  1. My guess is that the earliest we see the team get better would be when free agency kicks off on Wednesday, March 17th. This free agent period will allow Beane to sign players from other organizations to contracts that bind them to the Buffalo Bills organization. If that doesn’t happen I think the other option to get better would be during the 2021 NFL Draft. It begins on Thursday, April 29th and concludes on Saturday, May 1st. In short, we can see the Bills get better as early as Wednesday, March 17th but no later than Saturday, May 1st.
  2. My guess would be yes. I would hope that Beane/McDermott sat down with Daboll and discussed the feasibility of fixing the run game with the exact same OL... and the answer was yes it’s possible. Otherwise I think they would have made adjustments. They already have the pass game worked out at a very high level... they can skew the amount of time they spend in camp implementing better run concepts. That’s just a guess on my end... but feels like how they would handle this.
  3. Brandon Beane is on an f’n heater. Draft is wide open now... and FA value signings will be fun to follow. They think they have something with the people in the building... and want to keep adding.
  4. Coming into a serious thread and making your first comments in that thread a joke about someone’s addiction shouldn’t sit well with anyone and deserves to be called out. It doesn’t matter what the intention is... it’s in poor taste. If you want to let that kind of behavior go unchecked... that’s fine. It’s not cancel culture... they’re still going to be here and that’s part of the reason for doing it... to avoid similar situations in the future. It’s calling someone out for inappropriate behavior... if this is a simple message board of like minded people... having a standard and some intramember accountability shouldn’t be an issue with anyone. I like to believe everyone on here would help someone who is in serious need and I’m sure everyone does... but what you say and do behind closed doors or in this case with a cloak of anonymity on a message board seems like a more accurate representation of how you truly feel. I would say keeping someone accountable and pointing out inappropriate behavior and making jokes about someone’s addiction are on two different ends of the spectrum.
  5. Great joke. While you’re making jokes about alcoholism do you have any about rape, depression, suicide, genocide, poverty or murder? ***** #######.
  6. After looking at his post I see exactly what you're saying... I'd like to think he didn't meant it that way... my interpretation was that he meant the traumatic experiences (playoff loss, contract issues) that lead him to the place that he was were insignificant compared to the traumatic experiences that lead the people he was surrounded with to that same place... not that his life was better than theirs... but I can completely understand how it came across in a way where he made it seem like he thought he was better than the people he was in AA with. Not trying to dismiss you at all... just giving my initial interpretation of what he said... but fully understand your point of view and definitely see where it came across exactly that way. Trying to find some common ground here.
  7. You’re lecturing someone about shouting down another addict when you made this statement 3 pages back? Glad he is in a good place. Now is the time to hit him up for a pay cut. What makes you think you can talk about sympathy and how to treat people? Seriously... maybe it doesn’t bother you but it surely bothered other folks on here... even if you were saying it in jest... which is equally as grotesque as what you’re lecturing someone on. You’ve been shouting down an addict in Poyer across this thread... don’t you find any irony in your statement? Can’t wait to watch the word gymnastics you perform next...
  8. I don’t think either make it there... but the potential of a guy like Rousseau in Buffalo would be amazing...
  9. I would’ve rather spent the money on Cam Newton. Former MVP.
  10. Hold on real quick... let me go back and see all the players making $11M or more and whether or not it has any correlation to injuries... salary isn’t relevant when it comes to playing often or missing time... a higher or lower salary doesn’t make you more or less healthy.
  11. This is also random and cherry picked? You already acknowledged that Milano didn’t start right away as a rookie and came on late in the season... doesn’t that have an impact on the snaps he played? Especially comparing it day 1 starter CJ Mosley’s snaps played in his first two seasons... Your use of numbers is disingenuous.
  12. Except in the scenario he turns out to be their starter... then they get more... or in the scenario they cut him because he sucks... then they get less... And right now, at this moment in time, he’s their starter.
  13. Cam isn’t Brady and I find it unlikely that Bill is going to manage to surround Cam with the best supporting cast in the NFL to hide those deficiencies. They’ve got 40% of their o-line leaving in FA and their two most effective RB... if they want them back they’re going to have to get paid. 3 or 4 major contributors on defense that need to get paid... they’ve got room for 1-2 impact offensive signings... but after last year who really wants to play with Cam? Nobody is lining up at the door. He wasn’t just struggling because of the team around him... he’s been struggling for like 5 years now... he’s just not the same player he was in the first half of his career. He couldn’t even make simple out throws outside the hash marks without skipping them... that’s not on the WR or the playbook. I do agree with your last point though... they will still be a tough out... at least I believe that.
