  1. As much as everyone likes to act like Lamar is negotiating the contract himself and won't have any help, this is not what athletes do when they're going into these things without an agent. They just hire a lawyer to make sure they don't do anything stupid instead of having a full-time agent taking a significant amount of their money.
  2. Seems to be some buzz that we may have been written off re: our chances with Judah Mintz a little too quickly. Still seems to be a DePaul lean, but if we end up stealing him away, he'd become by far our most promising incoming recruit IMO. He was an absolute stud in the NIBC league where Chris Bunch was mostly terrible.
  3. Honestly curious to see what the analytics end up suggesting here, both in terms of taking the ball vs. deferring and also whether or not to go for 2 if you defer and have to match a touchdown and extra point. My initial feeling was that I'd want the ball because I'd rather be the team that starts with it when it gets to sudden death. But I definitely see the logic in deferring since by starting with the ball, you don't know if 3 points or even 7 points is enough to win the game or at least get you to the sudden death. Edit: catching up now and it looks like the analytics suggest deferring is the better choice as people assume the 2nd team will not be willing to settle for tying the game and therefore, the 3rd possession won’t come into play very often.
  4. Some things are starting to crystallize a bit from the sound of it. Don't know too many specifics, but one person I trust is saying they've heard that in addition to losing the two Boeheims and Sidibe, we're expecting at least 3 more players to leave this offseason. He said two of those three don't really matter (my unknowledgeable guess would be Jon Bol Ajak and Chaz Owens but not sure) but that the third assumed departure is going to hurt. He specifically said he's not sure what Cole plans to do yet, so to me, it seems like the third departure is almost certainly Frank Ansalem or Benny Williams (my unknowledgeable guess would be Frank). He also added that we're expecting to add 2 or 3 players in the transfer portal depending on what one of our important players does (my guess would be if Cole leaves, we try to bring in 3 and if Cole stays we stick to 2). He said we're pretty likely to add one player in the portal that he does not like (my guess would be Quincy Ballard to replace Frank). So if my assumptions are all correct (and let's assume Cole stays because I don't want to picture our team without him), we're looking at a roster next year of: Symir JGIII Cole Benny Jesse Taylor Bunch Brown Quadir Ballard Carey Transfer #2 Unused Scholarship #1
  5. I can’t explain the size of the stadium outside of the fact that the current stadium is just very small in terms of space. As for capacity, the belief is that sports are trending more to being a TV experience and therefore don’t require as many seats.
  6. The article says it’ll be starting at $1000 per at minimum.
  7. This is a really interesting way to put it and I think it's almost certainly correct.
  8. For now I think Tennessee probably remains the better team over Indy. Still plenty of time and plenty of WRs out there for Indy to address that though and I think Pittman may prove himself to be a fine #1.
  9. Breece Hall would be interesting from the standpoint that he's not what Beane has targeted in the past. Singletary and Moss were among the best, if not the absolute best, in their respective classes in terms of breaking tackles/forcing missed tackles and yards after contact per attempt. Hall is (I believe) dead last in terms of yards after contact per attempt in his draft class. He certainly offers more speed than Singletary/Moss do, but he doesn't look like a 4.39 guy on tape; his initial burst isn't anything special and he generally doesn't pull away from guys but rather just maintains distance. But he'd definitely offer us an upgrade on 3rd downs that we seemingly want considering our pursuit of McKissic while also potentially being a good option on the early downs too. I'm personally against going RB in the 1st, but if you're going to do it, you should target a 3 down back IMO and Hall definitely checks that box.
  10. SB Contenders: Buffalo Kansas City LA Chargers Baltimore Cinci Denver Playoff Contenders: Miami Cleveland (if Watson plays this year) Tennessee Indy Las Vegas Losers: New England Pittsburgh NY Jets Jacksonville Houston Denver and New England were the most difficult for me to place; I think Denver is somewhere between SB contender and playoff contender and New England isn't as bad as the other losers but isn't as good as the playoff contenders IMO.
