  1. I agree with you on Josh, but there’s usually a feeling that players have to get paid for other players and for future generations of players. If you can get a big deal, you take a big deal because it helps guys out later. I’m sure the NFLPA and his peers wouldn’t look too kindly at a star like Josh taking a below market deal, because there won’t be context in future negotiation and teams will just say “we’re not paying you significantly more than Allen.” Because Josh didn’t take the most he could get it lowers the bar for others.
  2. I’ve been shouting this from the rooftops for months. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just that Baker can’t win on his own. I looked a few weeks back and the Browns are something like 1-15 when Baker throws more than 35 times. Less than 35 times and they’re around .500. He doesn’t win you games on his own. I think Cleveland gives Baker a bridge deal like Watson got, there was a lot of talk that they might move on from him, but I don’t think they can do that now. He will get something like 4/160. The Ravens are committed to Lamar, he’s going to get a huge deal, probably the biggest of the 3. The Ravens have won a lot with him, he has a MVP trophy, finally got a playoff win. It’s not going to be Mahomes territory but the Ravens have to pay him, if they don’t they run the risk of insulting him and calling him a RB, without actually saying it. The only difference between him and Mahomes right now is he hasn’t won a Super Bowl. I think Buffalo gives Josh a 10 year deal, I’m just not sure where the money sits. There’s no doubt he’s the guy, and he’s the best of the 3. He will get more than Baker, but probably less than Lamar, unless he takes us to a Super Bowl this year.
  3. It's simple. McDermott read all the people on this message board saying he didn't know opposing player's names. Seeing the McDermott has a growth mindset, he's now going to list EVERY name possible when he has a chance - even his own players. This is because he heard us here and wanted to be sure to make the proper adjustment!
  4. Okay, now you’re stating stats from 2020. What is it, man? At first it had something to do with their historical success compared to the Bills historical success? Now it’s their 2020 stats? Their age has something to do with their ability to perform? You’re just throwing a whole bunch of random crap at all wall and hoping that it forms your argument. However you break it down the Colts were top 10 in all 3 phases of the game. That’s not average, average is middle of the pack. There are 32 NFL teams, if you’re in the top 10 in something, you’re above average. Words have definitions for a reason, use them properly. Average: a number expressing the central or typical value in a set of data
  5. How does this even make any sense? You’re comparing this year’s Colts team to Colts teams of the past and because they’re not one of the top 10 teams in the history of their franchise they can’t stand up against a top 5 team in Bills franchise history? That’s just bad analysis. The Colts historical success and the Bills historical success have zero impact on how these two teams match up in 2020.
  6. Kamara made someone think twice it seems. 930 rushing with 16 TD, 83/750/5 He put up #1 RB numbers and #2 WR numbers... he missed a game too.
  7. He was on the injury report because of it. Weeks 5-10 and came off the injury report after the bye in Week 12.
  8. Ben Baldwin wrote an article predicting the MVP race today. Using the same method he’s predicted the last two MVPs, Mahomes and Jackson. This year he had his final 4 as Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen and Tannehill... because QBs are inherently more valuable than any other position, as long as MVP has the word “valuable” in it, it should go to a QB. Right at the onset he said it’s only a two man race: Rodgers and Mahomes. He threw out Tannehill and Allen for different reasons. “To placate Bills and Titans fans: Josh Allen had a great season that should make Bills fans excited for the upcoming playoff run and thrilled about the future. A mid-season slump — by his standards — was enough to knock the Bills out of contention for the No. 1 seed and Allen for the MVP award. Ryan Tannehill had a great season and led the league’s second-best offense, but I don’t think he has an argument over Mahomes or Rodgers. And on Derrick Henry, don’t even think about it: The Titans gained 166 EPA on Tannehill dropbacks and 31 EPA on Henry rush attempts.” He pretty much said that Josh’s mid-season slump took him out of the race, if I’m reading that directly. I went and looked at Josh’s mid-season slump using Baldwin’s metrics to evaluate Mahomes last 4 weeks of the season, which many commented was a drop-off from his normal play. Here are the results... Allen Weeks 5-8 Plays: 166 EPA+CPOE: 0.099 EPA/PLAY: 0.156 Un Adj. EPA: .127 CPOE: -0.6 Mahomes Weeks 13-16 Plays: 193 EPA+CPOE: 0.093 EPA/PLAY: 0.165 Un Adj. EPA: 0.128 CPOE: -2.2 There is virtually no difference... Josh Allen's mid-season slump by his metrics is identical to Patrick Mahomes end of the season slump... So I take it the argument now falls to the fact that Mahomes and the Chiefs were the #1 seed, that's why he's mentioned as a finalist with Rodgers? 9. Teams have tried it since we played KC in week 6. Josh has shown he can adjust to it now.
