  1. This is kinda where I'm at too. The only free agent QB (aside from Cousins) that I think would be an upgrade over Tyrod is Bradford, but obviously health is a gigantic question with him. I definitely think there are upgrades available in the draft. But if we want the best veteran QB available, it's probably Tyrod. If you're content to paying a scrub like Derek Anderson to be the opening day starter and accept next season as a rebuilding year, that's fine. But if Buffalo is trying to win next season, I'm afraid Tyrod (plus hopefully one of the top 5 QB prospects) is likely the best choice.
  2. I wouldn't rule out the theory, but something smells about Manish Mehta of all people getting the scoop on this.
  3. Lamar's actually my #1 in this year's class with Darnold #2. I think with his running ability, he can play early on and he has maybe the most potential in the class (probably between him and Allen, who I view as a longer shot to ever reach his potential).
  4. He's certainly no Peterman, but he's still a pretty solid QB.
  5. Haven't you seen the reports about the beef between Belichick and Brady? Belichick is 100% going to trade Brady this offseason, and where did he trade his last incumbent starter to? Checkmate. Brady will be a Bill by August.
  6. Literally only because the WRs couldn't catch to save their lives this year. If you adjust for drops, Lamar's completion percentage was above Darnold and within 1% of Rosen and Rudolph.
  7. Vick was definitely faster, but there isn't a chance in hell that Lamar is anywhere near a 4.78 lol. I don't understand how someone that lives in the area and has watched him for 2 years can possibly think he's significantly slower than the likes of Andrew Luck, Connor Shaw, and Derek Carr.
  8. And I believe that was just on a regular pass; he wasn't even necessarily trying to throw it as hard as possible. I'm curious to see what his velocity is at the Combine just for the sheer absurdity of it.
  9. I'd gladly take him at 21, and if Buffalo were already sitting up higher, I'd be fine taking him then too. But as much as I like him, trading multiple 1st round picks + more to get him is just too risky IMO.
  10. Figured I'd post Lamar's since the other threads were all posted too.
  11. Or just keeping Tyrod instead, yeah. I think it would be negligent to trade up for a LB and risk having Peterman/a 2nd or later round pick as your best QB option for 2019.
  12. In this hypothetical scenario, I'd assume some veteran QB + another developmental prospect (with Peterman at least in camp too). Whether it's Keenum, Bradford, a scrub like Derek Anderson, or even just keeping Tyrod, I'm not sure. But if they decide to move up for a LB, I don't think they can really afford to not have a veteran in place in case none of the top 5 QB prospects slide to #22 (hypothetically speaking, I'm assuming Buffalo only trades one of their 2018 first round picks to move up for a LB).
  13. I continue to think this is a distinct possibility too. The LBs are probably the most important part of the McD defense and Buffalo pretty much needs to overhaul that position group entirely. I could definitely see a move up for Roquon or Edmunds.
  14. Yeah, but you're forgetting that Allen (who missed games this year from a shoulder injury) is much more durable than Lamar (who has never missed a game).
  15. As long as it isn't Rudolph at 21/22, I think I'll be happy with how the draft plays out.
  16. Sounds like in the very least, he was an alcoholic. The Vanity Fair article basically makes it sound like he was down to use any drugs he could get his hands on. And he literally went to rehab to get past his addiction. I don't know; I'm not a drug expert or anything, but it seems like it's pretty widely accepted that Johnny had addiction issues.
  17. http://sports.cbslocal.com/2016/02/17/johnny-manziel-nfl-quarterback-addict/ https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2016/10/the-fight-to-save-johnny-manziel-from-self-destruction
  18. It would appear that people have forgotten how good of a passer Manziel was in college. Manziel didn't thrive in as structured an environment as Mayfield did (which is saying something because a large part of Mayfield's game relies on him improvizing), but he was a very accurate passer in his own right. I don't think it's a diss to compare the two of them anyways; I think Manziel would have been an effective starting QB if not for his drug addiction.
  19. I saw that Buffalo News is reporting that the Bills will not be pursuing Cousins at all
  20. Crowell is a free agent and Jabrill was pretty terrible as a rookie. Cleveland has some serious talent there already though; the defense will probably be above-average next season and on offense, they have one of the best O-Lines in football, Josh Gordon, Duke Johnson, David Njoku, and whatever they can get out of the injury-prone Corey Coleman. If they play their cards right this offseason, they can be a very competitive team next year and signing Cousins would go a long way to making that happen.
  21. Knowing Arians likes his QBs big with big arms, it makes sense that he'd like this class so much. Even beyond Rosen, Darnold, Allen, and Lamar who all have the arm that Arians covets, you have Day 2/3 guys like Mike White, Chase Litton, and Kurt Benkert that all fit the mold Arians would look for. I think it's a really talented class overall, but there's a pretty massive dropoff after the top 5 (Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, Lamar in whatever order you like). I personally have Lauletta #6 and then another large dropoff from him to #7, but point being, it's a great class at the top and an interesting class at the bottom but there's basically no middle-class. 5 QBs being deserving of going in the 1st round alone makes this a great QB class.
  22. Feels like he might be forced to retire at this point to be honest.
