I would be very shocked. Even if Mahomes gets hurt, I think KC likely beats Pittsburgh with Henne at QB.

Just sort of spit-balling here and thinking about the worst QB rooms in the league right now/this offseason: Cleveland - Highly doubtful Pittsburgh - Won't rule it out, but my guess would be that they'll pursue an established starter Houston - Probably just roll with Davis Mills next year Denver - Same deal as Pittsburgh Giants - Don't really see the point in moving on from Jones to Trubisky Washington - More possible now after Heinicke's late season collapse. Would be sad but not entirely surprising for them if their inaugural season with a new brand is anchored by Trubisky as their starting QB. Carolina - No clue what they might do after they tried to make win-now moves this year and completely collapsed New Orleans - Would make at least some sense All in all, there's maybe 5 situations that at least kinda make sense and a couple of them may just go for a rookie instead. He might be able to go somewhere and keep the seat warm for a rookie like Tyrod has done the last few years, but not sure if he'd rather go for that vs. sitting behind Allen with a good situation if anything goes wrong for Allen.
-
The argument re: spending money to ensure you have a good backup isn't so you can win a Super Bowl with that backup leading the way. It's to keep us a float if Allen misses a few games so that it hopefully wouldn't sink our playoff hopes. Having said that, I think we're pretty much at the point where we have to start cutting costs somewhere and I'd rather do it at backup QB than a lot of other starting positions.

Devil's advocate is that a big reason Wilson took all of those sacks is because that's who Zach Wilson is. He just refuses to take the easy throws. Cover1 was pointing out how often he had open guys underneath but just preferred to run around in circles instead of getting the ball out.
-
The Bills analyst guys like Cover1 are saying people act like Edmunds will set the market at LB when in reality, he'll probably be valued like Deion Jones, Zach Cunningham, and Myles Jack. They all got just under $15 million per year and considering they all signed a few years ago, it wouldn't be surprising to see him exceed $15 million per.

The people crapping on the Colt McCoy idea seem to have no idea how bad most backup QBs are. He's probably one of the better backups in the league. I would personally prefer to cheap out on the backup QB with a rookie, but if we have to sign a vet (and can't just bring Trubisky back), I'd probably be targeting Mariota, McCoy, or hope that the market craters on someone like Jameis or Bridgewater.

He absolutely did not have to say anything about it. Certainly didn't have to say he hopes he never leaves Michigan. If he wanted Harbaugh, he could have just said something along the lines of "Harbaugh's a great coach, but we're going to have a legitimate search here."
-
I do think Pederson will likely be one of their targets. We'll see with Harbaugh; seems like it's essentially just Dolphins fans trying to make sense of the firing while the actual reporters say there's nothing to it. Reality is he was fired because nobody wanted to work with him. Dolphins owner also just put out a statement saying he hopes Harbaugh stays at Michigan.
-
Of course they do. They're trying to convince themselves that an arguably better coach is lined up. Jeff Darlington already reported that Miami is not targeting Harbaugh. Miami didn't fire Flores because they have a good coach lined up. They fired him because they don't like him.
-
It's already been reported that Flores was pushing hard for Watson and that he and Tua had a bad relationship. He never wanted Tua. Doesn't necessarily mean Miami won't still pursue Watson; but all indications are that he was absolutely not on Tua's side.
-
Yeah. Seems like he's a pretty good coach, but it's tough to survive when you have a bad relationship with the owner, the GM, the QB, and other important players. He'll get another opportunity quickly and is a good enough coach for that to pay off for the new team but I'm not surprised Miami is moving on.
-
I was wondering if he might get the can. Relatively disappointing season for them and there had been buzz dating back to last year now about him not getting along with the front office or Tua. I'm sure he'll land on his feet pretty quickly but just shows that there's more to being a coach than just being a good coach.

What an incredible way to end the regular season (I say before the refs inevitably decide who wins in OT)
-
That was a laughably bad spot.
-
I think there's a chance but they'll likely be aiming for a bigger name like Jim Harbaugh. Making the playoffs after the year they've had would be really impressive though.
-
I'm hoping for the same because I just think Pittsburgh is a miserable team to watch. At least with Vegas there's some fun in watching a new team in the postseason, Waller, and Renfrow. Pittsburgh is just a bad and boring team. There's no way that will happen, but if the game gets late in OT I wouldn't be surprised at all if they get conservative and hope for a tie. I'm sure Vegas would much rather play Cinci than Kansas City though.
-
I have our game and that game both on while I fold laundry. Miami just took a 24-10 lead.
-
We're better than all of the teams we're discussing here, but the Chargers offense is capable of outscoring us if Herbert is on his A game.
-
Pats win = we get winner of LA/LV (and LA if they tie) Pats lose = we get NE/LA (LA if LA wins, NE if LV wins)
-
We get Chargers if they tie according to ESPN

Broncos are in the market for a new head coach
DCOrange replied to Pokebball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some teams are going to be interested in defensive-minded coaches, and some will be interested in more experienced coaches, and he checks both of those boxes in a way that most of the available options do not. As a DC, his defenses have been elite everywhere, including Dallas this year where they went from one of the worst defenses in the league the year before to arguably being a top 5 unit this season. As a head coach, he has a winning record overall, including the Super Bowl runner up (with Shanahan at his side as you noted). After Shanahan left, Atlanta still managed to go 10-6 the following season, followed up by a couple 7-9 years before he was ultimately fired. I don't really think those Falcon teams were exceptionally talented either. I think Quinn's teams probably overachieved overall during his time there. And on top of that, players and front office types both just like him as a person. It makes sense to me that he would be one of the top retread options out there this offseason.