  10. "It doesn't really bother me or flatter me all that much," Allen said in December. "I'm an extremely self-driven person. I have a lot of confidence in myself. I take ownership of the last couple years, the mishaps and miscues, and understand that I was growing and learning. But the apology letter, the form or whatever you want to call it? I guess it was cool. It was something to talk about.” I’m on record talking about this somewhere and I love Josh discussing it. He’s self-motivated which is way more sustainable and healthy than the Baker Mayfield style of having a list of every person who’s ever doubted him. Josh has his moments, like Fresno State, but the kid was hurt by that. He grew up a huge fan and they labeled him “not competitive” at their camps.
  11. Excellent point. Everyone saw Josh Allen at Wyoming and leading up to the draft. This is how they formed their opinions on Josh Allen. Then when he arrived in Buffalo they didn’t see him as much. They probably saw some “wow” throws in highlight reels, but were also privy to some lowlight reels where he missed a target pretty bad (a friend of mine who trashes Josh Allen every time he gets sent me one of these videos from Week 1 just recently when Josh overthrew Brown in the EZ as his sole proof that “Josh is bad”). Overall folks saw his Wyoming numbers and some highlights to form their initial opinion. Then they saw some Bills highlights and his numbers weren’t really much different and said “see I told you so.” Instead of watching him actually progress week to week like we have because we’re fans of the team. Mostly everyone outside of Buffalo formed their opinion, closed their eyes for 3 years, opened their eyes and now are taken aback. Whereas I watched him every week, saw the incremental improvement and I’m not as shocked. Don’t get me wrong, he took like 3 years worth of leaps from last season to this season, but I’m not necessarily shocked.
  12. Are you sure? I am almost positive Merriam-Webster updated the definition of class to exactly what you laid out above!
  13. Yeah they came out today and said Gettleman is safe. With Rivera in DC now, it gives us competition for former Panthers... so sad. I don’t think SF would do that, unless DEN wants to mortgage their future. Lynch and Shannahan have really done a great job there.
  14. I think it’s Bienemy’s job, I think Watson is going to have a lot of say as to who the HC is.
  15. 5 GM spots left open. JAX, ATL, DET, CAR, DEN (Maybe WSH) Most worried about losing Schoen this year to CAR. I think Hurney either ends up the GM in WSH or here in Buffalo under Beane. ATL seems to really want Terry Fontenot. CAR I think will hire Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. Rhule seems to be in charge there and Adofo-Mensah has a strong analytics background which they’re covering. Detroit is a wild card. Jacksonville depends on Urban Meyer IMO. Denver will be someone who feels comfortable with Elway.
