Idk about the Shaq and Flowers contracts, but Byron Jones is a stud.

Interesting. Curious to see who we sign now. -
Joe Banner - Big trade incoming D. Bucker to Indy for #13
DCOrange replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I mean, it's undeniable that Baltimore will be a tough out. They and the Chiefs should probably be the favorites to win the Super Bowl. I like the makeup of Indy's team a lot assuming they address the WR position at some point in free agency and or the draft. I suspect they'll be better than us too. We'll see as we go. New England might take a step back. Houston seems very likely to take a step back. There's no reason we shouldn't be in the playoff race again next season, and I say that as what I would describe as a very cautious optimistic. -

If you believe the reports, they simply plan on using a lot of two tight end sets next year. -

Baltimore is obviously crazy stacked but they were already one of the main contenders for next year. Colts should be in the race for sure but Houston should also take a step back so arguably 1 in 1 out. Who are all the other AFC contending teams that are getting better with Pro Bowl caliber players today? Cleveland getting a solid TE? I might have missed a few moves? -

Hopkins = a 2nd round pick Rams = want to trade Gurley for a 2nd round pick Therefore, Gurley for a WR roughly the caliber of Hopkins AKA Michael Thomas. ...this is all sarcasm if it wasn't clear from my first reply -

Based on today's history, I would think Gurley for Michael Thomas straight up maybe. -

The Trepasso and Banner tweets aren't necessarily connected, but if they are, could be. The Trepasso one seems more likely to just be one of the guys that got tagged IMO. -

*puts on detective hat* Alright guys, let's piece this together. What we know so far: "a top player" - I'm going to say this is one of the highest paid guys at his position "not on the trade radar" From Allbright, it's probably a WR. Highest paid WRs: AJ Green - He's on the trade radar. Mike Evans TY Hilton - Doubt they bring in Rivers to throw to a group of all nobodies. Odell Beckham - Allbright said it's not him. Sammy Watkins - Not a top player and also on the trade radar. Jarvis Landry - Allbright said it's not him. Davante Adams - They aren't getting rid of Rodgers' only good weapon. Julio Jones Larry Fitzgerald - Not a top player and I doubt Arizona would do that to him now. Tyrell Williams - Not a top player. Michael Thomas - They wouldn't do this to Brees. Allen Robinson Stefon Diggs - On the trade radar already. Keenan Allen So we're left with, IMO, Evans, Julio, A-Rob, and Allen as possibilities. My guess: Keenan Allen or Julio Jones. -

I cannot imagine this is what Banner/Glazer are referring to. He's not a top player and the compensation isn't more than the Hopkins deal. If you're a believer in the Julio trade idea though, Atlanta obviously could recoup some picks after this trade. -
I can't help but wonder if this trade falls through. It just doesn't make any sense at all and O'Brien is going to get dragged for two days before it becomes official and I would imagine numerous teams are talking to him about offering more.
-
I don't think there's any reason to believe O'Brien was looking at the trade in a rational state of mind so there's no reason to assume offering more than Arizona did would have gotten the deal done.
-
This is why people are down on BOB @Mark80
-
I cannot believe how bad this deal is. I thought it would be the #8 pick and multiple other picks. They didn't even get a 1st rounder...what the hell?

They gotta be getting the #8 pick and then some. Holy hell what is Houston doing. -

Eh. 300 carries that year and he's statistically been like the worst runner in the league the past 3 years. I think Duke is a more talented runner and receiver. -

I get that but Duke and David are both primarily receiving backs. I would like to think this is mostly about the pick/s that Houston is also acquiring (I would hope). -

Definitely curious to see what else Houston gets. Johnson doesn't really make sense there with Duke already on the team. -

Flowers was quietly pretty good last year. $10 mil per year would still scare me though. -

Don't think he'd really be a Lorax alternative as he's not really a pass rusher in any way, but he can move around the defense a bit. -

I definitely don't agree with the idea that the NFL shouldn't be doing this because it "feels wrong with what's going on right now". The only reason I would care is if teams/players simply wanted to wait until things calm down in order to fly people in, do physicals, tour facilities, etc. If they think they can operate just fine as is, I see no reason the NFL should push things back. -
Rams in talks with 3 teams to trade Brandin Cooks

I'd rather get Cooper too, but I don't think that's a possibility. Cooks is if we want it to be. -

Probably subject to change depending on what the Rams do. It's one of those contracts where there's a substantial dead cap amount for the Rams if they trade him. But as of right now, cap hits of 16.8, 16.8, 17.8, and 17.4 million left. -

It's definitely a risk, but that's why it won't be a first round pick and why it becomes potentially a risk worth taking. I'd be fine taking the chance with a 2nd round pick personally but I understand if others wouldn't go for it.
