  1. Baseball is the only sport with with a total antitrust exemption. The NFL has the ability to collectively negotiate television deals, and this was granted to them by Washington, but its the only thing that resembles an antitrust exemption for the league. Otherwise they’re subject to antitrust laws.
  2. I guess it’s pretty noteworthy we played 4/10 teams in PD.
  3. There are so many things wrong with this post. He’s been here for 3 seasons including this year... Rick Dennison was the OC the first season under McDermott. The last 3/4 of the season only? What about weeks 1-4 when the Bills averaged over 30 PPG. and our QB coach is more valuable than Daboll? The QB coach that doesn’t call plays and doesn’t work with Josh Allen in the off-season. Got it. There are so many things wrong with this post. He’s been here for 3 seasons including this year... Rick Dennison was the OC the first season under McDermott. The last 3/4 of the season only? 4. No, the funny thing is I didn’t cherry pick any stats from any games. I separated his first 5 weeks (where he was hurt) from the remaining 9 games where he’s been healthy. That’s not cherry picked... that’s a legitimate line of demarcation. I gave you the exact stats that you gave me... I just separated them pre and post injury. If that’s cherry picked because injuries aren’t legitimate deterrents of performance then I guess I’m wrong. Yes, it’s discouraging he hasn’t improved this year... but his best stretch this year is a little different from last year seeing that the level of competition is significantly different. I guess that doesn’t matter either? I’m not arguing that he leaves impact plays on the field, I’m not arguing his stats are different than years past. I legitimately said that in my last post. I’m not invalidating your argument, a lot of it is right. I’m talking about your inability to admit that you are wrong, or at least acknowledge when you’ve provided misleading information in the context that you display it. Much like I said you would, you ignored that and tried to do that thing where you’re so much smarter than I am and you need to make me feel inferior. You are much smarter than I am, as well as 99.9% of members on this board. When you’re wrong, just acknowledge it. I’m done discussing it, you’ll never change because that’s just who you are. I have a lot of respect for your knowledge, I just have a hard time sifting through all the holier than thou stuff.
  5. Your argument isn’t wrong, I made a statement that most of his value is derived from clogging passing lanes and your initial argument centered around his pass defense stats not being good... no mention of film. Then I showed you stats and how he’s improved since his injury and instead of acknowledging that you decided to counter my film point saying that you watch film and have great seats to watch him and he doesn’t execute his assignments well and falls short from making impact plays time and time again. Then I give you a specific example of what I’m talking about and you move to him not having enough instincts, but the examples you gave were related to his run defense, which I made pretty clear early on that I don’t think his run defense is great either... but you and I were never discussing that. Nothing falls flat, you just slowly move the proverbial goal post each time further away from your initial argument to push your point of view and then puff your chest about how you’re never wrong even though you’ve ignored people proving you wrong throughout the entire conversation. I’ve brought this up numerous times when we’ve gone back and forth. You’re extremely intelligent but you never acknowledge that you’re wrong, you ignore and then find a different set of information to prove your point. Now rather than acknowledging all of this you’re going to tell me I’m dumb and how you’re superior to me. None of this is hidden... you can just go back and read all the posts that go 1 page back. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
  6. His passer rating is inflated because of a really poor first 5 weeks. 158, 153, 118, 149... an average of 127 in the first 5 weeks. Things have been much improved since then... 83.5 on average over the last 9 weeks. Y/A is down from 22 yards in the first 5 weeks to 6 over the last 9. He allowed 3 TDS in the first 5 weeks. He’s allowed 1 since then.
  7. From my understanding the value he brings is clogging up the passing lanes and forcing the QB to make an alternate decision. That’s the reason I included the “dream catcher” he has a specific profile and skill set. It’s not necessarily measured outside of watching film. In the initial stage of Edmunds’ drop into zone coverage (top right of the image), he saw wide receiver Jakobi Meyers go into his breakdown to settle into a curl route. Edmunds could easily have stayed right where he was around the 31-yard line or even tried to cover up the receiver. But when he saw Meyers settle in well short of the first-down marker, he knew to continue his drop. Edmunds’ decision to carry through with the zone as it was called was a big reason the Bills took away the Patriots’ ability to get a first down through the air. The route combination had one receiver going deep to take the cornerback and safety with him, and another receiver working to get behind the first-level of the Bills’ zone coverage, past the first-down marker and inside to make it an easier throw for the quarterback. The Patriots’ routes effectively took the cornerback and safety away from the crossing receiver, but Edmunds’ drop made him a threat to jump the second-level route. Edmunds then settled at the first-down marker at the 28-yard line. His anticipation forced Newton to settle for the shorter target.
