Greg Olsen of FOX's A-team called his last game yesterday as FOX's lead analyst. He will be demoted next year to the B-team to be paired by Joe Davis most likely. He will take a 70% pay cut from $10 million to just $3 million (I know: first-world problems). Tom Brady has been groomed to take his place. Under his 10-year contract, he will make $375 million ($37.5 million a year), which is more than his lifetime NFL salary of $333 million. He will join the A-team of Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews, and Tom Rinaldi. https://frontofficesports.com/five-burning-questions-foxs-tom-brady-greg-olsen-dilemma/ The lead analysts opening for a network is rare, once in a generation. From the article: "Troy Aikman of ESPN and Cris Collinsworth of NBC Sports, for example, have served as No. 1 color commentators for 22 straight seasons. Super Bowl LVIII analyst Tony Romo is wrapping his seventh season at CBS Sports. His predecessor, Phil Simms, held the job for 19 years.". The sad part is Olsen, by all accounts, has been outstanding at his job: "Olsen has been a revelation in his three seasons on the air. He’s become a fan favorite on social media—with some calling for Fox to keep him in the top job, Brady or no Brady. In his first season as lead analyst, Olsen called the NFL’s most-watched Super Bowl and regular-season game of all time, winning the Emmy Award for “Outstanding Personality—Emerging On-Air Talent.”" The article said Olsen was taking it all in stride and respects the GOAT. Tom Brady has also been working hard preparing for his new role, asking Troy Aikman, Joe Buck, and New England play-by-play announcer Sott Zolak for help. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/episode-120-guest-co-host-joe-buck-on-al-michaels-tom/id1587364692?i=1000640409178 https://awfulannouncing.com/fox/tom-brady-turns-former-patriots-quarterback-for-broadcasting-advice.html Brady was also potted at a dinner with Erin Andrews in November, preparing for his new gig: https://www.tmz.com/2023/11/14/tom-brady-dinner-erin-andrews-beverly-hills-restaurant-fox/

Here are the 13 SB ads released so far (mostly previews/teasers) with YouTube videos on the link. Nothing so far really impressed me or was funny. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/super-bowl-2024-commercials-watch-all/5078082/ [go to the link to see them -- too many to embed here] 1. Michelob Ultra featuring Messi: Lionel Messi makes his Super Bowl debut in an ad for Michelob Ultra. The teaser to what will be a 60-second spot shows Messi ordering a beer as he walks up to a beachside bar, and his reaction when the tap stops pouring. 2. Budweiser brings back the Clydesdales After criticism last year from disappointed fans over Budweiser's commercial that only included a brief cameo of the beloved horses, Anheuser-Busch is bringing back the Clydesdale horses to lead the charge in this year's spot. The storyline, according to a press release from the beer purveyor, will be a "classic Budweiser storyline with nods to past Super Bowl spots, elements of nostalgia and, of course, crisp and refreshing Budweiser." 3. Doritos featuring Jenna Ortega "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega really wants some Doritos Dinamita, but the grocery store shelves are empty. So who took all the Dinamitas?, Doritos teases. Viewers will have to tune on Feb. 11 to find out. 4. Reese's Cups Reese's is teasing "big changes" coming for the iconic candy on Feb. 11 in its first Super Bowl commercial since 2020. 5. Pringles featuring a mustache Is Chris Pratt replacing "Mr. P," the longtime Pringles mascot? The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor is sporting a mustache for this teaser, which calls on fans to keep an eye out for everyday people or things that appear to resemble "Mr. P." Submit your sightings on Instagram or TikTok using the hashtags #ISeeMrP #PringlesContest for a chance to win $15,000. 6. Nerds featuring Addison Rae Singer Addison Rae stars in this Super Bowl ad as a dance instructor teaching a choreography routine to Irene Cara’s iconic “What a Feeling.” But who is the mystery dance student? 7. M&M's 8. Popeyes 9. Hellman's 10. Uber Eats 11. Coors Light chill train 12. Volkswagen 13. Oreo

NFL Brazil still has it as SF-BAL. They didn't update their graphic yet. [Translation: "SALES OPEN FOR NFL IN BRAZIL! Even bigger and better, the OFFICIAL Super Bowl LVIII viewing party is back, on February 9th, 10th and 11th, at Arca, in São Paulo. Guarantee your ticket now at [url]"] -
Australia fans: ESPN will have Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, and Louis Riddick calling the game, with no sideline reporter most likely. New Zealand fans: the game, in addition to being on ESPN and TVNZ1, will be on Duke. ----------- Second post: This is the first rematch of SB teams since 2011, when New England played the Giants, a rematch from 2007. But there is a big re-make of both teams: ------------ Third post: KC is the designated home team. Being the home team does not guarantee the home team's locker room though. ------------ Fourth post:
