It's more then silly it's dumb. Bishop is getting significant playing time which tells me he's doing very well in practice. McD is not one to go lightly with his DB's. I also suspect that on game tape, Bishop is doing better then many of us realize given that McD is sticking with him. My own admittedly less then expert eyes sees him missing some stuff but also making some nice plays to. The one thing I have noticed is that he's fast and sticks his nose in the hole. I believe he will be a very good starting safety for the Bills for years to come. His comp as far as rookie season experience is Bernard & Williams.

Also, while Burrow hasn't turned over the ball much this season the TO's he's had have been very damaging. Three of his TO's (1 INT, 2 Fum) have been returned for TD's. Burrow's fumble TD's led directly to losing two critical games - KC & Pittsburgh - both decided by less then the TD. To me you must look inside the stats if stats are a big part of your MVP decision. The Ravens last 3 drives that game involved 2 punts and then a failure to score at the end when trailing. That is on Jackson.

And while Burrow is one of the top 5 elite QB's in the NFL his stats are inflated by his bad defense. He has spent a lot more time then Allen throwing against prevent defenses desperately trying to keep the Bengals in a game.

12/29/24 GAMEDAY Week 17 Bills vs Jets Post Game Thread

I have to say I don't remember a single pass today that should have been intercepted. And Allen was unlucky that Coleman dropped one of those passes that hit him in both hands 55 yards downfield. -

In the replay I thought I saw Allen direct Coleman with a hand gesture to the place he wanted him to go for that shot? -
NFL officials are doing their best to kill the sport. Their combination of incompetence and inconsistency is making games almost unwatchable. The last few seasons I have come to loath these cretins.
-
No his entire claim is based on the simple fact that Allen has been the most valuable player on his team by a wider margin then Jackson has been on his. And Allen's team has outperformed Jackson's team. The clincher is that very few expected Allen to play this well and the Bills to do this well this season.

Like many Bills fans the constant refrain by the "experts" of this point was depressing as the summer wore on. It was close to a universal opinion. Now none of these so called "exerts" seems to remember saying this.

Coleman shows up Allen on first TD target

You are alone as a leper at a clear skin convention. -
A lot of the same guys claiming stats is all that matters now were saying over the summer that the ONLY silver lining for Allen in having his top 2 WR's & center gone was that if he had a great year and the Bills won the division he was a lock for the MVP. Funny how that has changed.

NFL officiating is making it tough to watch these games. The Bills game was beyond bad and now I'm watching a Dolphin make a routine tackle get flagged for roughing. The week to week inconsistencies are a problem. Only a moron would actually bet money on these games.

Actually Allen made 3 MVP worthy plays in the first half that won't appear on the stat sheet. Hopefully the voters will still consider them. -

It would be nice to see a Bills WR make a great catch on a spectacular throw. -
Acho plays two different roles in his announcing. In one he's a devils advocate on the show stirring things up. At other times I've watched his analysis of plays on twitter and he's quite good with the details - right up there with a Baldy & Greg Cossell.

And it's a good point to make. Allen has already played a home game in a snowstorm and in bitter cold. Today is likely to add high winds & rain. That's 3 games where you just won't be seeing 75% completion %, 350 yards and 4 TD.s. This is why statistics are only a part of the assessment. Year in and year out Allen will always be at a big disadvantage late in the season because of the weather. -
So for those folks terrified at maybe playing the Bengals the Steelers need to win their game to win their division. And given the fact that NO team wants to go into the playoffs riding a 4 game losing streak it will be a tall order for the Bengal's to go into Pittsburgh and get the win.

All of the above. To be fair to McD and the Bills they've bought into the concept of load management. The problem is that this concept is still evolving for the NFL and involves one of the most dangerous things you can do in football before a game - assume your opponent sucks and plan accordingly. The Bills would say that while it was stressful at the end they got it right against NE.
-
Jackson has won the same number of MVP's as Mahomes while Burrow, Stafford & Allen have yet to win one. There is no reasonable argument that can be made claiming Jackson is in any way "underappreciated". It's ridiculous on its face.

I could be wrong but it just doesn't have the same vibe. The Jets aren't playing for their coach or Rogers and the Bills were coming off an intense 4 game stretch of games. A let down against a bad team on paper was bound to happen and it did - last week. I would be surprised and dismayed if McD didn't have them ready fr this game. I also think the Bills will be focused and business like in dealing with the Jets. After all last weeks game was played with the Bills playoff positioning still a bit fuzzy, this week it's clear as glass - beat the Jets, lock up the #2 seed and have an unofficial bye the next week.
-
Also last week was NE's Super Bowl. After they got up 14 - 0 the Bills went on a 24 - 0 tear for about two and a half quarters.
-
The Giants were dumb enough to let Barkley go to the Eagles so who knows? But even the Jets can't be that stupid.................right?
-
And if it doesn't happen I have no doubt that Allen SHOULD be the MVP.
