  1. Not necessarily. A good, reliable WR who can get open and compete for catches WAS MISSED. Gabe usually doesn't do that anyway. He's played his last game as a Bill anyway, so time to move on.
  2. McDermott's limited offensive strategy and philosophy will continue to hinder this team until he is gone as head coach. It might take Pegula 5 more years to realize this. McDimwit's approach leaves a TINY margin for error. It's why we have lost the big ones. Why not build an approach with a large margin for error?
  3. It's frustrating right now, because the only human on Earth right now who has the power to fix this situation, in my opinion, is Terry Pegula. As a lifelong Sabres fan, I can tell you you really do not want to put your future in that man's hands. This reminds me of that 20 year period when we were all waiting for Ralph to die, quite frankly. Until that happened, this team was going nowhere. Now, we wait until Pegula summons the courage to fire McD and move forward. Will it come this offseason? I don't think so.
  4. This is the natural off-season to change the coaching staff. Team will be in upheaval anyway. The new guy will want some new personnel and want the offense built in a certain manner. That's fine...we need a new WR corps anyway. First item of business would be to get rid of all of these underachieving D-linemen if possible.
  5. The Bengals are definitely a better team than us, that matches up really well against us. Them being magically removed from the equation this year was like a gift from God. We blew that too.
  6. A lot of fans here seem to think the Bills can somehow win the Super Bowl in October, or maybe November one of these years. We've seen McDermott's ceiling and it came a couple of years ago. How long he sticks around until he is replaced is purely up to Pegula, which really drives me nuts. He is an IDIOT....so until Pegula announces McD is gone, it's gonna be same old same old around here.
  7. I totally agree. This game is definitely NOT the "Bass missed FG" game. The fact of the matter is the last series of downs Josh didn't play very well at all, and when time is running out, that's the difference between winning and losing. Lots of things prior to that could have gone differently too so that Josh didn't even need to perform well at the end. Notice how our great running game totally died in the 2nd half. Also, note how our D couldn't stop KC AT ALL in the entire second half. Adjustments, tactics, Xs and Ox, and coaching. IT matters...and we got outreached again tonight. Why would this matchup ever look different? This is as weak as KC has been in years; we got them on our field. Mahomes' first road playoff game and all that crap.... Why would it be different next time? Gotta regroup. That means a new HC, which we won't get. So next year will be more wheel spinning...
  8. A move like this won't move the needle at all. We need to get some major reorganization going around here. There were actually people here who thought signing Von Miller was going to put us over the top. How did that work out?
  9. I'm afraid that's probably true. I think Pegula may very well move on from McDermott, FINALLY, when we finish NEXT season more or less the same way...and we will. He's always a day late and a dollar short with important firing decisions. He held onto Lindy Ruff and then Darcy Regier WAY TOO LONG, as 1 example. If the kick had been good, KC would have made a long FG (at minimum) prior to regular time expiring. If the game actually went to OT, I just can't imagine winning for a number of reasons, mostly b/c that's where coaching matters, and we were badly outreached tonight, as usual in the big ones.
  10. I would LOVE TO SEE THIS HAPPEN. It won't though, for a number of reasons. Pegula is too stupid to move on from McDermott, and I don't think BB will come here. He might end up in LA (chargers) for example. Vrabel is out there too; another easy improvement over McD, though not my first choice. Hell, so is Pete Carroll. DO the Bills fans who fear a coaching change for fear that the new guy will suck, like most of past Bills coaches have, think Caroll can't build a playoff caliber team?
  11. With his neck situation, Hyde would be insane to play another year. He's done. Poyer may get 1 more year; he's close to being doing too. He's at least 2 steps too slow now; his position should be improved. We are going to go through that all up and down the lineup this off-season. I embrace it. IF only we had a new HC to work into the formula.
  12. Definitely NOT legendary tonight; he did a ton of stuff well like he usually does. It was a tight game, and a number of things needed to break our way to win, and none of them did. For example, we needed Josh to drive down the field and score preferably a TD at the end, and he didn't get that done with poor play. Bad choices. Failure to execute. That's not "why we lost" however. But it's a part of why we didn't win. Anyway, anyone here who thinks Josh is someone in the "problem" column is an idiot. Move on to more important topics. At least that's what I'll be doing.
  13. Wouldn't be my first choice, but remember, Vrabel is on the market too! He's an upgrade over McD however. Would LOVE to know what Pegula is doing, saying, thinking, RIGHT NOW. Who is around him? Who does he trust? What are the people around him saying to him? If only we had dedicated more money and assets to the defensive line! (That's a joke).
  14. This team is going to look a LOT different next year. It's a natural time to start over with a new HC, and build the team a bit differently. Let the new HC get the guys he wants to catch the football as part of a new offensive vision. McDermott doesn't have any offensive vision at all.
  15. McDermott got outreached by a better HC. It's always going to happen in a big game like this; the bad teams with lousy HCs don't play in January. It's been time for a couple of years to get a new HC. The market is as strong as it's been in a decade. Go get one and do things differently. This is obvious. Will Pegula do it? I don't think so.
  16. Fish Fans said that FOREVER with Marino! Lots of losers do lots of losing believing it's gonna be different some day. Gotta get a new HC who can harness 100% of what Josh makes available every game. That's for starters.
  17. I just turned 53. I've been where you are now for about 2 or 3 years now. I just want one before I die. If anyone here thinks the big win is coming with McDermott as the HC, check your sanity.
  18. Upward trajectory with McDermott is OVER. This season almost ended up a disaster, only to end where it always does, a game shy of the AFCCG. Team will look a lot different next year; it has to. Great time to rebuild and go in a new direction with a new HC. The market is as good as it's been in YEARS. Pick one and go!
  19. Please make a new HC a part of the plan; offensive genius type; use Josh correctly, and build an entirely different team with offense first and not the damned DL which didn't piss a drop tonight, as usual in the big game.
  20. Can we please get back on the fire McDermott bandwagon now? Our fun little comeback is over; now, let's go get a coach. This is the best offseason for HC availability in YEARS.
  21. And he has 2 guys in the middle for a 1st down the play after that. TERRIBLE SERIES FROM JOSH and it's going to cost us the game.
  22. A little deception play would work now. NOt a gimmick play, just some deception.
