  1. Well in that case… pot, meet kettle.
  2. Yeah, I think everyone agrees with that. The rest of the picture requires context and knowledge. What most don’t want to agree with is your gut feeling carrying any significance. If you were breaking down film or bringing relevant facts to the table, I think this would be a different conversation. Unfortunately, it’s been a lot of “I think” and “I feel” with very little substance.
  3. Stop with the facts. Opinions only!!
  4. This just doesn't track. All they've told us this whole time is that he's got the physical tools and needs to get more comfortable with the scheme. It's been the same message from day 1 with Elam. They didn't go into "panic mode." They had one player left on their board that had a RD1 grade - Kaiir Elam. That's not panic mode... he wouldn't have been on the board if they didn't feel like he was worthy of the selection.
  5. The older I get, the more disgusted I am by people.
  6. I’m not debating you on the desire for him to run less. I’ve been consistent with that in every post. He’s not a running QB in the sense that all of the other guys you listed are. Nobody has put up passing seasons like Josh. I’m going to stop trying to explain to you. Others seem to understand my message pretty clearly and you’ve yet to acknowledge anything outside of a point that I’ve agreed with you on since the start. Go Bills.
  7. That's not my point. You've labeled Josh Allen as a "running QB." You're trying to make the case that if he doesn't stop running, he's going to break down and fall off the face of the earth like the "running QBs" before him. I'm saying that Josh isn't a "running QB" like 17 guys you listed. Josh Allen, while currently one of the best "running QB' in the history of the NFL, is also one of the elite passers in the league. The elite passer part is something that none of the others had. That's the difference between Josh Allen and the rest of the names you listed... he's already shown to be significantly better than them at throwing the football. I agreed in my original post that he needs to limit the amount of hard contact he subjects himself to - I think everyone is in agreement on that point. What I'm disagreeing with is your comparison to other "running QBs" and it is because those guys aren't Josh Allen. They never stacked elite seasons as passers, which is why so many careers fizzled out when their legs were no longer an effective option. This isn't a video game - there are repercussions for your actions. Shohei Ohtani is a human being. Other players pay attention to how you treat guys. If you treat Ohtani like an object and "use him up" there is going to be zero trust for you/your organization league wide. You're asking coaches to risk their relationships and reputation You're asking a front office to turn a blind eye You're putting athletes long term health at risk As I've stated, Josh Allen should limit that amount of contact he subjects himself to. I feel the same way with Shohei Ohtani theoretically increasing his workload on the mount. If you want to use Shohei as a comparison for Josh, I'll use this one: Ohtani is a dual threat much like Allen. He's valuable on the mound and at the plate, similar to how Josh is valuable with his legs and with his arm. If you take away Ohtani's ability to pitch, he's still going to be one of the most feared hitters on the planet. If you take away Allen's ability to run, he's still going to be one of the most feared passers on the planet. Comparing Josh Allen to other "running QBs" is like comparing Shohei Ohtani to other two-way players such as Brendan McKay, Michael Lorenzen and Jared Walsh.
  8. I remember not all that long ago when Dantzler was going to start over Elam and force our hand in trading him. Life comes at you fast in the NFL!
  9. Out of the 17 guys you listed, there are 13 instances of guys throwing for more than 4,000 yards. 3 of them are Josh Allen in 5 seasons. In the top 10 rush Y/G the only guy outside of Josh to have a 4,000 yard passing season was Cam Newton… he had ONE 4,000 yard passing season his rookie year. There are 15 instances of guys throwing for 30 TDs. 3 of them are Josh Allen. In the top 10 rush Y/G there are only two players outside of Josh to throw for 30 TD in a season. Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton. Russell Wilson has the most 4,000 yard/30 TD seasons. He has four 4,000 yard seasons and five 30 TD seasons… it took him 8 years to accomplish that. Josh has 3 of each through 5 years. Does Josh need to protect himself a little better when he runs? I think so. Does he need to avoid contact a little more often than he has in the past? Yes. What Josh doesn’t need to do is transition from being a “running QB” to a pocket passer, because he isn’t a “running QB”, he’s the “great exception.”
  10. When? Sure. If? God you’re insufferable.
  11. So if Brown isn’t a cone this year, which he’s shown the ability to do in the past, we’re possibly a top-10 unit as opposed to bottom 10? Beane still didn’t do enough.
  12. They liked him coming out of college… he went higher than they expected.
  13. Best O-Line in the AFC East to go along with the best QB.
  14. @Airseven I know your schtick here is being a negative person, but really, an eye roll?
  15. Except for this year where their two biggest FA signings were an OG/WR and their first two draft picks were TE/OG.
  16. Thad Brown was announcing at an award ceremony for one of my siblings. He said their name wrong despite asking how to say it properly beforehand. That’s my lasting memory of his ability to do his job.
  17. Oh, Einstein. Please don’t make me continue to push back on your agenda. It’s as sound as the OceanGate submersible.
  18. This is a fun exercise! Who would your top 10 be?
  19. They’re a top 5 combination in the league. Not one GM or HC is without flaws. It’s just fatigue from the fan base - happens everywhere. Grass is always greener or something like that.
  20. They moved up to take a cornerback... they didn't know whether we were taking McDuffie or not. Kansas City knew we wanted a cornerback and per @GunnerBillcomment earlier from The Athletic article had McDuffie and Elam left as round one talent. They wanted to jump and make sure they got one before the Bills (or any other team) could move up and take one. Beane said that was part of his reason for moving up, other teams may have wanted to jump up and grab a cornerback and knew we may want one. You asked the question earlier why Buffalo would bring McDuffie in for a pre-draft visit if he didn't fit their "physical profile." Scenarios like this are exactly why... you make teams guess who you're truly interested in or not.
  21. Terrance Gray could be worried because they were down to the last first round grade on their board... not because they took McDuffie. The nervousness could be tied to the need to move up to secure their last first-round talent... not who Kansas City selected. They were sitting there at 25 thinking that if McDuffie or Elam keep falling, they can stand pat and get either one, or have a smaller trade up if neither goes until 22 or 23. You're hyper-fixated on who was selected and not all of the other factors that play into the situation. Again, it seems to be purposefully negligent.
  22. The Buffalo Bills did not say that Kaiir Elam was their "lowest graded first round talent" they said he was their "last first round grade of the remaining players." “We had a good grade on Kaiir and we were down to one player in the first round on our board,” Beane said. It's entirely plausible that both had first round grade, the Bills had Elam rated higher than McDuffie, and they traded up to secure the final first round talent available on their board. Your interpretation of this situation seems to be purposefully negligent.
  23. On his Madden franchise mode IRRC.
  24. I'd bet you tons of money that even if it's not in his job description, it's the most important part of his job (it's also definitely in his job description) It's not a secret that winning is highly reliant on dealing with managing various people and personalities. Talk to any coach - they're not focused on the X's and O's... that's not what the players care about the most.