  11. There's exactly a 0.0% chance that all Hill does is five yard crossing routes. He'll be stretching defenses as he always has both vertically and horizontally and Tua throws a good enough deep ball that safeties will have to help take Hill away. Tua is also good at extending plays. Unfortunately for him last year, he'd make 1 or 2 pass rushers miss when 2 or 3 of them were coming so Miami eventually realized their only chance of success was to get the ball out so quickly that their OLine didn't have a chance to ruin him. Their tackles allowed more pressures than anyone in the league last year despite Tua getting the ball out quicker than almost anyone.
  12. These go hand in hand. Hill and Waddle can take those short passes a very long ways. Tua also throws a pretty good deep ball. His issue is he doesn't have the arm to squeeze in the intermediate passes into tight windows. I suspect that Miami will focus on the short and deep balls anyways, but theoretically, Hill's separation skills and the attention he pulls away from the middle of the field should make those passes easier for Tua.
  13. Yeah, I'm thrilled to see KC moving on from Hill personally. To me, it most likely knocks KC down a peg and while I think Miami should be in the thick of the wild card race, I don't think this elevates them to our level either. I think we're in a tipping point right now with the WR market where teams are figuring out how much they truly value the top-line guys; it's really fascinating to me from an analytical point of view. But the Bills fan in me naturally sees this as a downgrade for KC and that's good news for us.
  14. I don't think this really changes that. If he can't succeed with this supporting cast, they probably move on mid-season and get rid of him next offseason. If they're playoff bound and Tua is playing good football, I think they'd obviously be happy with that.
  15. To be fair, it's an incomplete picture right now. It's easy to look at the fact that they just sold off Hill and haven't replaced him and say the team is much worse now. I think they'll likely still be worse even after we see their corresponding moves, but it's at least slightly possible they could use the extra money and picks to build out a better team that just doesn't have arguably the best WR in the NFL on it.
  16. Only after the relationship had already deteriorated. And Hill will get more money than Green Bay wanted to give Adams.
  17. It'll be interesting to see if this is still the case this season with what should be an improved OLine. Tua threw a good deep ball in college and was more accurate on deep balls this past season than most NFL QBs. He very rarely had time to throw down the field though and his WRs simply were not good for it either.
  18. If he's truly torn, the Jets must be offering an absurd amount of guaranteed money compared to Miami.
  19. If Green Bay were interested in paying a WR that much, Adams would be a Packer right now. They clearly don't value the position that way and Hill will likely cost more both in terms of money and draft assets.
  20. Once again just reiterating anything I get is second hand but from what I’ve heard, Buddy and Jimmy are moving on and Jim is trying to use that to convince Cole to come back and be more of a featured scorer
  21. Hopefully we start hearing about our guys staying or going this week. From what I’ve heard, the guys that could potentially leave are (in order of likelihood): Jimmy/Buddy obviously Jon Bol Ajak very likely Cole Swider 50/50 Frank Ansalem 50/50 Benny Williams more likely to stay If Frank ends up leaving, we obviously need to find a backup C that can play. If Cole and or Benny leaves, we’ll be in desperate need of a forward. I think we need to find a guard that can play right away too so hopefully we’ll be active in the transfer portal but we’ll see.
  22. My first semester was pretty brutal. Got a scholarship to Syracuse, which was my dream school growing up and thought it would be amazing. Ended up getting assigned an international roommate who had been on campus for like a month before I got there. By the time I arrived he had his circle of friends already and I basically didn’t see him and just really struggled to make friends by myself. Finally became friends with my neighbor at the end of that semester and he basically got my social life going. He was one of those guys that could hit it off with anybody and as an introvert, I needed someone like that to kinda pull me out of my comfort zone. By the end of my freshmen year I had a handful of friends and it all kinda blossomed from there. Ended up meeting my wife the next year when she bought me in a fundraiser auction and I still meet up with a group of like 12 guys from college each year to do a fantasy draft and hang out for a weekend.
  23. He was released because they screwed their cap and were desperate. He’s missed 6 games in 4 years. Cinci had done a very good job addressing their biggest weakness this off-season.
  24. There’s still a lot of WRs available. The market hasn’t moved much yet.
