It's definitely a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. That's why winning today under the circumstances that we did was so important.

Do you think she went though the same path as the guys to nail a spot as an NFL referee? Remember she also signaled that the Pat runner was down on his fumble and she signaled the TD on the play that was ruled incomplete. If I say any more I'll get put in Time Out and I like posting after the game so I will zip it.

Then again the defense was beyond bad during the first half allowing NE to go on two very long, time consuming TD drives that kept the O off the field and saw them not get their 2nd possession until the 2nd quarter. Like I said in another post BOTH units played poorly at times and played very well at other times. A loss could have been blamed on either unit and credit for the win could be given to either. -
What? The deep shot on 3rd and 16 that was intercepted in the end zone put the ball at the one yard line. If that isn't the definition of a highly effective pass punt I don't know what else is. At the end of the 1st half Shakir should have caught that deep shot from Allen. That would have led to 3 and maybe even 7 points right before the half. In the 2nd half the long pass to Shakir in the end zone should have been a TD. This is the NFL and Shakir should have caught both balls. He had an off day, I get it, but Allen's decisions to make those throws was sound and should have led to 7 - 10 more points. Agree. The Bills have always tried copying the Chiefs and they do pay attention to what KC is doing to win all those Super Bowl games. This season and last season the Chiefs are doing just enough to win during the regular season. As an aside I thought Bishop played well and I bet he's the starter next season. As for Elam, I'm not sure what to think but I do know that a different ref crew would not have thrown a couple of those PI flags and we would be thinking very differently about him.

Which is a very McD approach. However, they better not screw it up. Having to go to Baltimore or Pitt in the Divination Round is a big challenge. The good news is that as ugly as today's win was it makes locking up the 2nd seed a lot easier.

I watched the game and the Jets D is struggling. After going up 6 - 0 on their 1st drive of the day the Rams outscored the Jets 19 - 3 the rest of the way. I suspect that the Bills will be a bit more up for this game as it will either be played with them still having a shot at the #1 seed or if KC wins a chance to lock up the #2 seed. Today's game was sort of in no mans land with respect to it's meaning. It also came after a tough, high profile 4 game obstacle course. -
Am I seeing this all wrong but isn't the #2 seed worth playing for? I guess with a 2 game lead with 3 to go going into this game the thought was they could get the wins to lock that one up. And not taking the Pats that seriously seems to have worked out as even after everything went their way in the first quarter they still sort of self destructed and the Bills went on a 24 - 0 run before a very late ref assisted Pat's TD at the end. We're seeing load management in action and it almost bit them in the butt. The operative word here is "almost".
-
And that would not be a bad outcome as it would tell the Bills exactly where they stand with 2 games left and the could plan accordingly.
-
Even if KC wins the Bills can't rest their starters next week because Baltimore could steal the #2 seed if the Bills lose their last 2.
-
The details are that the Bills won to go 12 - 3 and the Ravens are at 10 - 5. If Buffalo and Baltimore both win the rest of their games then there is no way they give it to a 12 - 5 Jackson over a 14 - 3 Allen.
-
If Pitt wins out and Baltimore ends up as the wild card there is no way Jackson gets the MVP over Allen having a worst record and not winning his division.

Cook & Allen for sure. On D I want to give a shout out to Cole Bishop who flashed his athleticism and nose for the ball. -

On the plus side I thought Bishop played very well. He is fast and tackles well. -

And NE in the playoffs and the Jets the last 2 cold games in Buffalo. -

Off course that is exactly what it was. Don't forget KC & Det are a combined 27 - 1 against everyone not named Buffalo. Those two wins provide much stronger evidence that we will not be one and done in the playoffs then a close win against a divisional opponent. -

I think this is in part due to the fact that cold games are harder to throw in which makes Allen's performance in that 5 degree win over NE in the playoffs astonishing. It is also due in part to the fact that the Bills play these late season cold games differently then they do the earlier games. -

The entire team was off today - it happens. KC had to go to OT to beat Carolina. Baltimore lost to Cleveland. Both the D & O at times played great and at other times played like crap. You can make an effective argument that both units won the game or God forbid had we lost that they both were responsible for the loss. In the NFL the difference between highly seeded playoff teams that make runs and those that don't is winning games like this. -

The toss pitch uses more time then an off tackle play. By my count the three pitches took an extra 5 seconds off the clock. That doesn't sound like a lot but it equal to one NE play if we hadn't got that 1st down. Allen threw 3 nice passes after his injury and he ran a sneak so I'm assuming it was a stinger which took a bit to subside. -

Not to me. If the Chiefs fans ain't complaining then I'm not. -
Correct, IF KC beat the Steelers the best we could do is the #2 seed. To lock up the #2 seed we have to play to win against the Jets because if the Ravens win out they would take 2 and we would be 3. Allen will play a quarter or even a half against the pats in that last game. IMO though if we have the #2 seed locked up Allen is the MVP no matter what Jackson does the rest of the way.
-
I disagree. We have increased the likelihood of getting at least the #2 seed. On top of that, Pittsburgh will be highly motivated Wednesday against the Chiefs since they win their division if they win out. And if Denver loses to the Bengal's, which is very possible, the KC/Denver game at Mile High will be make or break for the Broncos. I never saw the Chiefs being beat by an average Houston team at Arrowhead. The two losses the Bills need from KC were always going to come at Pitt & Denver, if they came at all. Win the next two home games against bad football teams and the Bills lock up the #2 seed. Then the road game at NE is a chance to rest anyone with even a hangnail.
