Mostly failed white guys like Marrone, Jauron, Mularkey, Whisenhunt, McDaniels, Ryan, Mangini, and McCarthy that have gotten second chances. Frazier has as good or bad of a record as this horrible list of retreads.
  16. He is not underrated by those that saw him play. He was a great RB. He was a bit faster than Thurman and could run inside or outside. No Bills RB had the power OJ did but Cribbs and Thurman were amazing in their own right. Thurman may have been a better pure RB as he read his blockers as well as any RB the league has ever seen and found creases for 5 yard gains when there should have been none. Agree especially when you look at both the current and the various throwback options. Would love to see the red helmet and dark navy that Kelly wore his first year come back for a game or two.
  17. Maybe GM's have better insight and can get more facts than we do. But it would seem hard to evaluate a guy like Frazier when all he is doing is running McD's defense. Same for Bienemy. Now we have seen many OC's hired as HC that worked under a HC that was previously an OC. The Bill Walsh tree of the past and now the McVay tree currently. Belichick had several defensive disciples with at best mixed results. Pete Carroll had had three former defensive coaches get HC jobs in Gus Bradley, Robert Saleh(was not a DC with Seattle), and Dan Quinn. Two of the three were busts as HC's and one is TBD.
  18. Fair enough. He was 2 in shorter but he didn't stay at 215 fairly long. The height evolution at QB is interesting. In the past being too tall was felt to be a negative. Then guys like Brady and Manning come along and even though they are statues back there they move in the pocket well enough to dominate. Now guys like Newton, Josh, and Herbert are the total package of height, passing ability, and athletic ability in and out of the pocket. It probably in some part relates to college offenses running so much read option.
  19. Has this board ever heard of John Elway? Same size, arm strength, and athletic ability. Played in an era where it was much harder to be a passer. Or Brett Favre? He wasn't as fast running but obviously had the toughness and the arm strength. Steve Young was an amazing passer and runner though his running was not as violent as JA's. Montana was also sneaky mobile early on. Obviously not the arm strength of JA though.
  20. Allen makes it an all-time draft. If the Jets had taken Allen and Buffalo took Rosen or Darnold, Beane and McD would likely be out of jobs. We will never know how Beane ranked all the QBs. But give credit for Beane going up to get Allen after the Jets passed on him and criticize him for giving up picks to go up and get Edmunds. Taron is a great player. Far far better than many on this board give him credit. Edmunds is (fill in the blank) Phillips probably is an unknown. He had maybe 6 quality games in Buffalo. Had he been healthy who knows. I don't care much about special teams players, but to get a guy that plays 20+ plays a game late in the draft is a good pick. Many teams play multiple safety looks and Neal is decent in that role.
  21. They don't. Never said they did. But the fact is he was injured most of last year with a torn labrum in his left shoulder requiring surgery. He played through the pain. Allen played a few of his worst games with a labrum injury too. A healthy Mayfield is a middle of the road starting QB in this league. I'm not even a Baker fan. I had him ranked below Allen and Rosen and just above Darnold.
  22. Interesting take. I agree Keenum is solid. Will be very interesting to see what Trubisky does. I think he still can be a solid starter in the right setting. I'm higher on Mayfield than most. He got his team to the playoffs and played KC better than Allen did in 2020. Tua is a great unknown. Impressive completion percentage with a rag arm. And can he stay healthy? He has as good a supporting cast as anyone now.
  23. A number 1 that got them to the playoffs and played hurt for you last year. Even if Watson plays is he that much better than a healthy Baker?? Haslam is a moron for that deal he made for Watson Schefter has a Bills helmet on a shelf behind him. But I read on here the media hates Buffalo???