  8. 2 guys added and 3 guys let go... does that mean we have an extra spot or was that just to free up a spot for one of the COVID/IR guys?
  9. “The lasting image of this game was that of Tremaine Edmunds getting pushed back by guard Joe Thuney for a 21-yard run by the Patriots. The game certainly wasn’t Edmunds’ best of the season because of that play and some others, but the linebacker continues to be a strength in the Bills’ zone coverage, even when he’s not making flashy pass breakups. The influence he had on a third-and-13 attempt shows how his subtle movements can help the Bills force offenses off the field.” Weird... he’s not a great run defender which I think everyone agrees on... but that’s not where his value is derived and what his role is. Good thing the average NFL team passes the ball 60% of the time. Find me another middle linebacker with his length that can fill his role on defense and then we can talk. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence the defense started playing better when Tremaine got healthy. It’s not that hard to look at this image and understand what sets Edmunds apart and what they’re utilizing his skill set for.
  10. The biggest things I’m learning from this thread is that WORDS MATTER. They have definitions for a reason and they’re used to communicate specific things. Out means he’s out for a game. Done means he’s done for the season, but that’s pretty vague... he could mean done for his career? The fact that Beasley hasn’t been ruled out this week and Reggie Gilliam has means something.
  11. 5 WR sets of Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis and Stills. Lol sounds like my Madden Franchise.
  12. Other than Cole being on here with the knee injury, this is absolutely beautiful.
  13. If you’re logical, yes, it’s not a lot. If you’re someone who believes players are robots or work like video games and never get hurt, then he’s totally frequently injured.
  14. I’ve watched Tua almost every game he’s started. His arm is fine, not bad and not good. It’s just ok... he can make most of the throws, but overall his ball lacks real zip, it looks like it take awhile to get where it’s going. They’re protecting him from making those throws for a variety of reasons, which does say something. I feel like they run the same play action pass with a TE or WR slipping out and running parallel to Tua and it goes for 3-4 yards at least 10 times every game.
  15. He’s usually pretty good. He’s going off of what he sees happen on the field... Banged Up Bills is also pretty good and he said knee contusion. The positive part is that nobody is has said it’s significant yet.
  16. Cole Beasley Leaves MNF Game Late, Should Be OK Moving Forward Cole Beasley left for the locker-room late in the fourth quarter after injuring his left foot on a route run. By video, he appeared to get his foot stuck in the turf and likely has a sprained foot but we are not expecting a significant injury. He was likely headed for precautionary x-rays and was held out due to the blowout score. From Pro Football Doc Dr. David Chao
  17. It’s a passing league... the guy is an absolute weapon in pass coverage due to his length and speed. What he brings to the table really can’t be measure effectively all the time... his length clogs up passing windows and makes the QBs job much more difficult. His run stopping ability leaves a lot to be desired, but that’s not where his value is derived. He does his job at a high level and he’s only 22 years old. You draft a LB to replace him and he’s gonna to be older than Tremaine lmao... the kid is going to be an absolute beast when he enters his prime. He’s closer to the 2019 player than he is the 2020 player and he’s still growing as a MLB... after seeing how player development works with Josh, you’d think people would just think for a minute.
  18. Josh should win AFC OPW again this week. 3x in 1 month should lock him in for his 2nd AFC OPM award this year. Based on my initial post.. it would be absolutely unprecedented if he didn’t win the MVP with 5 OPW and 2 OPM. He’s a star, but the NFL has a chance to cement him as one if the writers vote for him for MVP.
  19. I think the Toronto Raptors fans tried this or something like it with Kawhi Leonard... he went to LA lol
  20. Don’t love Nsekhe on the injury report with a groin while Williams is battling a groin. I’m guessing we would see Bates should both not be able to go?
  21. I’m getting Legend of Kiko vibes here...
