  1. Lol yeah that's the point. I am just trying to beat the usual suspects to the dead horse they're going to beat. I do not believe that's what is going on at all.
  2. That selfish Stefon Diggs is starting rear his ugly head... Expect a hold out for a $200M contract soon. 😁
  3. I believe the terminology Brandon Beane uses is it’s a “people driven business.”
  4. You have to get it right immediately? They post you commented on says “They seemed to have hired a tremendous supporting cast.” Nobody said that he “hired a tremendous supporting cast from the get go.” He also dumped some of the scouts… not all of the scouts. Likely the ones who didn’t seem fully bought in to the new regime change. It’s common… you have people that push back because it’s not what they’re used to or they think they’re a goner so they become difficult to work with. Without buy-in and people pulling towards a common goal your screwed… McDermott held on to plenty of people in the organization… a majority of those were probably those who showed they were bought in. Please take it from someone who works in professional sports and has endured a regime change. I’ve watched this all unfold over the last year and a half where I am. Perfectly good coaches and staff, some of my very good friends were let go because THEY were being difficult and making things harder on the new group who came in. That’s on them… not the people in charge.
  5. I mean I wouldn't say statistics are garbage... fans want super specific information that takes everything into account. That's not what statisticians do in sports... they try and see what happens over the course of time to help make better decisions in those situations. They take the names out of it and just focus on what's most likely to happen. Statistics can't be as the sole source of information to make your decisions. It should be a conglomerate of things that you weigh to make an informed decision - including statistics. A good decision maker understands what the numbers are telling them, factors in the game, their players, etc. and makes an informed decision. I.e. (The numbers are completely fabricated to illustrate my point) The numbers say that 4th and 7 from your own 47 is converted 70% of the time when you run the ball. McDermott gets that info and goes "ok, it's a high percentage play AND we have one of the most dangerous running QBs in the league AND we've been gashing these guys all day with designed QB runs" BUT OH WAIT the ATC just came over and told McDermott that Josh Allen has a high ankle sprain, it won't affect him in the pocket but it may inhibit his ability to run. So now he weighs all of that and makes a decision... Statistics aren't garbage... it's how the statistics are used that can be garbage.
  6. Would have been quite interesting to see what would have happened had the refs seen Jones punch Feliciano...
  7. This is a complete and total guess.... Davis Webb? He was the run organizing and running things last year, right?
  8. “People were kind of, I’m not going to say peeing on me and telling me that it’s raining, that’s a little bit harsh. But once you don’t have trust with the person. It’s hard to do business.”
  9. What I don’t understand is Diggs has made it clear he loved the city of Minnesota... he just didn’t love the way he was treated by the coaching staff and front office. The guy is taking it like it was a Diggs throwing shade at the city... when he left he said he loved the city and the fans... he didn’t love the way he was treated by the organization.
  10. This is also great in theory until they don't use cap space and then you accuse them of mishandling the cap by not spending it in an attempt to be competitive.
  11. Big reach.... how do you know they’re not in a worse position if they don’t take that dead cap hit? They likely are... you would have guys like Cordy Glenn and Dareus just coming off the books this season... or a dead cap hit for cutting them...
  12. I legitimately do not follow the logic at all as it pertains to dead cap in 2018. Everything else is sound. I’m not disputing it was a choice... your typical argument around the dead cap is that they chose to do that rather than try and be competitive... never argued that. What you tried to tell us earlier is that somehow biting the bullet in 2018 by incurring significant dead cap for 1 season in order to avoid having significant expenditures in future seasons actually KEPT the Bills from being able to spend money this off-season? How does dead money... only on the books for 2018 (rather than keeping those contracts rolling in future seasons) hurt them in 2021? The free agent stuff is separate... you’re weirdly blending the two...
  13. How does biting the bullet for 1 year in 2018 to free up money in future seasons put the Bills in a worse cap situation in future seasons? I’m not sure what you just wrote...
  14. Beane isn't good with the cap? That's news to me... he's been one of the better spenders per production in the entire NFL since 2017.... When you're trying to fill holes through free agency early on you're going to often overspend relative to the talent available. Now we're starting to get to the point where we are retaining our own and paying them accordingly... what's the issue? You can't pay your own guys until A) You have your own guys and B) They're eligible to be paid.
  15. I really don't think Edmunds was every really the question anyone made it out to be. Josh's extension will be done before the end of June.
  16. This is a convenient reframing of the truth... the fumble occurred in the first half of the game and the Mahomes missed part of the 3rd Q and all of the 4th. Don’t make it sound so close 😂
  17. Might be true... how many points did we drop on those DB last year? We scored 87 points against Miami last year... 62 against New England. What changes have they made in the secondary that I’m supposed to be afraid of?
  18. Really shocking to me all 32 teams are passing on these star CBs 2-3 times in one draft...
  19. To assume a 3rd round pick is an immediate upgrade is, well, hubris.
  20. Oh you mean the UDFA that’s been an effective starting CB2 on a playoff team two years in a row?
  21. Etienne is a great talent. That being said I would be upset if we took him at #30. Which means I’d be even more upset if we traded up to take him. With THAT being said, I’m also not going to behave like the sky is falling if we take him or trade up to take him.
  22. Hey guys... I could really use some help.. I remember maybe a month or so ago Brandon Beane saying something along the lines of “ I know most GMs don’t like to build relationships, but I that’s not how I approach things. I like to build relationships and stay true to myself” I’m paraphrasing... my recalling of the quote might be way off... but that’s the spirit of that statement. I would love if someone could link that actually quote for me because I can’t find it... Thank you in advance!
  23. This won’t be worked into his contract. I promise you that. Interesting thought though.