  16. We tried to sign Juszcyzk in 2017 but he chose SF and we signed DiMarco instead. I wouldn’t be shocked if we targeted him again. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.buffalorumblings.com/platform/amp/buffalo-bills-nfl-free-agency-2017/2017/3/8/14854070/buffalo-bills-baltimore-ravens-fb-kyle-juszczyk-2017-nfl-free-agency
  17. The thing is they’re not being careful. I know it for a fact. A friend of mine is related to a Browns player and another lives in Cleveland... he said his friends saw Baker and Kareem out at the bar with a few teammates after they clinched a playoff spot. I asked him why nobody snapped a photo and they said “we wouldn’t do that to our own.” I then said, “Well how do you know your friends aren’t lying?” To which he replied “Well Baker’s wife posted a photo of them there, but you can’t tell where they are unless you know the bar.” Here’s the link... https://www.instagram.com/p/CJomL2YFHLs/?hl=en
  18. Right, this is awesome and I did see this. I believe in player development probably more than anyone on this board... so I’m not saying he isn’t and can’t be a contributor as a high volume WR, I just think we actually lose an element of our offense with him thrust into a larger role right now. There’s no doubt he’s developed, he seems to catch almost everything... and has made some impressive grabs over the middle in his limited time over the past 3 years and you’re right he can probably provide more than Stills... I just think Stills provides something else on top of Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis and McKenzie for the Colts (and others) to worry about. Whatever the decision is I support it and if I’m wrong, I’m ok with being wrong. I don’t think the difference in this game or any is going to be the role that McKenzie/Stills play, I just think both of them being active is good for us. It really boils down to Stills > Kroft now that I think about it more.
  19. Well Dobbins was off the board 31 picks before Moss was taken. It’s not like they chose Moss over Dobbins at 86.
  20. I agree that he stated his case to be used in more volume, I wouldn’t hate if he was. I understand your point, no offense taken. With that being said, they’re all capable of playing each WR position so to speak, I don’t think it would be a crazy stretch, but I may be getting ahead of myself with Stills and I’ll give you that. I love McKenzie but I view him as a gadget guy personally, even when we were hurting for WR he wasn’t a heavily involved piece of the offense, that may be manipulating my feelings. I also forgot to include Gabe. I guess what I was trying to say was that Stills would slot into the top 4 WR allowing McKenzie to play in his gadget role as the 5th guy. I don’t think this situation and Duke last year are comparable, but I get your point. Ultimately I think having Stills active is just something else for the defense to think about, maybe just signing him does that in itself during the week, but if we don’t use our TE often, I’d rather activate Stills than Kroft (in the event Gilliam is still out, then I think Gilliam is active for ST purposes and everything is a moot point).
  21. There were a few articles written that specifically used the word blueprint, I’m guessing that’s where it’s coming from. They held Baltimore to their lowest total yards all year and Lamar had his worst rushing performance of the season. Ironically it was an uncharacteristic blown coverage against Hayden Hurst that probably cost them the game.
  22. He’s paraphrasing what the Titans defenders said after they beat Baltimore. Titans players came out and said Buffalo gave them the blueprint to beat the Ravens. It’s not a moral victory, it’s directly from the team’s mouth. EDIT: “We wanted to give him loaded boxes all night to get him out of the game. We were either playing a loaded box and man to man and make him beat us throwing the ball outside mano-a-mano, or we were going to play a quarters defense similar to what Buffalo did. And Buffalo played them well. Buffalo just didn’t score a lot of points on offense.“ - Logan Ryan
  23. As someone who prides myself on watching every ounce of Josh Allen content, I have never actually seen this before, so thank you. What’s amazing listening to him speak there, is that’s exactly what I imagine him saying when he hoists a Lombardi trophy and Super Bowl MVP. I actually told this to @Hapless Bills Fanin a PM a few weeks back without ever seeing this video. Basically what he said here, about it being for/because of everyone else is what I imagine him saying when he wins it all for Buffalo. I try not to drool over pro athletes, but Josh is special man.
  24. I think he could probably play over McKenzie. McKenzie seems to be a guy they don’t want to give a lot of volume to under normal circumstances. I may be wrong. If Beasley doesn’t play I think Stills takes over for Brown, Diggs for Beasley and Brown for Diggs. If Beasley does play, I think we only actively 2 TE (Knox and Smith) and use a PS call up for Stills. We’d have Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis and Stills in 5 WR sets as well as McKenzie to come in for any of those guys and threaten a gadget play.
