  1. He was somehow related to my 1st wife, they’d talk occasionally about him being in NYC. Never heard or saw him. Someone I did hear and see because of her was Buffalo’s Vegas boys, the Scinta Bros. Her cousin hired them for his summer luau’s before they got steady work in Sin City for quite awhile.
  2. That it might get you(anyone) to comment in a Yankees thread. It’s dead in here. Was half watching the O’s game with the A’s announcers, they whined about Bleday thrown out at home. Did I miss something? He looked out to me.
  3. Watched the movie. Found Page and Plant to be a bit full of themselves and a little tedious to listen to. …..because they were ***** awesome and know it! Loved the movie! Realized I’m still a ZepHead at ❤️.
  4. About 40 years ago Willie Nile was seen as someone who might hit the big time. He was popular in the business.
  5. I served/waited on them for a dinner to celebrate their 1st record signing contract with local record producer (Lenny Silver) around '78-'79.
  6. Ha…! Just put it on. Not available on ad supported plan due to licensing restrictions. I upgraded to the Ultra plan for a month to watch it, but another of a growing litany of streaming service cons. ……but, at least I can watch “Barbie” again in Ultra. There’s a difference.
  7. Ahhhh…..My Eyes!! My Eyes!!! I just checked their show on YT. They show their actual faces during the broadcast! That’s not radio. When did this start?
  8. Since it’s a meme free thread, I’ll just have to say it…. Sir, I like the cut of your jib!
  9. If I could have picked a player…..whew! Florida losing would have been a gut punch. Now I’m hooked.
  10. Orioles! I should of figured. 🙃
  11. Amen to that. Throw in Ted Washington and it was on.
  12. Wow! Never saw that. That was a shot, but could have been worse. I mean a roundhouse kick to the face with spikes….
  13. Thanks. Really appreciate the input. My wife thinks a tour be fine. I see the plus of the perks you point out, the must sees are probably brutal without pre-planning no matter when you go. I don’t like being held to a schedule, or told how I have to go about my days on vacation, but when in Rome…. My bigger problem is this is a one and done trip, I want to see Naples and the Amalfi Coast. My wife would be happy with the Big Three, which would be less demanding.
  14. Thank you, much appeciated. It's the kind of encouragement I need to hear. I admit there's apprehension on my part as I more than likely would be arranging most everything myself. I have an aversion to staying in hotels, almost always rent places with added conveniences (separate beds/bedrooms too, hey I admit it, want it to be just like at home). But wanting that staying 3-4 nights and hopscotching around for at least 2 weeks seems daunting, and adds to my excuses for not going. ....see you caught me again in a rephrase. Oh, and to bring it back to the op’s posit of thankfulness in 2025, I couldn’t have imagined seriously being able to do something like this not so long ago.
  15. Shane Nelson. I drank with him more than a few times. He started to hang out a bit at a restaurant/bar I worked at. His wife was hired as a waitress there shortly after. The other waitresses weren't very receptive to her, so I looked out for her. He appreciated it and hence.... Thought he was pretty good football player too.
  16. Wow! Wanna take a look at my portfolio?
  17. Errrr!!! You’re not helping my case…..but, as a dutiful husband I shall apprise her of this Google thing.
  18. My wife’s been wanting to go Italy. Apprehensive of being a stranger in a strange land because of a language barrier, I was able to instead sway her to go to London last year. Upon getting home, actually on the plane home, she starts up with the Italy thing. I told her to learn Italian because I do not want any part of a tour group vacation and want to do and see more than the Florence, Venice, Rome package seemingly commonly offered. She’s been studying like crazy, drops hints of her progress almost daily. So…..???
  19. I am at peace with and have accepted Amazon Prime as a way of life.
  20. That I finally now know how to score a single point in football, thought I’d find the answer of another mystery that’s escaped me for too long. You must show your work in long division. (anyone remember that teacher rule?)
  21. Two trains are driving toward one another. The first train leaves Town A at 5am traveling at 60 miles per hour. The second train leaves Town B at 7am traveling at 70 miles per hour. the distance between Town A and Town B is 455 miles. What is the EXACT time that the collision will occur?
  22. Is “shlong” a derivative of short and long or a slurred “so long”?
  23. Forgot to set the DVR for tonight, so I didn’t see it, but read that Carlisle subbed out all five on the floor when they were down 15 in the 4th and went on a 15-4 run. Pacers spread it all around well, but that move is all the more impressive considering the foe and the moment.