  14. I agree seeing loyalty is nice... seriously. With that being said... every team and player dealt with adversity last season. Those are all fair points to bring up about Cam... but was it his skill position player’s fault that he was throwing the ball into the turf? Was it because of COVID his previously bad mechanics were just absolutely horrendous? They’re going to continue to be a tough out and assuredly won’t be the worst team in the NFL... but after the season Cam just had... $14M is not warranted. He’s broken and it has nothing to do with the circumstances surrounding last season.
  15. How can you claim he’s injury prone without defining what injury prone is? It’s 14 games... which is what Milano has averaged in his 4 years. He no more or less injury prone than any other player in the NFL. Players get hurt in the NFL and miss games... that’s just part of it. I didn’t ask you about 2020... which was a historic year for injuries across the NFL.. I asked you about the seasons prior to 2020.
  16. I also want to ask you... how many games is the average NFL player expected to play? I know the answer but I’d like to see if you do.. because injury prone means that player misses MORE games than the average player... so just curious... how many games is the average NFL player expected to play per season?
  17. Can you point out his lack of availability beyond this season? You referenced it twice... what other long significant stretches did he miss in past seasons? Asking for an uneducated friend... I also want to ask you... how many games is the average NFL player expected to play? I know the answer but I’d like to see if you do.. because injury prone means that player misses MORE games than the average player... so just curious... how many games is the average NFL player expected to play per season?
  18. They’re using fancy math and formulas to make their predictions... not all that different than NFL teams do (albeit with their own individual tweaks) folks around here better get used to them fancy models and mathematics...
  19. And Milano missed 6 of those games... sift through that and get back to me... Would also love to see what the rest of the NFL looked like against TE including the playoffs... otherwise you’re just throwing random numbers around with zero context...
  20. Do you think if we ask Jacksonville nicely they will trade us Trevor Lawrence for that loser Josh Allen?
  21. You told me you were clear and consistent... you very clearly weren’t. Need I go back? Plenty of people agree with me and you’re garnering support from a notorious troll... tough hill to die on. Let’s bounce Milano for one bad game then too? The defense was down according to expectations WHEN Milano didn’t play lol. Second half of the season when he was entirely healthy they were a top 10 defense by DVOA...
  22. Not it’s not crystal clear because it’s inconsistent with your first two posts in this thread... you talked about impact on getting a pass rusher first and then followed up with a totally different post about pass rusher or OL... Its your fault not mine... try again
  23. It’s apparently really hard because you’re catching flack left and right... You have NOT been consistent. Your #1 priority is protecting the franchise... fine... but then you tell me the whole off-season is about catching the Chiefs and how bad our defense was... newsflash protecting our QB with a $10M contract for a RT isn’t fixing our defense... and it’s going to have the same effect on signing a pass rusher while also creating another hole on defense... We’re also not releasing our RT... he’s a free agent... there’s a difference.
  24. Ok so they were 3-3 without him and 12-1 within him including the playoffs? Does that really change my point? I normally don’t include playoff game information or stats because it’s its own animal. Your gripe this entire back and forth has been about the defense with Milano not being good enough to stop KC... so now you want to scrap Milano in favor of someone unproven that could set the defense back and introduce a new pass rusher that gets defense back to the level Milano provides? Instead of keeping Milano and adding a proven pass rusher to elevate the defense... when it was very clear that our offense wasn’t the issue... but now you introduce the idea that you’re worried about the RT position so much the defense doesn’t matter that much? We’re not closing the gap with KC on offense... we’re closing the gap on defense...
  25. Well we just got Milano at about ~$10M per year. So why can’t we use what’s left over to get a pass rusher from that extensive list and sign them and draft a lineman in a pretty well regarded OL draft class? Seeing that I said LT was more valuable than LB... I’m not paying Williams about what we’re paying Dawkins... and obviously it’s not super easy to replace Milano because we were 3-3 without him and 10-0 with him this season... if they felt he was easily replaceable they would’ve replaced him...
