The day before the season opener two years ago (alumni weekend), I ran into Cornelius Bennett at a bookstore in the Atlanta airport. Turns out he was on his way to the opener also. He was very nice and smiled as I explained to my son what an incredible player he was.

Born in South Buffalo and it goes back as far as I can recall. Had cousins in Hamburg and as a 5-6 year old I recall being intrigued that they lived in the shadow of the stadium. My first game was Bills-Colts, Fergy vs. Bert Jones in 1977, a freezing November day. Even though they lost, I was permanently hooked.

Listen to Pettine's interview on bb.com. It sounds very similar to me. Pettine even says something to the effect that "we will not help the other team up". When was the last time we saw a Bills D that was like that?

Great choice. His FG % with us really is exceptional. I think part of what hurts his perception is, he was acquired under Donahoe and people hold that against him.

Going into last season I had high hopes for Fitz. Didn't a lot if us? Obviously I was proven wrong but as I look back over the years I realize I end up seeing every Bills QB through rose colored glasses. I have to admit, I'm a sucker for Bills QBs. I thought Losman and Edwards would pan out long after most here had given up. The old jerseys in my closet (Losman, Edwards, now Fitz) are a sad reminder of our string of ineptitude. This year I wised up and went with a jersey that can't let me down - an old school Jack Kemp throwback! Happy Father's Day everyone.
