  1. The same Ereck Flowers who got benched twice in 2 different positions while on one of the worst offensive lines in the history of the game? Im all for guys getting paid, but this is out of hand.
  2. Correct. He’s not that dumb. It’s click bait journalism at its finest. He writes this, tweets it out, and because it’s so bad, people talk about and circulate the article. The key in all this is that McBeane are not this dumb.
  3. I think he played in a conservative offense for years under Gilbride, which kept his stats low. He is a proven winner and leader. Top 10, he would be close, but certainly not too 5.
  4. He’s one of the best of his era. He has two all time great throws IN a super bowl, including the one that iced the perfect season. He deserves it based on the Tyree play alone.
  5. Unless he grows to master the scheme. Ultimately as a coach, that’s the goal. You want the athlete to master your scheme so that you can think and act as one in game. A good coach knows how to tweak the scheme to make it more accessible. Taking out the option routes, defeats the purpose of this offense, which is disguise. If Daboll stays, my hope is that he learns from his play calling mistakes, and works to provide constant rhythm for Allen. He clearly does better in the passing game when he gets in a rhythm. I know that’s obvious, but many times this season, it didn’t appear that it was to Daboll. This offense could be so deadly with better WR’s, and consistent play calling. It honestly is wonderful to be only complaining about that in the offseason.
  6. I wonder if Beane feel like Daryl Johnson has come along enough the take Lawson’s roll in the rotation. That would certainly free up at least a roster spot for an edge rusher in the draft.
  7. You’re kind of right, but proper technique can overcome his physical limitations. The idea is to chip the rusher, and by an extra second. The RB in situations like that isn’t being asked to contain the rusher and create a lane. They’re the last line of defense before you get over run. Like most rookie RB’s, pass protection is the biggest area to improve from season 1, to 2. I feel he will develop just fine in the offseason, and not be a liability on passing downs come next season.
  8. Id like this move more than Green. I think he fits the scheme a bit better with his ability to move in the middle of the field.
  9. The broadcast camera showed him run to the pile, and reach in. You couldn’t see what he was doing, but like i said, the onfield mics picked up the referee talking with someone saying “face mask 55”.
  10. This! He, above everyone else, has to play clean. But he can’t help himself. And I don’t hate that either. He’s probably a great teammate. Everyone on that team knows he gets after people, guys like that are great in a fight. But man does he have to be smart. I remember watching him dig into the pile, and I said “here it comes, personal foul” and sure enough. He just couldn’t stand by and watch his guy get piled on. So he grabbed a guys face mask to get them off the pile. He reached into the pile and grabbed a Texans player by the face mask. The on field mics picked up the ref saying “face mask 55” before he made the call.
  11. I’m not surprised by this, and frankly, that’s upsetting. This is the kind of thing that has become acceptable in a world run by twitter
  12. I was pointing out that other teams with a need at the position, passed on Metcalf. You claimed that didn’t happen. Ford played poorly at times, and better at others. That’s what happens. It’s obvious that the plan was to groom Ford and bring him along slowly, but injuries happened and he was forced to play. I stand by my vote. I’d still take Ford over Metcalf, because I’m not convinced he would have produced the way that he did in Seattle, and that’s because of the coaching staff, specifically the S&C coaches.
  13. So the Patriots, who had a need passed on him, and took Harry. The Ravens, Titans, and Niners, all took receivers NOT named D.K. Metcalf. Talent evaluators saw a lot they didn’t like in him, and Seattle took a swing and came away with a good player.
  14. One play, against one of the best Defensive Players of his generation. Man, i get it, you’re smarter than everyone else AND you would have drafted a better team AND coached a better game. But seriously man, give it a rest.
  15. You’re so cool. Nseke was a turnstile yesterday in the 3rd quarter; coincidentally the time when the pass protection fell apart.
  16. No, in fact it wasn’t even close. https://www.fanduel.com/theduel/posts/6311352-d-k-metcalf-shuttle-and-3-cone-times-at-nfl-combine-worse-than-tom-brady
  17. Getting killed? Come on man, use some objectivity here. Metcalf is a good player too, both have made rookie mistakes, and both have made good plays. Without pass protection, Metcalf would be useless on any team. The Bills were not the only team with a need, that passed on him multiple times. There was a reason for that.
  18. Have you ever run one? That’s exactly what it’s used for. To measure speed and agility. It’s an excellent way to measure a football players agility.
  19. And so has Metcalf. He’s disappeared for huge chunks of games, and at times has looked lost in run blocking. He’s a good player, and no doubt will get better. But so will Ford. You may not want to believe that, but it’s true.
  20. I’d still take Ford. I think he has played really well at RT, and if they decide move him to RG, I’m fine with that too. He’s a tough, powerful grinder. I like Metcalf, I didn’t think he was going to be as good as he has been this year. Honestly, Seattle was probably the best place for him. They have a tremendous S&C department there, and his biggest issue was agility. Having an MVP caliber QB has also been a huge part of his development. I have no issue with these picks. Either would have been a big piece for the future of the Bills.
  21. I mean, she’s not wrong. They can’t go huge on this contract. He’s very good and played a big part of this teams success, but let’s not roll out the armored car for him.
  22. I don’t know that’s true. I think he spent his time on the PS getting into NFL game shape. It’s a lot different than the CFL, especially lining up in formation and rules of motion. I think he was stashed away on the 53 to protect him from being poached. I have zero issue with the approach the staff or FO took with him this season.
  23. This!!! I said this in another post. The bigger issue is now the referee can use “common sense” to determine “intent”. Neither of which matter in a game with clearly defined and UNIVERSALLY accepted rules. The example of the victory formation is perfect. The intent is there to take a knee, but you don’t have too and it’s a live ball until you do. Ask Greg Schiano.
