Questions to ponder during the bye week
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to FilthyBeast's topic in The Stadium Wall
Honestly i thought the OL did a bad job at points, and at other points, a great job. They played a good team, that was playing above their potential last night, at least on defense. Spencer Brown was a liability last night, that’s part of the growth process. Same with Rousseau. Now we’ll see what they’re made of and how well they respond to coaching. Im disappointed, but this is still a great team. -
[Vague Title] Something that I learned last night
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to OrtonHearsaWho's topic in The Stadium Wall
When he played for the Giants, all the local radio hosts called him Jackrabbit. He’s not the player he used to be, so the name doesn’t really apply. I’ll still take Griese over Collinsworth. -
You’re right. Big picture is clearly painted. Get better, stay focused, and win the games. Henry is a unique player. It’s not like he hasn’t done this to every team the Titans have played. The Defense is still very good. The offense is still very good. Coaching is still very good. But they can do better, and they know that. And that’s what's so great about this team.

It was my fault the Bills lost....

I should’ve changed my shirt. I thought about it, and said “nah, this is the right one.” I was wrong. Sorry everyone. -
Rank The Buffalo Bills Starting QB’s Since Jim Kelly

Tuel, Peterman, Brohm. God that’s hard to believe. I remember banging the drum for Brohm. I really had a lot to rethink about my ability to judge players. -
Lost my Dad in April of ‘89, right before the beginning of the run. Lost my Mom in August of ‘17, just about when everything started to come together. Our last game together was Bills/Vikings Preseason game. I was home caring for her at the end, and we continued our life long tradition of watching the games together in the family room. I think about the both of them every week. My kids hearing me talk trash to Cris Colinsworth, and telling my wife “this is NOTHING compared to what my Father yelled” when she chided me for my language(Which wasn’t that bad). I think about the parties and the food, and the smell of cigarettes and beer, and the yelling and swearing. I think about all the down years, that were painful for my Mom as a fan, but she always stayed optimistic. I like to think that they’re both together wherever you go, watching from the couch and the recliner, screaming the way I do with my family now. Thanks for starting this thread OP!

10/10/21 Gameday Lightning Strike Delay thread
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
As a guy who works in Television Production; lightning delays are the WORST. Momentum is a huge part of what I do for work, and lighting delays(half hour for every strike within 6 miles) ruins a day. I can’t imagine what this does to a football team. -

I love the presentation of Football Night In America. But Chris Collinsworth is the absolute worst. -

Should I wear a drought era Jersey for tonight, or go with the standard t shirt sweat pants routine that got us to the championship game? I wore the sweats for that game, so I’m not sure if they’re in for tonight. I could wear a Fitzpatrick, T.O., Stevie Johnson, or Poz. -

I hate the Jets with unbridled passion
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to RobbRiddicksTDLeap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is wonderful. I’m thrilled this post made it back to the front page. HEATED Rivalries make sports fun. I have this stupid shirt I wear when the Bills play, it’s the Dos Equis guy and it reads: ”I don’t always hate, but when I do, I prefer to hate the Jets, Dolphins, and Patriots. STAY VICTORIOUS MY FRIENDS! My wife really doesn’t like when I wear it, because it “confuses the kids.” I wear it anyway because I think there’s something healthy about channeling my daily frustrations, into the sorrow and misfortune of the NY Jets. Growing up, the hate of the Dolphins still rings true to me. If you don’t hate every Patriots player from the drought years, I have questions for you. The pain in Greeney’s voice is real. I felt that way about the Bills in my life. And during those drought years, and hearing about Mark Sanchez and Bart Scott, and how they were going to be the next great dynasty and Blah blah blah, made me sick. Being on the other side of it feels good. It feels even better when they say, “man I wish we would have taken Josh Allen” and I smile my biggest smile, and say “I bet.” Go Bills! -
Ahhhhh, so basically a long onsides kick? I kept trying to see who touched it, but i guess it didn’t matter because it wasn’t waved off. Smart heads up play by Washington.
-
Considering there was no replay of the turnover, I was curious if anyone knows exactly what happened on that play? I have no idea who made contact, and how no Bills player could get to the ball. Sorry Mods, if this is overblown on the board.

It’s the worst. At least the seasons that the Bills were terrible, I never dreamed of talking about how the good the George Edwards hybrid defense was going to be. Or, how the potent Turk Schonert offense was going to set records, league wide. These clowns on the other hand… -

I live on Long Island. It’s rotten with the worst fans of the worst teams in the NFL, save Philadelphia; which we all know is a trash town full of trash people. All day at work i have to listen them talk about how their team is GOING to be great, and then this… This kid gets it, and I love it. -
Picking up Edmunds Option a Rare Beane Mistake
RobbRiddicksTDLeap replied to Billy Zabka's topic in The Stadium Wall
The CLASSIC Paul Pozluzny Gambit. Fans want Butkus or Urlacher or Lewis, but the reality of the position is very different. Tremaine Edmunds is an excellent MLB. He didn’t stand out to us, because most of us aren’t paying attention to him filling running lanes, and forcing backs to the outside, unblocked defender. Sometimes they break out, and those “hugging players 8 yards downfield” is a 6’4” 250lb man, chasing down a RB. That’s impressive. If they don’t extend him, the defense will suffer, like it did when they replaced Poz, with Marcus Buggs. -
