It was Bruce Smith’s birthday yesterday. Apparently, he was late to his party because he was driving and on the way there fell asleep at a red light.

Pitch clock is a reason baseball is at the forefront for me again. Just hope the looming ABS doesn’t muck it up. Baseball was 1st as the sport we played collectively growing up and being in Yankees country made it all the more appealing. I could watch the worst MLB teams play, unlike football. First off half standing around is as American as apple pie as evidenced by the crews of public workers on any job site. Secondly, can your kid senselessly chew and spit sunflower shells in these other sports? Apparently, it’s quite the stress reliever from the pressures of…..having to stand around? 🤷‍♂️ Took me a bit to get use to it, thought the better teams would be the bigger beneficiaries but that’s not the case. It’s pretty much a 50/50 split between home and visitors.

I’m back to loving baseball. The guy I’m watching bat right now is a big reason…..I’ve come to accept that he’s now a Dodger.

It’s a great area. They take care of their own there. My kid got a nice place in part because he’s Polish and says it’s still as nice there as when he left a few years ago. All due respect to Buffalo Polish, the tradition, heritage and culture is incomparable. The immensity of the neighborhood with so many Polish people with store signs, restaurant menus and newspapers in Polish kind of blew me away.

HFD! My 87 y.o. Father is coming over. A full day of hearing how tough it is for him. I mean I get it. He can only ride his bike for 7 miles. He can only walk 3 miles a day. He recently started to wake up at night to pee. He doesn’t wear glasses, hears fine and just dug out a 100 ft. hedgerow, clears and snow blows his 130 ft. driveway, cleans his 1600 sq. ft. house, it’s pretty much spotless. New car every 3 years, drives everywhere. Doesn’t bemoan being alone. …..and tell him he’s fortunate? I don’t dare. (just to add, my brother, sister and myself are definitely fortunate)
